Mostly binged Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. I think Akudama Drive did it a lot better. It should have been stretched out 2-3 eps to give it a chance to breathe. Way too rushed.

“Edgerunners” is too noir for me to watch more than a couple of eps at a time. Being an SF fan, I appreciate a series that doesn’t cater to the LCD.

Lately I have been staving off boredom with Rainman Ray and a Chinese series, “Demons and Gods”, which is only 5 min. of story per ep (minus intro) but is intriguing and not just cultivating and battles.

I'll give Akiba Maid War this: 90% of people will either love it or hate it, with no in-between. Me? Love it(so far).

And now the unexpected association time...

I have been casually looking through something that caught my eyes - KUCHI GA SAKETEMO KIMI NI WA

And then, it dawned on me that the male MC kinda started looking like the main character from From Now on We Begin Ethics.

Sorry I had to.

Not quite up to the half way part of the season, here's a few thoughts of what I've watched. Been a busy season, currently watching 13 shows, dropping only one.

The one I dropped was Love Flops. Premise was stupid, characters are one dimensional. Chinese teacher(with green hair!!) is hot, but it's not enough to save it.

An almost equally stupid premise is to be found in More than a Couple, Less than Lovers. Its' saving grace is better character writing and dialogue. Plus, Akari is hot.

I had guessed Kokyu no Karasu would be Apothecary Diaries Lite, since the settings are similar. I was mostly correct; Shouxue is no Maomao, relying on supernatural arts instead of her own guile in solving the mysteries of the Inner Palace. Still, it's not bad; it looks good, and the OP and ED are good.

Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury looks great, but the pacing is horribly slow, IMO. It's almost halfway through(assuming it's 12-13 eps. Two cours would change my opinion a little), and it's just getting past worldbuilding, and moving on to the main plot.

Do it Yourself! is a watercolor style ripoff of Yuru Camp, right down to the space cadet MC. However, it's a good ripoff. Even when the girls are arguing or Shii is ninjaing through the roof, it's still a chill vibe.

Bocchi the Rock was not on my radar when the season began; I heard several good reviews about it, so I gave it a shot. This is the anime K-ON should have been. Bocchi as a character is authentic, one that I can empathize with. The music's great, too.(except for Kita)

I'm always wary when PA Works puts out an anime, but Akiba Maid War is crazy fun, with an emphasis on crazy. Rendou is my waifu of the season!

Chainsaw Man is worth the hype, and that's all I'm gonna say. ;)

As for continuing series, they are mostly the same as they have been before: Uzaki, Spy x Family, Golden Kamuy, and Mob Psycho, continue on much like seasons prior. BNHA has gotten a lot better than in previous seasons, but To Your Eternity is a train wreck, and if the suck continues, I may drop it.

Unknown to me until October, Bocchi the Rock has stolen my heart, and earned only the 9th 10 from me on MAL out of 445 entries. Is it perfect? No. However, the skill and love Cloverworks put in this show shines through, making it my AOTY(by a whisker over Kaguya S3).

It might be kinda tongue in cheek,

but go watch Anime Rock Paper Scissors on Corridor on youtube (not gonna paste links cause it tracks :P)

it has more tropes than Megatokyo ;)

I SO WISH SOMEONE MADE MEGATOKYO ANIME that way...

(Corridor Crew channel has the brilliant technical intro but go watch the anime first... basically if the technique is perfected, bye-bye gigantic Japanese anime studios and/or their exploitative practices ;) )

Thanks for the recommendation, I thouroughly enjoyed it. Are there just 12 episodes, or can we expect more, do you know?

As popular as it seems to me, I don't see why there won't be a second season or movie. One can hope!
