Heh... Yuki and Junpei need to team up for an "instant makeover" TV show.

I also can't help thinking of the Martial Arts Fashion practiced by the Kolhotz High Fashion Club in the Ranma 1/2 skating arc.

Yuki is the hero we never dreamed was possible. ^u^

And I think Yuki and Kuno1 are going to get along great! XD

It's hard to tell, but... in panel 4, is Yuki head walling? Mentally preparing for the sudden pantsing? Or just turning to look now that something more serious has come up?

Speaking of… I hope Ririka (I think?) is OK. Apparently the battle has been raging pretty steadily since Megumi-taxi made its getaway, so who knows how crazy it’s been… Obviously bystanders are getting caught up in all this. Kinda makes me wish my respawn theory is correct…

So now that Yutaka has been pantsed, will he listen and stay or go anyway? I was thinking it was weird Yuki pantsed him after telling him to stay, since not pantsing him might keep him there… but then, when she came back, with Ririka hopefully, it’d be even more embarrassing with him pantsless and mom there too. ^.^;

I wonder if Yutaka has phoned his dad and brother about all this? Or would he assume they wouldn’t believe him? What does Yutaka know about what’s going on anyway? “She’s down there trying to help” isn’t much to go on…

I can't put my head around it .. how do you put someones pants on without lifting his feet?
Did she blazingly fast open the seams of his pants, wrap it around his legs and re-sew?
Panteportation?

Way back when Yuki was hurling heavy appliances at zombies without seeming to touch them (the appliances that is), it was pointed out in the discussion thread that she can evidently steal stuff without physically grabbing it... she just "wants it to be stolen" so to speak (and it ends up more or less where she wants it, again without her having to lug or heft it). See also when she stole the zilla without smashing the intervening plate glass, or when she stole the zombie zilla without leaving any meat on the hooks. Maybe paarfi is right and the teleportation theory has been thoroughly coffin-nailed, but some of us are still in a bit of denial about that. ;)

Anyway, if you believe all of that, the answer is simple. She just un-stole his pants. :D

Nice double entendre in that first panel, Fred.
So it is rescue mode rather than the healing touch of love? Well... rescuing people is right and proper as opposed to a quickie with a lightning fast magic girl who has barely begun her training, hard knocks style. I rekon Kobi would be getting the lionshare of the hard knocks but they say "love is a battlefield."

Who says she didn't lift his feet?

Instead of lifting his feet by bending his torso, she lifted his whole body, positioned the pants underneath, and then they slip right on.

Or if the tesseract theory is correct, perhaps she just bent space so that the pants where underneath him and slipped them on.

Heck, even normal speed you could probably help him get the pants on by just balancing him so he get his pants on by bending his knees instead of his torso.

However Yuki did it, fast, warp, magic, she pretty much must have, since apparently she's the only one who could have and is visibly the only one there to do so. Discounting Yutaka of course.

For the head banging question, panel 4 similar to 1 2 3, Yuki just looks like she's staring elsewhere, opposite him, at the wall or door or anything. At least until she screams in his face, like a nervous thing and a distraction as she gets him more dressed than he was.

Timeline-wise, what we've been seeing since reaching Yuki on top of Tsukimiya is quite apparently a rewind to what she has been doing today while all the rest went on, essentially during all the story parts from 1434 to 1488, so far. Whatever overlap there was/is will be interesting. (Although we still don't really know exactly what Yuki was doing last chapter after we last saw her, last night, between chapters, or earlier this morning. Maybe some of that will be in there as well.)

As far as timing, it looks like it rewound to a few minutes after when we first started the chapter, Miho not dead in 1434 is before what we're seeing now. Piro tries making phone calls, Kimiko gets to Komugiko's room, there are various conversations, Miho starts panicking. Then Yuki on the roof, one of the many things we didn't get info on before.

When, it would seem from events that the last panel of 1489 is what happened in panel 7 of 1444. So, back to see what Yuki did starting in 1444, however long that continues. We could rewind to others also, or maybe Yuki's adventures will cover all the rest who might show up and more. Maybe it will break off and follow different paths, or just Yuki until she gets to what she's been doing more recently.

Which less recently, it involved Kobayashis. First Yutaka, then a hunt for his mother and? I don't offhand remember though if we ever saw what was going on with Ririka, at least not specifically. Really not much anyone in particular by name who works at the hospital itself during that big smoky battle ongoing from when it starts in 1444 to even after Piro Miho Megumi drove off in 1482, and what ever might happen after once we get back.

If we get back. ;)

What a good girlfriend. Even with the worry and distraction of having to go find his mom, she still remembers to help him put his pants on.

Well, that answers the question I had in the previous thread.

Now, I suspect that his mother will have survived this, but the cell phone did not...

....unless, of course, the plot demands otherwise. :o

These two are so cute together. Yuki's care for Kobayashi is really heart warming. I always feel good after reading a page like this. ^_^

Poor, poor Chewtoy. Is that the first time he's called her Yuki with no honorific? Somehow that says more about their relationship than pants (or lack thereof).

It also reminded me of Junpei fixing Mugi's lack of button discipline.

I can’t add anything to what Roborat and Dragonix have already said. I totally agree. =)

Thanks, Fred! — and also for the update/cliffhanger on Ririka…

His Mom. Pheww, as bad as his mom being in danger is, I was worried this was all about getting Yuki to handle his pants. I mean I was worried that Fred was going to make Kobi a bad guy we thought was the love interest like Hans from Frozen. It would explain why Yuki couldn't sense he was in love with her, because he wasn't. Inability to get your pants on in a hospital full of orderlies and nurses wouldn't explain why normally cool and calm Kobi was so flustered, but his Mom possibility being injured would. Panic spreads from his Mom to his inability to do the first step necessary to go look for her (get his pants on) brains freeze, Yuki distracts. His behavior is acceptable in this light.

And concerning the magical pantsing..

This is fiction involving super powers and magic. Fantasy. The normally impossible by virtue of physical laws is best ignored lest we kill the cat girls. Superman flies, Usagi cuts down four story monsters with a tiara, Santa goes up and down chimneys, (and so does the Grinch.)

hmmm

Normally although,
when feet are not lifted
pants won't go onna,
if Teen Ninjas can do it,
then so can Sonada.

uh..

I'm more concerned about what effect knowing that Yutaka's mom is hurt is having on Yuki's psyche. If she learns that Miho was responsible, is there a chance she could go dark (a la Madoka Majica)?

If it's anything it's more a curiosity of what exactly Yuki did. But she did it, and we know she can do such things, so on a number of levels it really doesn't matter how or what we call it. Besides, she's a Magical Girl, which answers itself. Like according to Meimi MG are immune to zombie poison, why, magic. The details aren't in themselves really all that important.

For Yutaka, he's not given much of if even a hint of the suave sophisticated trickster vibe anyway. Which is part of why it's interesting to see normally somewhat aloof Yuki being the one nervous and worried about him, if Yutaka was the opposite of innocent and naive it wouldn't be cute at all. Still yes it's very nice to know why besides being damaged that he's more unsure and sort of lost than he usually is.

So, Ririka. And all the other fine staff and family.

The main thing is that appears 1489 overlaps with 1444. Taking that as true and a clue, from 1444 on there was not much apparent there about what might have happened to any number of other people, or anything else we didn't see. Which would make sense, going back to learn these things and all sorts of other things.

Actually, since Yuki is not in the vicinity of the hospital when she is musing about kissing Yutaka (notice that she went home to change) that means that the last two panels of 1489 could just as easily overlap with 1466 (when Largo fired off the anti-tank missile). Or some other explosion that happened after Piro escaped from the hospital.

In fact, if Yutaka has spent 20 minutes trying to get his pants on so he can go see what is happening with his mother, then it's very likely that 1466 is the earliest explosion that could overlap with 1489. That would mean assuming that it took 20 minutes from 1444 to 1466, with his mother being caught in the first explosion.

@darrin: Un-stealing the pants feels right, or maybe stole Yutaka into the pants... or maybe even stole his pantslessness? Has anyone considered phasing? I guess if you want something less reality bending, she could've timed slipping the legs on for when he lifted his feet to take a step... maybe even appearing in his face to make him step back?

@iffy: 1492 panel 4, you can see Largo and Erika fighting in a crowd. This doesn't make sense to be happening until at least a little after Piro slipped away from the fight. So we're currently pretty close to the same timeframe as before the switch to Yuki's perspective, possibly having no jump back at all.

I dunno, if she's looking somewhere in the current strip panel 4, it seems more like she's turning to look back at him than away... Panel 2 she isn't turning again, it's just a different camera angle.

@Roborat: Yuki would die if she heard someone call her "Yutaka's girlfriend." ^///^

@Dragonix: The awkwardness is super cute to watch!♥ Funny to think this is a very fast moving relationship for their age, by Japanese standards... ^.^;

@NinjaDefenestrator: Yutaka uses the honorific 'chan' here, though usually he uses 'san.' While it's still an honorific, technically, it's a much more familiar one... and Yuki doesn't seem to notice, at least not once he mentions his mom.

Sweater and poodle dress in 1417 'some time ago' and jeans jacket in 1489, there's been a change certainly. How lengthy was that time gap? Yuki might have had enough time to sleep-ish even, depending on what she was doing. Given how much time it might have been, she could have not so much changed clothes as put on new ones when she awoke from nap time. She's not apparently been out all night. Got up and started fretting upon her actions and such. Or not. Depends on what time she 'attacked' Yutaka and where she went to worry about it. That's rather unanswerable as to what and if any of the details matter all that much anyway.

Wherever she was at the start of 1489, in panel 5 when she grabs her face (if we count the insert into and the cityscape as panel 1) and in 6 when she leaves her perch, she lands pretty quickly in 7, apparently. So if she was not on some communication tower of Tsukimiya, or nearby somewhat a building or two, probably fairly close. (although with her, who knows how far) Depending on if she travels then swoops or just swoops or what.

Yeah though panel 4 of 1492 appears to be that pipe being swung around etc, which was more like 1467 1468. Agreed. Which would mean that where ever Yuki was, she might not have been close/flown close, or gone over the top, might not have seen whatever happened before. Until she sees the results in 1492 finally. Then that would mean she landed in 1489 7 past it, not too near the initial destruction, heard/felt and then noticed something which could very well be Largo firing a rocket into a wall.

If that is a rocket from around 1470, then we have gone back still to before the initial fighting was over, while Piro was rescuing Kimiko as she was distracting from Miho and they were both Piro and Kimiko changing the stories. That would be before however long it took Megumi to go get the car and return and find Piro and Kimiko. Which all that would seem to be about as lengthy as it took the rest before it, Kimiko diffusing the situation and dressing up to mimic.

However, we could also make a case that we haven't gone back at all, that maybe Yuki noticed nothing out of place even though lots of it was, until seeing it in 1489 7 and 1492 4. Yuki didn't get here beforehand. That we are still in the same timeline, and it's just that Largo and Erika are still fighting from before, which Yuki sees the continuation of ongoing. That Erika called in fans in 1468, who got there around or after Megumi Piro Kimiko drove off, that all the destruction Yuki sees in 1492 is the old stuff, and the explosion in 1489 was new current fighting after all.

That Yuki is just now showing up after everything from chapter start to apparent escape has already happened seems possible.

How long is it each from Miho awakening to tearing things up, from that to Kimiko taking over, to Piro arriving and taking her away, to Megumi finding them, getting the car, and them getting to it and her taking them all away. Where does this fit in, or is it after. :sigh:
