Did we only /just/ learn the name of Paisen from Nagatoro now, or was it mentioned in any earlier chapters? (where I'm looking, they have ch84)

I'm not sure where his name is first mentioned, but his geek buddies called him "Nao-kun" during the skiing arc.

The latest installment of Yoru no Kuni; it's decent. I do like it that Aimer is showing it via TouTube.

Watched the Shirobako movie; if you haven't watched the original series, don't bother. They crammed all the characters from the original series in basically an hour and a half of plot time, resulting in an incredibly rushed sequence of events that don't allow one to feel anything much(which is ironic, since ).
SpoilerShow
they redid the end of the movie they were making because they felt it was too rushed

PUPARIA is a 3 minute ONA by Shingo Tamagawa. Amazing visuals, wish it was a little longer.
Oh, Shingo was behind the animation of the dinner scene from the 2nd season of 3-Gatsu no Lion, one of my all-time favorites.

Fruits Basket S3 has earned every point of MAL's average of 9. So good, but not a 10 (yet) from me. We'll see what the last two eps bring.

My charms are wasted on Kuroiwa Medaka just started making it into the usual bootlegs and if one likes or needs something funny and light-hearted, it's perfect (and cute and has fanservice written in but not overly so, so far… some legs and some skin and a flash occurred in first 5 chapters.)

Re: What are you watching/reading Q2 2021?
Finished a couple of shows; Mashiro no Oto ended its run pretty much the same way it has throughout: great shamisen playing, overwrought drama. It would win The Furuba Bad Parents award this season if Furuba itself wan't there....
Honestly, the could've left the last couple of moments of Vivy off, and it would've been better, IMO. Still, it was one of the best shows of the season.

Fumi showed a couple of "freebies" on YT yesterday; Scarlet Nexus is your normal tropey teenage sci-fi adventure series that puts Our Heros against mutant alien houseplants. Pass.
I'm not sure what to make of Sonny Boy yet. It could be really good, or trash. The first ep had elements of both. Has Shingo Natsume as director, so I'm betting it will be the former.

I'm going to do next week what I did this week; watch Fruits Basket after To Your Eternity. TYE is going to trash my heart, and I'm going to need Furuba to pick it up and restore it.....

Slime Diaries finished up as the low key SOL that it was. The best parts were Geld and the little goblin girl.

Zombieland Saga: Revenge finished great, with Mappa sinking a good bit of their budget on the last concert.
That ending, tho......

Re: What are you watching/reading Q2 2021?
Wrapping this season up; the best was as good as the best from last season, there just wasn't as many.
Fruits Basket: Final punched all the right emotional buttons for me, but it was just a little too tropey to classify it as a masterpiece.
Higehiro fiddled around way too long with Sayu's "healing" on the trip back to her home, then finished off with I think the show wasted a lot of potential by choosing the path that it did.
86 was one of the best shows of the season, but what happened to Spearehead was a little too vague. I'm guessing it will clear things up when the second season opens in the fall.
Nagatoro was done as well as I had hoped; I know it's not everyone's cuppa, but I liked it. The ending was perfect!
Nomad was also a great show, though the final fight was underwhelming. I did like how it ended with the ghost of Nanbu in the back of the truck, drinking a beer.
Moriarity fell off a bit at the end; Sherlock's "we could've been BFFs!!!" was ehhhhhhh....
To Your Eternity? Yep, stomped the old heart flat, then nuked it.
I do hope BNHA picks it up the next cour. The previous arc was meh.

For those of you who are looking forward to Wonder Egg Priority's finale, don't bother. Half of its' 46 minutes is recap, the rest of it is a mess, with a potential promise of a season 2, though it wasn't explicitly stated. If they do have a S2, I probably won't bother.
