Running a little behind, was not around for three weeks, am back now! Started the new season off with the most excellent Kaguya: Love is War S2. Still yet to try out S2 of the Fruits Basket, S2 of Ascendance of a Bookworm, and the final season of Oregairu, whenever they get around to showing it. There's a few others I haven't tried out yet either, hopefully they will be keepers. Also going to try to watch the train wreck that's the final season of Food Wars!

Kakushigoto is delightful, and I have a feeling it's going to crush my heart by the time it's over.....

Oh it also seems like it (Kakushigoto - Secrets) is back from hiatus on manga releases :)

If you like Hata Kenjiro (of Tonikaku Cawaii/Fly me to the moon), These two will be married in 100 days seems as funny as the aforementioned, and won't drag as as long lol :) and seems to be growing with the intended audience too ;) and full color...

I'll have to wait to pick up the manga until the anime's over, don't want to spoiler myself!

I don't know why I'm drawn to "loser protagonist" shows, but Sing "Yesterday" For Me is also great.

Fruits Basket(2019) S2 is starting pretty low key, not enough Haru.......

The second season of Ascendance of a Bookworm is decent, but it hasn't been as good as the first season, yet.

My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead To Doom! is a fun and silly little show that's worth a watch.

Still haven't gotten around to Wave, Listen To Me!, and Arte yet, as they sound interesting.

Arte is formulaic and almost boring, but it's not offensive.

Wave, Listen to Me! is a hoot, but the pace to me is slow, despite all the dialogue.

Hata Kenjiro has been publishing a 4-Koma on Twitter called These Two Will Be Married In 100 Days. It's very similar in style to Fly Me to the Moon(In other words, it's cute.) ;)

People still fuckin' post here?
Daaaaaannnnnng.
I haven't been really watching anything "new".
I picked up this HUGE pile of old school '70's, '80's, and '90's shit and have been working my way through it AT A MEDIUM PACE.
I haven't even bothered looking at whatever's airing. It's probably all shit.

...high school student DROPPED
...isekai DROPPED
...sports team DROPPED

I started watching anime because tv shows and movies that came out of hollywood were trite, cliche, lame, and predictable. Now anime is exactly that; just a same rehash over and over again:

>A threat looms over Japan/ the world. Despite organizations, agencies, and government-funded departments of trained professionals, Japan is utterly powerless to combat this threat, and the fate of the whole world is placed in the hands of a handful of untrained and snarky child soldier(s).
or
protag with no semblance of personality takes his seat, second to last in the row by the window, and struggles to navigate an increasingly complex love-polygon that he is inexplicably incapable of managing due to his overwhelmingly disengaged and herbivorous lifestyle.
or
>cute girls doing cute things
or
>I wanna fuck my sister!
or
>histrionic, hysteric, furious girl that is secretly in love with guy punches the guy into orbit for accidentally falling and cupping a boob.
or
>let's sexualize some preteens!
or
>i was just a normal guy with zero talent and/ or personality, and I got sent to another world, where I am inexplicably awesome and everyone wants to fuck me!

And the fact that literally every anime revolves around high schoolers.

I watch anime more out of habit these days. Been watching it less and less as I've started watching more american network programming and going to see movies.
I don't even watch full series anymore. I just watch the first couple episodes, determine the plot, then drop the series. No point in rewatching the same rehashed derivative bullshit.

Tonight I'm watching...
Dominion Tank Police! circa 1988. Back before the turn of the century when mosta ya young whippersnappers were still paddling around in your daddy's nutsacks!

Now get offa mah lawn!

Haha manga in a nutshell, say?

At least the 'living in the manga industry' genre is something you don't see every day (Hitman, Bakuman). Though it uses all the tropes.

No, Nestor, people don't post here, just advanced programmed 'bots..... You want something different that's new, try Wave, Listen to Me! No isekai, high schoolers, mecha, or sports teams, just maladjusted adults(you know, like the people that post on this site ;) )

a few people still keeping it strong...

i haven't posted in a bit tho

i've been watching a ton of stuff

Lucky Star is soo cute

Kabuki-bu is nice, like a more "serious" show about some high school club, but with very light drama, and for the most part it's a warm show. the characters are really nice and cute, i admire them

Been watching Kaguya-sama Love Is War season 1. This show is wonderful.

Itazura na Kiss is really cute with cute characters.

Is The Order A Rabbit (Gochuumon wa Usagi desu ka?) - top-tier cute girl show

Oh yeah! I watched this ecchi show. Kenkou Zenrakei Suieibu Umishou. It was wonderful. Soo cute.

Finished Runway de Waratte. I enjoyed it, I hope for a 2nd season.

Been continuing a bunch of other shows I've already mentioned, and feel the same about them.

Started a new Shonen Jump title called Time Paradox Ghostwriter. Kinda stupid though, not sure if I'm going to keep reading it long term.

Most of the shows I'm watching has hit a "stall" in writing and production, but Wave and Kaguya S2 remain strong.

Wrapping up Spring....

Arte finished up as it started, inoffensive and vanila.

Ascendance of a Bookworm S2 lost a lot of its' luster this season. It was as if Main was really a child instead of a grown woman in a child's body.

Sing "Yesterday" For Me had a lot of emo and very little action. I guess I'm OK with Haru was happy at the end, but the other three could've been hit by a Bongo, and I wouldn't have cared.

Wave, Listen To Me! was a crazy-assed show featuring stellar VA work of the MC. Mostly fun, but it could get weird sometimes.

My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead To Doom! was a lot more fun that I thought itwas going to be. The world needs more Bakarinas! ;)

Fruits Basket S2 was heavier on the drama and lighter on the comedy this year, but given the subject matter, it was necessary. Needed to see Haru turn Akito into a squashed cockroach, but alas, that didn't happen.....

Once upon a time, Oregairu was my gold standard of romcoms. Kaguya: Love is War is better, IMO. We'll see when Oregairu S3 starts in a few weeks.

I went through the three Project Itoh films. Genocidal Organ, Harmony and The Empire of Corpses.

I'm not sure if I particularly enjoyed Genocidal Organ. There were some neat ideas in and about it I suppose.

Harmony I'm also a bit eh on, though I quite liked the setting.

I think I enjoyed The Empire of Corpses the most, if only because it could be taken fairly straight as an action adventure. Though it probably didn't have as interesting ideas as the previous two. Looks real nice though.

Asaka Aka and Yokoyari Mengo are teaming up on a manga called Oshi No Ko. I'll just say it's very Japan.... ;)

I'm watching Bubblegum Crisis 2040 for some inexplicable reason. Sylia smashing whisky glasses with her bare hands is vaguely amusing. I also find it amusing the enemies are called boomers. But I find the experience not too interesting overall and the action sequences don't really hold up. But I'm already 20 odd episodes in so I'm gonna make it to the end.

The Great Pretender is good fun.
