Was looking for the discussion here on the forum. Absolutely a tragic loss.
Anyone talk with Fred?

Tweet from Fred
I am literally away from any regular data connection this week, I got the news about kyouani this morning when driving up to Marquette. I feel devastated. I remember when Kyou Ani started. I don't even know what to say. I was glad to descend back into the blackness of no data
Tweet from Dom
Processing the KyoAni news internally, wondering about the mindset it takes to believe that death threats to creatives are a "fan" response.
Saw it every week at EA, seen it in JP fandom for decades, still don't comprehend the casual level of evil required.

I've been trying to think of what to say about this, but... I just can't find words. It's a tragedy.

One thought I can't shake is simply a reminder to consider our own homes and workplaces- entrances, exits, location of firefighting equipment for small fires, and multiple expected evacuation routes if needed.
It isn't clear how quickly the fire spread, but it seems many victims became incapacitated by smoke before the fire reached them. Stay low, know your exits, and be prepared to try another exit if one is inaccessible.

This was on Japanese TV news for like a week. It still is. My co-workers have talked to me about it--it's a big deal, even outside of anime fandom.
I dropped in my bux at the local Animate for support. It's the best I can do.

Was definitely trying to figure out the best way to support, so hearing that KyoAni set up donations is great to hear.

It's a fire. Calling an arson as massacre is too much.
It's been over a month and I'm still not emotionally ready to deal with this, so I have not besides buying some Kyoani blurays.
