Fred posted the new comic last night to his Patreon. It should be going up on the main site later today.

Paniky Yuki is adorable.

Like the pose in the first panel and the layout. Fred was stressing on this, but I think it came out great.

Is poor Yakuta goona get panic-hugged again? Poor kid's never gonna heal at this rate.

Kobayashi may want to run...To avoid a potentially life-threatening, glomping.

So here we have Yuki on Yutaka's bed, and in the background Yutaka is putting on his pants. Good thing Ririka doesn't seem to be around. :)

I like how you can just make out Largo's hair and Erika's bunny ears and pipe in panel 4. Must be quite a battle going on with teh horde.

He's not even putting them on, just holding them up. Maybe he was getting dressed?

Also, the little montage confirms Yuki is moving through the intervening space when she appears somewhere.

Yup, another nail in the coffin for the teleporting theory.

Any bets on the next strip featuring Yuki and a nearly(?) naked Yutaka flying through Tokyo? That's one way of introducing a boy to your parents.

That, and it looks like Largo and Erika are having a helluva time with the Horde. It may be time for Erika to deploy her on-board weapons systems.

Would seem to lean towards this not being a flashback then, as had been speculated in the 1489 thread.

I love Yutaka's mental debate, visible on his stunned face: "Do I have time to put on these pants, or is she gonna yank me somewhere else first?"

I'd thought at first glance panel 4 was Miho with her bedrail chained handcuff thing (whatever was going on during 1445-1449) because it happens right at the start of the destruction. And also that the flyby through the corridors in panels 7 8 9 10 was showing getting to the hospital room through more normal timespace.

It makes more sense for what they're doing, that the first is Largo&Erika battling hordish types around can't you feel it? and noClip and the second is Yuki moving at superspeed like when she was looking for Miho in noclip.

Well whatever it is and whenever whatever it is is, it is pretty clear this is a return to Yuki seeing the destruction as it happens. That we're getting another view and perspective (and maybe finding out how we got to now's special things) of what was going on while Kimiko stood in and Piro was absconding and Junpei and Megumi were helping.

Yukata accidentally drops his pants in shock, seconds before his mother walks in, hilarity ensues.....

By the way, notice that Yuki must have gone home and changed, since here she is wearing pants, and last we saw her (when she kissed Yukata) Yuki was wearing a skirt.

Awwwwww — just came home from a midweek without WiFi… Oh, I really like this page!

Thanks for the Yuki-emo, Fred! Great ‘Fun Cliffhanger’™ there!

Yuki: "Did he just, like, *poof*!?"

Thinking about it, if Kobayashi wasn't changing his pants right then, he may need to now. After all, having Yuki just appear like a bolt of lightning, might be a bit.........surprising.

He's been trying to put on his pants for 20 minutes, per the next strip.

Yup, another nail in the coffin for the teleporting theory.
There could be a difference in how Yuki moves when she's looking for something (Miho or Yutaka at hospital) or trying to get away from something (Miho at bathhouse) or trying to get somewhere not critically fast (following directions to the hospital, taking Miho to the Dance of the Evils). Versus when she's moving a (potentially) massive and (visibly) huge target far away from scans (zilla from TPCD) or getting some place in a super hurry (to yoink Yutaka away from Mami and Asako).

Does any of that fit some definition of teleportation? We don't know if MG can move to other time streams or dimensions or universes. Perhaps MG lack the ability to do anything but go super fast and so can't go places where teleportation would be needed. Although one of the MG appears to be a witch, do spells that move things count as teleportation? Not that we've seen such spells necessarily, so maybe it's not really a question other than does Megatokyo have witches and what can their spells do.

A good argument against anyone or anything being able to actually zap from one place to another is that we probably have the answer for how to move randomly far distances quickly, and that's apparently by gapping. Although that assumes gapping isn't a teleportation mechanism, which if it is then it might be the opposite, a good argument for zapping from one place to another. Although if we're defining teleportation as something that converts matter to energy, moves energy, converts back to matter, then to start with there seems little indication that's what anyone has done. Although the exceptions might be Yuki with zilla from TPCD, or Miho with Piro from bathhouse to school. And anything we haven't seen that might be.

Speed is perhaps the better answer. Miho jumps out of range of killball blasts at the diner with Kimiko (and might have done the same at Ikebukuro alone) and that is fast. And seemingly not appreciably faster than catching a fleeing MG that required no distance moved. Or going from hospital to CoE, or (potentially) moving a zilla. So really does anyone even need some sort of 'instantaneous matter transmission mechanism' to begin with. Although we could argue that creating a localized field that does something like ignore normal physics or expand the entropic system size and scope could be considered teleportation, that's a matter of definition not implementation.

Although we might all agree that however Piro and Miho moved from the bathouse to school, it didn't appear to be fast or normal. But was it, or anything else anyone has done that might be moving beyond normal spacetime, telportation. :iiam:

Wouldn't a tesseract be the best way to describe what Miho and Yuki do?

No more than a cube is a good description of what normal people do.
