ANIME IS PART OF THE REASON I AM THE WAY I AM..HBU

Post by adamlevine » Thu Jul 19, 2018 10:17 pm

As I've gotten older, I've come to realize that I am a person who possesses a lot of perseverance and empathy towards others. (humble brag) As I sorta look back to figure out where this came from, (not my awful parents) I have come to believe that I owe some of it to anime.

I like to push through adversity like many anime characters and I am also accepting of all kinds of ppl, which again I believe it because of anime. (not trying to turn this into a political thing, please don't make this a political thing lol)

It's good to take a positive from your hobby, whatever that is. Keep in mind that the lessons these media tell you might not always be the best idea, but you have to apply it to reality in a way that works. A lot of the ideas in anime, thankfully, are pretty basic so they're fairly universal.

It's two fold:

Anime had a huge influence on the angle I take towards queerness and that's neat.

Anime also got me my job. Tinkering with AMVs and other things was super neat and I had a passion for it. I eventually went to school for it and I'm now a visual effects artist. I've literally worked on films like Black Panther or Thor Ragnarok and a lot of others. Doing TV shows mostly now. And I got to scratch #1 off my bucket list: I helped make part of the Ghostbusters franchise with the new movie in 2016. ...All that from making AMVs. Thanks, Anime.
