Poor Megumi. She was yelling at the Ninja for not looking out for her, and it turns out he was. But even more so, he's doing it all for Mugi, so Megumi loses out in love again. :(

Also, even a near car crash doesn't seem to be diverting Kimiko. That girl's in heat. :)

Junpei to the rescue, so not a giant robot or mega dues.
Kimiko is straight snoggin on Piro in the backseat of that micro-mini cube van... it must be a tardis to have that much room in the backseat.
Poor Megumi... broken hearted she drives her friend and coworker out of harms way sporting a ninja hood ornament she wants but no longer feels she has a chance to court.

KIMIKO! there is this thing.... its called consent, I don't think Piro has given it yet! I don't think he can, he might be too confused... I would be. And sorry Megumi.... I don't think your gunna get the steamy ninja action you wanted.

Ah, that bang was Junpei, I was afraid it was one of the mechs grabbing the vehicle. I knew he would be working to get her clear, what happened to the tank, I wonder? I really hope that vehicle is not a lease, otherwise those 2 inch deep boot dents in the hood are going to be a problem.

WOOT! =D

I like how Megumi’s ribbon acts like Mugi’s ears… =)

Oh yeah, @HakuRyoko: I didn’t know a girl had to ask a boy to be allowed to kiss him after what they have been through up until now. I think Kimiko *gives* him a kiss — ah well, or a few more until Piro will snap into main panic and scold Kimi from out of his totally gridlocked brains.

Poor Piro. Kimiko dressed like Miho giving you kisses. He must be all confused.

One of the other forumites remarked that Megumi might actually be a kitsune like Mugi, but uses a glamour to hide her ears and tail.

Maybe the ribbon is part of the glamour.

Blake from RWBY does something similar (but with a full bow and no glamour). So this is quite possible.

Wow I can't believe that I called that one in the thread for the last strip. I guess I was thinking the same way that Fred was on how to bring our favorite Ninja back into the scene. Now that he is on point he can shepherd our intrepid trio to safety. But this is the world of MT where there are plot twists around every corner. I could see Fred throwing us a curveball just to twist the plot around a bit. Let's see what happens next.

And she appears in those with no animation in her ribbon and ordinary human ears clearly visible. But her first appearance was in Comic 32. THE SEARCH NINJA'S WORK AGAIN !!1101

In her next appearance when Piro was going through his Big Damn Camera Smashing Hero Phase, her human ears were intermittently visible and that was her last canon appearance until she arrived in the hospital this morning. But the search ninja's (bless their little php-coded hearts) show she was in TWO (2) omakes I didn't notice her in before. In the Full MegaTokyo Panic Omake as Kimi's friend in the very first frame (very briefly), and in the UnMod omake, as a kitsune girl on pages 979 and 974 (amongst the background girls).

I really forgot how useful the Search Function was. It was broken on the old server for a long time.

The move to the new server really made a difference there. Also, Kalium had stopped updating the transcripts (which power the search ninjas) back in 2011 or so when get got too busy. I've brought them up-to-date so they'll work for newer comics too. I do need to go back and clean some stuff up though. I notice that searching for Tounomoto or Ayanokouji doesn't find some of their earlier appearances. Maybe Fred hadn't given them names yet back then. Anyway, Search Ninjas Yay!

The first two panels are some great dynamic poses for Junpei.

I'm struck once again by how much the artwork has progressed since the early days (and it wasn't half bad then).

Poor Megumi. She wants Junpei and she thinks Mugi already has dibs, but he's actually banging her car.

If memory serves (it often doesn't these days), an old tradition would be for her to remark on having just got it paid off. Shortly after the chase ends and they get out; shortly before it collapses into spare parts and she's left holding the door she was closing.

Me too, but I'm feeling too lazy this morning. Piroshky Piroshky is awesome and their Moscow Rolls are lovely, but finding parking in Pike Place is... well, troublesome.

If you look at Piro's hands in the final frame, they don't seem to be in make out mode. More of a "what's going on" mode

Just like what happened to the Bluesmobile at the end of the chase in the Blues Brothers Movie.

Looks like despite Megumi's griping, that Junpei was protecting her. At least as best as he could keep up with.
I suppose Kimiko took the initiative to make her move with Piro, considering that they where hiding under the blanket. Though it seems Piro isn't really ready for that.

I knew there was a reason I liked her! and I'm the one who pointed out how her bow was acting like fox ears and that kitsune have the ability to hide their ears and tail (if they want to).

If I remember Fred's foxgirl genetics correctly, it's something that's only passed along the direct maternal line. Megumi is the daughter of one of the family sons... ergo, no foxgirl.
