Our favorite thing at Youmacon and on the Twitch chat is people who say "Megatokyo! I remember reading that when I was in high school!"

I guess I was always old, I found MT not too long after it started up, when I was in graduate school.

Yep, I'm weird. And "old" -- 55, halfway to 56. (Yikes! Where did my 30s go? Hell, where did my 40s go??)

I got sucked into Megatokyo in 2005 after being exposed to it at Otakon in ...... 2002? ..... or whenever it was that Fred was there.

And I think one of the forumites is pushing 70 .... ?

Megatokyo? I remember back when I was in high school hearing my grandpa talk about reading that!

Vast majority of forum software are variations on a theme, but naturally they are different around the edges. I hear what we had before is very outdated in terms of the back-end stuff.

Which is fair. It's not like this is the first forum update/overhaul, it's just been a while. All of the old join dates are gone.... post numbers too. That kind of sucks.

I'm member # 69 now. Ahhh yiss.

I made a greasemonkey script that moves the user portfolios to the left, makes the forum use the entire browser width, moves the link to MT on the forums navigation, and removes signatures. Cause I hates them forevers.
Only tested in Firefox.

// @name        Megatokyo_Forums_Swap.user.js
// @namespace   https://forums.megatokyo.com/*
// @description Cleanuping up a few things that annoy Arcu
// @include     https://forums.megatokyo.com/*
// @version     1
// @grant    GM_addStyle
// ==/UserScript==

// Remove the link to the website cause I keep clicking on it
var breadcrumbs = document.getElementsByClassName('crumb');
breadcrumbs[0].remove();

// Modern monitors are often larger than 800x600
GM_addStyle ( " .wrap { border: 1px solid transparent; margin: 0 auto; max-width: 96%; padding: 4px; }" );

// Profiles belong on the left!
GM_addStyle ( " .post .postbody .content {padding: 2px;}" );
GM_addStyle ( " .post .postbody { float: right; width: calc(100% - 230px);}" );
GM_addStyle ( " .post .postprofile { float: left; margin: 2px; border-left: none; border-right: 1px solid black; width: 220px;" );

// kaitou fix for non centered topic review when replying
GM_addStyle ( " .topicreview .post .postbody { float: left; width: 100%;}" );

// Signatures are an abomination of human creation
// Remove below if you like them
// This still loads the pics then hides them. Might be a better way
var signatures = document.getElementsByClassName('signature');
for (var i=signatures.length; --i>=0;) {
	signatures[i].remove();
}

Edit: 2017-07-22 Adding kaitou fix

Huh, neat! Came around for my yearly lurking spree and didn't expect to find the forums to be updated... ever.
