Yay! That's hilarious.

For refrerence, Cha-san was mentioned back in [1118]. She was the one who originally shrunk zomzom down to fun size. Cha-san appears to be ChaCha from Akazukin ChaCha [wikipedia]. So another of Meimi's magical girl friends from the old days. There are some episodes of Akazukin ChaCha up on youtube.

Fred has posted an earlier drawing of Zomzomeko to his tumblr. Apparently this was inspired a bit by the Dragon Maid anime.

This is an unexpected bit of joy :)
Yea, verily: Who is that, running on the steppes! It is Sax, clutching buzzsaw hand extensions! He howls homicidally:
"I'm seriously going to pound you into the fast lane!!!"

Oh, yeah, I wrote Ping some backstory once.

OK, so when Fred said that the comic is going in a dark direction, what he meant by "dark" was "bonkers".

Love the character designs in this. Also love how it took Memi a week an a half to do something about the fact that that her husband and son were vulnerable to the creature that she decided to bring in to the house...by bringing back the person who shrank Zom Zom in the first place and who, oh, I don't know, could have done this at the time.

Since we've been treated to some rather hilarious stuff so far for "starting the next day" either the day is going to be taking a decidedly different turn or else someone is having a very bad morning indeed

I expect Zom-Zom to form an awkwardly close attraction to Kobayashi, resulting in more hospital visits and a few more scars.

Ok, we start with an incantation gone hilariously wrong, now let's see how akward things in the Sonoda household get with a hot little Dragon Girl running around. Let's see if this means that the other parallel storylines are going to take a sudden detour into the absurd. (Or at least absurd by MT standards )

Whiskey.

Tango.

FOXTROT.

(On the plus side, I am now spared the need to put any effort into pretending I think I have any clue what the hell is going on in the comic. Should make my life much simpler. 8-))

What, the wacky witch woman turned the zombie zilla into a non-zombie humanish version, what.

Maybe it's time for Yuki's brother to take a more prominent spot, and not much might be better than some more cross-species romanticals. That's just another crazy day at the Sonoda house though.

The burning question might be Yuki's location. Unsurprisingly not at home certainly. She's been where doing what since last time we saw her gallivanting about? Wherever it is, she's up to no good no doubt. Masquerading, scheming, fixing things, manipulating events, waiting in the wings, speedily doing this and that and the other.

That though brings up another one, are her current high jinks 'n' shenanigans gonna end up with the seemingly correct results (for what she or we think the actions are trying to accomplish). For a change. Or will it be more things like hiding people where they aren't really hidden at all (because two people are on the way there to start things back up again). Perhaps another better question is if Yuki has been doing everything just as the stories exactly demand they be happening.

Okay, so we didn’t get Ping => frog.

Instead, we got a hilarious Zom-Zom => girl.

*thumbs up*

Thank you, Fred!!!

I also loved Meimi putting on that TPCD helmet!!!

=D

By the way, those eyes of Cha, in panel 5 — have we ever seen eyes like those in MT so far? Nice! =D

How 'bout these (also panel 5).

Hmm... given the facial similarities in those two panel fives, plus the very similar levels of epic ditziness... will Cha-san turn out to be Asako's mom?

EDIT:

Well you did say "like" not "exactly like". ;)

Anyway, I really love the transitions in Cha-san's eyes between panels 5, 6, and 9:
"This is gonna be FUN!"

"I totally know what I'm doing!"

"... Wut?"

That’d be fun, yes! Even (Mega)Tokyo may turn out to be a lot smaller than previously assumed. But Asako is showing an ultra-happy mental gridlock facial expression snap there. I don’t really think that’s the same level of …starlight enchantment? …as we get to see here.

=)

On a side-note: I loved your "Should make my life much simpler"-statement! :P

And thus is Zom-Zom made less poisonous, which remains to be seen, yet surely more dangerous. Is she simply to remain in Yuki's little band? Or will she gravitate towards one of the other characters outside of Yuki's influence? Perhaps one that she's already been in contact with? (I'm looking at YOU, Largo.)

Listen! Can you hear the MegaTokyo-space singing?

Zom-Zom has some feet!

I think that the ripples are spreading out from the start of the new Story. :D

Well, I think the end result of this spell is the reason why she didn't ask her to do it at the time. Really, this is totally within character of the anime character Fred is paying homage to. It gave me a smile I needed today. Looks like ZomZom still has the tongue and tail.

On the appearance of Zomiko here my first thought was to quote Summer from "Rick and Morty" screaming "Pants! Put some pants on!" But that big honkin' tail is gonna pose serious problems for any attempt at giving her a decent (in both senses of the word) wardrobe. That sucker is thicker around than her leg. Try to make a skirt or shorts with a hole for the tail and it will be more hole than cloth.

Assuming they can solve that problem, and Zomiko does get out into the world, then things will get sticky if she does encounter Largo as Grimchar hints above. Largo will suss immediately that she is a zombie (of some kind or other) and the consequences will be violent (or at least mayhemic ).

Jenkies. At this rate we will be back on a M-W-F schedule as in the olden days. Awesome work Fred!

EDIT:
Ah, now I see what happened (going by Cha-san's face in panel 9). When Cha-san realized what was going on, she tried to stop the transformation process in the middle, leaving a decidedly un-transformed tail firmly attached to poor Zomiko's backside.

Okay, So this was pretty funny.
Poor Zom-Zom is now supposedly less poisonous, and now a 'zilla girl.
I suppose this points out why Cha-san, did not simply do the non-poisonous bit when she first shrank Zom-Zom. Whoops! Meimi putting on the TPCP cap was amusing too.
I am starting to think that the things gone awry may have something to the repercussions of Miho's storyline shifting. :geek:
