Hello and welcome to new forum on new server (I'll miss Akiko...sort of)
Last thread here
What anime/manga/related things are you watching/reading/etc currently?

As for me,

Tsugumomo - why not...
Eromanga sensei - still very amused by the characters
Saekano S2 - still very amused in general
Attack on Titan S2 - amusing
Piri Piri Chiichan - watching for seiyuu factor but better than expected
Rokuaka - fairly easy watch with enough dynamic storytelling
Sukasuka - setting is fun, characters are charming
Uchoten 2 - finally it's getting somewhere, but while the show's charming it could do better pushing the narrative tension
GBF - yawn
Hinako note - still watching mostly for cute plot but this fanservice...
Tsukigakirei - it's cute
Twin Angel Break - welp
Renai Bokun - welp...
Sakura Quest - I hope it keeps going
Alice & Zoroku - It's in a tricky space... not as tight as before but not sure if current arc is as compelling as a result
Re:Creator - It's alright

Also watching Akashic Records of Bastard Magic Instructor.

Just finished watching "Your Lie in April" with my teenage daughter on Netflix. She hated the ending, since she was hoping for something more along the line of "The Fault in our Stars". Any recommendations along a similar vein?

You could watch.."a silent voice" I cant watch it all the way through. i keep crying too much. just the sound of the actress who is learning to speak draws tears.

Watching:

Hero Academia: It's good. Leaning towards the "awesome" side of good, really.

Hinako Note: More superficial than I was initially expecting, but it's still cute. Heavy on the fanservice for a CGDCT series.

Frame Arms Girl: More captivating than I was initially expecting. Somehow. Maybe because Ao is actually a fun character to watch rather than just a plot device for her toys?

Sakura Quest: I like it. 'Nuff said.

Alice & Zoroku: I'm an episode behind, but I plan to catch up. Pretty worried about Sana lately.

Alice & Zouroku - I had my apprehensions after the first episode of some of the shoddiest

Natsume Yuujinchou - The show I will zone out to as many episodes there are of.

Sakura Quest - Not the strongest PA Works show I've watched, but certainly not the weakest. Still enjoying it.

Uchoten Kazoku - I quite like how slow and meandering it is, but it does get quite exciting when stuff does actually happen.

Bahamut: Virgin Soul - FAVARROOOOO is finally back. The plot thickens.

Sin: Nanatsu no Taizai - I don't watch these kinda shows often but I bought some of the figures, I now have to watch this. It's more entertaining than Senran Kagura.

Hero Academia - Intense but the sports festival needs to wrap up.

Magical Witch Academia - Found the whole experience kinda mediocre ultimately but I'm already this far in.

I'm thinking I could pick up a show or two more but nothing's really catching the eye.

Oh, that Manga just wrecked me. What would be a good choice for an anime. I've been out of the loop for a while so I haven't seen too much of the latest stuff.

Right now I'm watching watching 'Netflix' available Anime.
A bit of Fairy Take, a bit of Rurouni Kenshin. Yes, older anime but I'll admit I'm a bit behind in that department.

I'm also on the prowl for some good anime movies (rather than Series) so open to more recent recommendations.

Natsume 6 finished like I figured; quality work, but no real surprises. I'll be watching when season 7 comes out......

Speaking of Netflix, you should give the Knight of Sidonia series a try, and then watch the Blame movie, which is a Netflix exclusive.

I hear that Your Name movie is pretty good.

Cannot recommend enough. Sidonia was pretty good, but Blame! actually made me pick up the manga. And read it all the way through. Good. Shit. It's the sort of thing that made me fall in love with anime in the first place. Plus the animation is fantastic. Really did the original works justice.

Overall, the Q2 offerings were kinda meh. Attack on Titan is the must-watch on everyone's list I guess, but My Hero Academia! took me by surprise. Way better than I expected and I'm super thrilled to keep watching. Then there's Re: Creators which I love on so many levels. Art, animation, plot, direction... it's probably the highlight of this season next to Hero Academia.

@ Tesseract: You should check out the Harlock movie on Netflix. It was really good, and while it deviates a bit from the source material, at the end of the day it's still Harlock. He's a legend for a reason. Also if you haven't seen it, check out Durarara and x2 - it's a bit older, but damn is it a great series.

Sadly, Q3 doesn't seem to have much to interest me. At least we'll finally get the last ep of the Ancient Magus' Bride OVA, before the series starts in Q4...

Trying to marathon Macross Frontier, but it's hard to keep interest. It's trying to be too many things at once (you all probably already know this, )

Now watch the movies. Both have pro /cons.
Series: more plot, more derp
Movies: More production. Sheryl's first concert on the first movie... daaaaaaaaannnnng. Less plot (not a bad thing but they cut good as well as bad).
Sheryl best girl, ranka stank

I thought the first movie was a good repackaging of the parts they covered. The new city scene with Obelisk playing was great too. The 2nd movie was kinda just bad pacing and whut revelations.

Watch Delta and be sad over it with me.

CR has a new EP (13) of Interviews With Monster Girls. It's pretty much like the first 12. Cute.
SpoilerShow
And there's a new Demi...... :D

Oh, wow. Working Spoiler tags.

Yes on Blame!, Knights of Sidonia (still need to pick up the soundtrack for the latter). Both drove me to pick up the manga, though I haven't read Blame! yet.

And yes, episode 13 of Interviews with Monster Girls was a comforatble fit with the series. I hadn't realized how much I enjoyed these characters --- revisiting them was a surprisingly pleasant experience.

Just watching Little WItch Academia at the moment.

Fate Apocrypha was kinda meh.

Symphogear is still amazing. They totally lied when they said it was going to start off slow.
SpoilerShow
Before half the episode was over, they were punching tanks and swatting cannon shots away. Then they proceeded to go through that Contra level where they platformed their way through a storm of incoming missiles and chop the Avengers helicarrier in half. I'm not sure if this tops space shuttle suplex or not but it's definitely almost as good.
Kakegurui is great.

Amazing, yes. That's a good way to say it. I don't think this beats the previous season's intro for being over-the-top epic, but it also doesn't feel like it falls short, either.

This little campaign is hitting a painful wound for Chris, and I'm glad Hibiki and Tsubasa have seen it and made it clear that they're there to help her if she needs them.

Delta had a lot of issues, but I still liked it.

Though, I also didn't mind Macross 7 that much either, and that killed the franchise for over a decade...

There's always hope the next one will recapture the magic I guess. (But I'm of the opinion Delta is the new 7....)
