"Noisy." "Your feelings..." "Are important." (t/n: Google Translate says "taisetsu nanda" means 'what is it?' but just 'taisetsu' translates to 'important' and it's not a question... )
SpoilerShow
A better way to think of this phrase is that the Japanese adjective is "taisetsuna", and Erika wishes to use the informal form of the verb "to be", which is "da". If one simply puts the two words next to each other, one would get "taisetsuna da", but that combination grates on the Japanese ear. In cases such as this, Japanese speakers add a terminal "n" to the adjective, so that the phrase becomes "taisetsunan da".
SpoilerShow
Ugh, that's not "taisetsu-na kimochi". It's "kimochi wa taisetsu nano desu" with the assertive "nano" ("your feelings ARE important") going colloquial to "nano da" and then "nanda". No grating or whatever.
Google Translate is going with the colloquial "nanda" from "nani desu ka" (what is it?). The difference between the two is in context and intonation, and...sometimes...question marks in text. Of course, GT has no idea about any of that as it's using statistics to translate, so its input up to now probably has a higher rate of the question form.

This is getting fun. Largo is going to be helping whether he likes it or not. It's hilarious to see Erika manhandling him and dragging him along kicking and screaming. Erika seems to be in the, I need to round up the troops mode so she can take on this new challenge. Though maybe she might decide to stop by the Foxhole to reward her brave knight for always having her back. Which will setup for them to find Piro and Kimiko there. This was a sweet page. I just want to say I've enjoyed it more than any Megatokyo update in quite a long time. It makes me happy.

I also want to express the faint hope that maybe we're mostly done with nudity and sex for a while. First we had Miho fighting in a hospital gown that is even more revealing than real ones are (I mean, it didn't even qualify as clothing). Then we had Piro and Kimiko in a private room at the foxhole. Then we had Ping and her friends ALSO at the foxhole trying to figure out how to get her dad to have sex with her (which is a bad thing, according to Greek mythology). And now we're back at the hospital with nutso Moeko who wears no clothes whatsoever and flaunts it. Because she's nuts.

I understand this isn't a kid's comic, but I need a break. Up until Miho ended up at the hospital these kind of scenes were infrequent. Prissywings out.
Just call me prissywings

Oh, the feelz...

To me, this is the interaction that cements the relationship. I don't think it will take much for Largo to be on board with the rest of Erika's quest. By this point they both know he'd go balls to the wall for her. Go forth and conquer, dynamic duo!

From a layout standpoint, I like that Fred is feeling less constrained by keeping comics to the relative dimensions of a static printed page. McCloud's infinite canvas is coming to life...

If I had a quibble, it's that I really wish I could make out the expression on Moeko's face in the last panel, but it flashes in and out too fast to recognize.

But it doesn't come across like that at all, at least to me.
Me either, I agree. This isn't Hitoshi saying "I'm dumping you because I think I'm holding you back (except I'm actually lying about that because of my own issues which I think are more important than yours)". Largo by contrast is worried that he might not actually be able to help her on this particular field of battle, and is attempting to consign himself "gallantly" (from his POV) to a man in the chair role.

Erika refusing him that role makes the scene hilarious.

Erika is carrying Largo off under her arm like luggage... what more proof do you want that her body has been hijacked by Moeko?
Ah ha ha ha ha ha ha no.

Erika has always been stronger.
Short version, Hitoshi was a wuss and a dick, whereas Largo is intensely concerned about being a burden to Erika.

I don't see high physical strength being a characteristic of any magical girl archetypes I know of. So it's not likely that this is evidence of possession. Not that I'm ruling out possession just yet, but I don't see any evidence yet.

I wonder, since the takeover happened 10 comic days ago, does Kimi actually know? and what will Erika do when she learns? Or Largo, or Piro?

AFAIR, Piro is border-line indifferent - apart from the gripe when Dom tried to make him choose, or may actually remember that Dom was there when Kimiko refused his protection and then cried - which might get Kimiko and Piro aggravated; however Piro may still be facing the bail hearing, so he might actually need to get on Dom's nice side to not be deported prematurely... but it'll be hard to work for someone holding grudges. Huh.

Of all 4 of them, Erika may be the most level-headed and pragmatic and push the other 3 to completing the project, for the sake of Moeko, regardless of who are they working with; IDK what will Largo do ;)

Piro: "So, let me get this straight... Kimiko gives the voice to the character of the girl, who is in a coma in the hospital, that has been kept up to this point by whatever Miho's story made it to be? So that girl is actually Kotone? OMG WTF BBQ."
Don't forget Sayuri, she could be a real asset to this kind of project. And I would seriously want Megumi there; having a four-plus tail foxgirl around could be very useful if Dom gets sporty.

It will sound pretty cheesy, but this really seems like Largo found the key to her heart with this selflessness. Now to get everyone else lined up to help with stomping Dom when the time comes.

Man... this one was powerful. I really felt the impact of these two's feelings for each other in this page. I always smile when these moments happen. Say what you will about the characters, but this type of relationship dynamic is a bit enviable. Carry on, gallant forces. Time to fight for good. :)

I think she also knows that if they did have the soppy kissing scene, they'd have an audience and she'd rather keep that private.
Yea, verily: Who is that, running on the steppes! It is Sax, clutching buzzsaw hand extensions! He howls homicidally:
"I'm seriously going to pound you into the fast lane!!!"

;) One thing Erika is achieving is waking up Moeko. Having a comatose dream about watching Erika on TV is a whole lot less intense than sitting up in bed and commanding people to come back and smooch. If she can recuperate and lead her own life, it might free Miho from being overshadowed.

You're completely missing the point, there will be no stomping of Dom if Erika is to fulfill her commitment to Moeko. Largo has to stand down and let Erika do what she does best and stop getting in her way. And yes, that includes "protecting" her. This scene reveals that he's finally realized that he really can't help at all and he's got to stop getting in her way or even worse enabling her self destructive tendencies

I think you're wrong there. Erika and Largo are a team. He hasn't been treating her as a weakling who needs protected in quite some time. He's learned better, and Erika has learned that she accept help when it's done with love and respect.

Erika is going to need Dom, but that doesn't mean everything is going to go the way Dom wants. Erika is going to need to stand strong on some issues, and Largo is going to be there to support and help her. And that's a good thing.

paarfi, my issue is with the assumption that nothing has changed and that Dom is automatically the bad guy and so of course he's going to be stomped. Largo is now in an emotional support position and not a computer security or physical security support position.

The times they are a changin'

Bit of a shame the old forum archives are still down, or I could point to where I once posted something like the following:
younger me once wrote: "So who kills Dom?"
"What?"
"In the end, who kills Dom? Is it Largo? Who?"
"Nobody, nobody kills Dom. He lives."
"You mean he WINS? JESUS Grandpa, why did you even read me this story?"
Guess you'll just have to take my word for it.

*laughs* Well, I believe you. It's the kind of thing you'd say.

Invisigoth, I never said that Largo would be the one doing the stomping; as I pointed out, we have a four-tailed foxgirl, as well as a Ninja, to take care of that sort of thing now. Hell, we might even get Ed to help. I'm (still) convinced that Dom is an agent for the controlling intelligence behind MT. But that doesn't mean that I think he ends up dead. Dom is both too close to Piro and too important to the workings of MT for that to be a good idea.

I've been convinced for a while that part of what Largo needed to do was grow beyond the bodyguard persona. I hadn't thought it would be as a support for Erika, but Paarfi's right, that's where he's needed, and he's showing a lot more maturity and growth since getting into this relationship. I suspect he realized it was what was called for, and it had just never before occurred to him before now that those things might actually be useful. Of course, that leads to the question of what kind of growth Piro needs...

I would say megumi would probably rather be like the immortal observer, not interested in affairs of mere humans and other less powerful immortals... As far as writing stories goes, Yakugashi is more talented... Megumi either doesn't realize her own powers yet, or mask them really, really well.

Though it probably would be fun to see Megumi perform the perspective attack :)

And regarding Dom, I have a feeling we won't see him any more, after all, IRL, this was a bit just before Sega started going out of business.

I have a feeling, Erika will do a buyout of Lockhart using her own wealth and maybe a remortgage of her home (not unusual thing to happen IRL)

Ed is a griefer, and has been smashed with a Tetris block and bombed with BHFE. Sony still exists but there's no PS5 t-shirt for him therefore we won't see him either :)

SpoilerShow
If you don't mind my saying so, this is actually not entirely correct re - "taisetsu nanda."

It's not that it would come out to "taisetsu na da" and that's unpleasant. "Taisetsu na da" is grammatically incorrect - taisetsu is an adjectival noun; "taisetsu da" is how that would be. Meaning "[previously understood topic] is important," since 'da' is the informal version of 'desu.'

Nanda in this case is a contracted form of na no da (ใชใฎใ ). When using taisetsu, which means 'important,' the 'na' is there to describe a noun. If you remember South Park, "Taisetsu na mono wa protect my balls!" (The important thing is to protect my balls!) Taisetsu na mono, important thing.

In "nanda," the na is modifying "no," which... this part is difficult to explain... the no (ใฎ) gives it kind of an explanatory/emphasizing tone. Like saying "The thing is, your feelings are important." "No" makes a kind of noun. If I say, "Dare no enpitsu desu ka?" (Whose pencil is this?" You could say "Fred-san no desu," (It's Fred's.)

...I'm losing myself.

Point is, taisetsu nanda = taisetsu na no da contracted, not taisetsu na da. Taisetsu na da is not right.

No one cares, but I'm just super sayin'.

Erika buys Lockhart and they live happily ever after?

Gawd that would suck pond scum through a soda straw. Great way to totally kill the entire strip, just write it all off the chapter ends. Buy everything!

On other points though, I still suspect that Megu is in fact a nine-tail and that's going to be an entirely new story when that reveals (if it does in fact come to fruition)

When quoting other users' posts, please be careful of your closing tags. I have corrected three malformed posts in this thread.
SpoilerShow
The real spoiler is that the official translation is available if you mouse over the speech bubbles in the comic ;) ใ€Œใ†ใ‚‹ใ•ใ„ใ€ is a common phrase translatable as "shut up" and you've almost definitely heard this in anime more times than you can count (yes, it is literally an adjective that means "loud" or "noisy" so if you're a fan of annoyingly literal translations over natural localization, "You're being noisy." is technically valid but also completely misses the point in a conversation like this). ใ€Œๅ›ใฎๆฐ—ๆŒใก๏ผˆใŒ๏ผ‰ๅคงๅˆ‡ใชใ‚“ใ ใ€ we've translated here from "You're feelings are important." As walkingeagle notes,ใ€Œใชใ‚“ใ ใ€ is a common contraction of ใ€Œใชใฎใ ใ€ - it indicates a reason or explanation, Erika is telling Largo to stop saying that his feelings aren't important because, to her, they are. ใ€Œๅคงๅˆ‡ใ€ doesn't just mean "important", though, it suggests an importance to the speaker - that Largo's feelings are important and cherished by Erika. And now it's noon here in Tokyo, so I'm going to go get lunch.

Megumin as a new story would be sweet. If she really is a nine-tail, she's seriously repressed; in the mythology a nine-tail is mischievous to a fault, and doesn't mind breaking things and people. Would be interesting to know why.
