Re: [1527] Nature of the relationship
Hmm a chink is Yaku's armor, she doesn't realize that Miho is quite capable of transporting her anywhere if she can show Miho where "there" is...and you just can't call a Ninja on command.....

Oh she knows, she's been texting her Aunt Megumi and her cousin Ashe.
Re: [1527] Nature of the relationship
Sooooo. The catgirl in panel 6. Is that Miho? Seems a bit too far away, and Miho has not grown ears and a tail before, even when curious. Is this perhaps the first appearance of a certain catgirl that Fred has drawn before? The cheek markings look like Miho's bandage and bruise though. I'm confused, but very very curious.

Re: [1527] Nature of the relationship
Haha, @paarfi, this looks like it is a play on 'curiosity killed the cat' - looks like Miho is curious of Yaku's kitsune tale... 'also curious' right ?
Great page @Fred
Wonder if Enji can handle 2 girls... or will she just take Miho to the destination, and leave Yaku in the compound.
Haha. A female ninja, an angel, a robot and a former lover, isn't that too much against Kimiko ? OTOH, she has, as it's been said, 'formidable power'.
Though the angel would be in Kimiko's camp more likely...
Or ... wherever Piro's heart sways...
mmmm

I like the idea of cat-girl Miho, that's just funnier than it should be.

Ooh, it got interesting. All ninja family entwined with kitsune family kinds of interesting.

Re: [1527] Nature of the relationship
So, ninja girl referred to Junpei as "young man"? Just how old is she? Does this mean that the theories that she is actually a matriarch of the family may have some more credence?

Re: [1527] Nature of the relationship
No, Himeji is a location in southern Japan wikipedia. Yaku was saying Himeji rather than Tokyo. Apparently Mugi's accent is cause she's from Himeji.
I imagine Fred is going to continue to tease us with this. Hopefully we finally get an answer.senjyu_kannon wrote: ↑Wed Jun 13, 2018 1:39 pmSo, ninja girl referred to Junpei as "young man"? Re: [1527] Nature of the relationship
Maybe she will drive them over in a car.
Re: [1527] Nature of the relationship
Looks like ninjamom (ninjasister?) is considering the possibility of a kitsune daughter in law. Was wondering who the catgirl in the background is, the forum seems to think it is Miho in curious mode, so I will go with that. Looks like I was right about Yaku's motivation about why she sent her guardian ninja to be with mom. My guesses aren't correct very often, so I am going to savour this.
So, when the cast starts to arrive at the hotel. Are the two lovebirds going to still be in the act, afterglow mode, or finished and cleaned up?

Re: [1527] Nature of the relationship
Neat, I had wondered how Junpei was going to carry both of them. Looks like Grandma’s on board to play this new game.
It’d be funny if she just drove them to the hotel in a car.

Re: [1527] Nature of the relationship
I'm of the opinion that they aren't about to be going anywhere
It occurs to me that Yaku doesn't know Junpei's name and Ninja Grrl didn't give it away with her question either.

Re: [1527] Nature of the relationship
Ah, a Himeji Kitsune clan relocated to Tokyo, dialect had showed Mugi wasn't from round these parts, now we know where. (Was any of that in the shrine visit arc?)
So, that very much appears exactly Tohya but with feline ears and tail; a sidepanel cute funny incongruity (or another power Miho has when she's curious lol)
Well then, it seems this ninja female wasn't planning on going with them. The wording in panel 3, and also 6, appears either some sort of melodramatic style dialog being mimicked, or questions from somebody more older and serious than we might have been lead to believe. The sentences/words in 7 and 9 likewise. Has the real Enjii arrived for display? Sort of like the way she was messing with Miho then popped out with the oh btw I'm here to kill you sort of line. Well either way, Junpei as the young man who brought Yaku here, which sounds like a less than close way to put things, and doesn't match what most might say about a brother, or son or grandson; although the young man part certainly fits the last two more than the first. Still, rather less than a straightforward way to put it, as it really answers no question on who this ninja is. It only suggests much. Who is she hiding things from, just us? Or is there nothing hidden, just nothing determined to give out. Or is it some of the other possible answers.
Which that's also interesting in panel 8 in that certainly Junpei is both busy and much farther away. He was nearby and listening at hospital, and not so much in this case. The question, even if he hears, would he go. He's tasked and involved, has really already nullified that whole attempt at coercion and blackmail etc Either way, he's not here, it's perhaps a different Ninja on call, for whatever reasons.
Here's the thing though. One of the another sets of answers. Both Ninja and Kitsune were here to ostensibly do a specific thing (find out about Miho or potentially try to kill Miho per the order, write a brand new story for Miho that wouldn't make Mugi sad) and yet, not exactly what is happening. Perhaps the questions from Ninja to Kitsune are something else, maybe the Kitsune changed her mind, perhaps Miho actually wants to see Piro or to just go to where Kimiko is, and so on. Instead apparently, what's happened is another story has shoved its way into the plans of everyone who had plans, which then becomes the discussion between the roles and dialog, and who is or isn't aware this is going on. If it has turned into another story (same, different, both). Is the Analogue forcing the story to wind itself back to the one that was supposed to be over, or is the story forcing the Analogue and everyone else into something old or something new. Whatever is driving what which way, some things might be explained by things having changed a few times since they started, because story or those controlling it.
Should things actually go that way, the situation that is going to exist at the hotel? If these three end up there in a reasonable time, it just might less involve Kimiko and Piro, somewhat involve Yaku's family, and more so revolve around Ping/whoeverthatguyis and perhaps Junko, which... that would be interesting. Or it may be that something entirely different is waiting for everyone that happens to show up where ever and when ever they get to that place and time.

Re: [1527] Nature of the relationship
Haha, that last panel is funny! =D
Thanks for the update, Fred! Love it!
=)
And yeah, about the curious catgirl in the background. Glad I’m not the only one wondering about that, judging by the forum and cidjen.

Re: [1527] Nature of the relationship
Concerning mini-catgirl Miho in panel 6:
If Piro's conscience can manifest as a shoulder angel, why can't Miho's curiosity manifest as a catgirl?

Re: [1527] Nature of the relationship
Catty Miho is catty.
Interesting how N1nj4Grrl divulges nothing of the relationship between her and Junpei.
A kitsune/n1nj4 multiclass has a lot of possibilities. Has there ever been an anime of this?
Is "Oi, NINJA!" a generic ninja-summoning call and the nearest one fields it?

Miho is "Also curious." Hopefully, that isn't the curiosity that kills the cat.paarfi wrote: ↑Wed Jun 13, 2018 1:00 pmSooooo. The catgirl in panel 6. Is that Miho? Re: [1527] Nature of the relationship
um, I think yer account was hijacked again, iffy ;>
So, to make an actual comment about the current comic...
Does anybody else notice ninjagrrl brushing back a tear in panel 7 at hearing Yaku explain "the nature of the relationship between your mother and the young man who brought you here"?
Sad tear because ninja aren't allowed to fraternize with kitsune?
Happy tear to hear that her grandson is finally showing an interest in the opposite sex?
Other reason?
Let the wild speculation begin!
