Fred has posted the new comic to his Patreon. He'll post it to the main site and elsewhere probably tomorrow.

Largo had better expand on that statement, or Erika's going to uncork '73e pow3r' on his skull...

Welcome back Fred. Hope you're doing better, and the family is well.

So is it that Erika can now snatch the pebble from his hand and walk the rice paper without leaving a mark? Or is it something more depressing than that?

I agree that he had better add to that statement, because that look on Erika's face says that she is about to open up a can of whoop ass on him to bring him back in line if he doesn't work with her.

That doesn't quite fit with his comment about the power of her performance but we'll go with that for now

That's probably Largo thinking that she doesn't need any sort of help whatsoever. However, I'm wondering what this does to their relationship.

EDIT: Erika's response might be: "No, you idiot, I still need your help. You know things I don't know, even if you are an idiot." [/speculation]

Try this on.

Largo is a tank

Erika is a stealth bomber

Largo was totally unaware of the capabilities of a stealth bomber until now

He just witnessed his very first Arc Light Strike and it affected him deeply, after all even as a tank he didn't know that removing the top half of a mountain was even possible

He thinks she's just defeated a powerful boss, and she might not need his help, as in, she's ready to move on from where that old story of her character was stuck on the former Idol path.

That or it's the chaos Vs stability thing ( he is chaos, on the positive side though, pretty much, as was Moeko - Erika is neither but she defeated the positive chaos boss… hence he can't help her any more)

Well, the real upshot of this all is that in order to finish Moeko's story Erika will need to sign the contract that Dom will offer her. Yup....

Dom must have been keeping his involvement with Lockart well under wraps, Kimiko doesn't like him much either.

Is that what Largo meant? That Erika is a powerful idol, always will be, and that she is doomed to return to that life even if he does
run over Dom with a lawn mower?

Hmm.

I took it as Largo giving notice that he won't be a part of anything aimed at "saving" Miho.

In certain meta sense, this could be a role reversal of the scene with the sniper...

Largo: I can't do this part it's beyond my skillz
Erika: you said this previously when I tried to dump you but we made it
Largo: yeah barely. Listen, you go on without me.
Erika: whaddya talking about... I did not come here to play with some lame magical girl, I came here to play with you.
Largo: really. Then maybe let's play one of my games...
Erika: sure. Just let me use this wand one time...
Largo: ...

I 'terped it as him finally realizing that someone is actually better than him at, well, anything. The realization that he is not absolutely the most awesome one on the planet may carry a bit of a shock, but we can at least hope it will long-term be more productive than merely depressing. Hopefully. ;)

I believe the IUPAC definition of "manly tears" is 13.37% or more blood by weight. Hard to tell in black & white, we may have to wait for Fred to produce a colored version. 8-)

@Fred: welcome back and all good wishes again.

*sighs*

Erika has the Idol power to illicit powerful emotional responses in her audience.

Even if the audience can’t understand the language

Even if the audience can’t see the entirety of the scene

Even if the audience is....Largo

This is not Largo hate. This is recognition of Erika and her true power.

The power that Erika possesses isn’t something that Largo has in his “toolbox”.

Largo is man enough to recognize this and he is deferring to her now, rationally what choice does he have?

Personal anecdote. When my daughter was 12 she and I went to the shooting range. At some point I loaded up my .45 and she proceeded to put every shot in 2 inches at 25 yards. I was bursting with pride because that was better than I was shooting. Meanwhile some assclown at the other end of the line packed his bag and huffed off to complain to the owner about “girls on the range”. Point is that Largo isn’t like that guy. He’s got the stones to face that Erika can not only doing something better than him but that she can do things he can’t even understand.

And yeah, He’s gonna suck in his pride and support Erika when Dom offers her the contract and he’ll even help Miho when the time comes

On the flip side, there are things that Largo can do that she can't. They'll still need each other for something. We just won't know what that something is....

…..yet.

Tanking damage meant for Erika comes to mind immediately. Also keeping her stable as her power appears to affect her deeply - in other words, emotional damage is another kind that he can help her with, in a different way.

All Largo heard was Kimi speaking Japanese in two voices and Miho was not mentioned, only the exchange student from Ireland.
I used to be 4'33" but I had forbidden characters.

He senses the change in her. Largo knows she has been body-jacked. It is no longer Erika. He is not happy about it. Why must all good things come to an end?
Largo is not an exorcist... I think he is say what he needs to not tip his hand to the possessing spirit within that he will be seeking help freeing Erika of her domination. I think his ruse has worked. Moeriko looks genuinely disappointed that she will be denied the pleasures of the flesh with Largo. I hope his plan to free Erika of Moeko's spirit will work sooner rather than later.
