[1602] a normal girl in a lot of trouble
Fred has posted the new comic to his Patreon. He'll post it to the main site and elsewhere probably tomorrow.
Fred also said this in his post to Patreon
This took way too long. All the computer problems and eventual collapse of my old systems and replacing my old system and switching from mac to windows and... yeah, lots of chaos. Too long. but it came out right, in the end. Getting used to a lot of new things here, but at least the computer stuff isn't in my way anymore, finally. Now it's just me. Been looking for a replacement but used Mes are hard to find Anyways, enjoy - got a bunch of stuff to post here as i catch up. Thank you so much for your support during this slow stretch.

Who wants to switch from Mac to Windows though? Things must indeed be desperate...

Wonder who that is peeking from behind the door? I'm sure Fred feels Isekai'd after going to a Windows PC, but I have faith he'll figure it out!

Re: [1602] a normal girl in a lot of trouble
Yay for the comic
Looks like Ping has a lot to process now...
The comic looks like it lost nothing of its technical and artistic value - but producing it on a PC now must feel to be like a massive +100% credibility from Largo (the character... Does the RL Largo know....?)
(Well tbh the interface of Windows had morphed with #10 and #11 it's much better than it used to be IMO)
Thanks for the comic Fred, great as always

So - That's Ping beyond the door right? I'm seeing an earblade.
Re: [1602] a normal girl in a lot of trouble
Hmmmmm, the plot thickens. Now we are about to bring Great Grandma into the picture. So what secrets are going to come to the surface. The big question is what sort of chaos will insue when the truth comes out.

Re: [1602] a normal girl in a lot of trouble
About Fred having to learn how to operate a Windows machine instead of an Apple machine ....... Well, I've never used an Apple machine, but I've also never driven a Ferrari. I suppose that Apples, like Ferraris, are good for some tasks -- a Ferrari can get you from Point A to Point B in a hurry, and I've heard that Apple machines are great for graphical work, so they would be attractive to Fred.
BUT (you knew that was coming, didn't you?)
Ye olde family station-wagon (or mini-van, these days) will still get you from Point A to Point B reasonably quickly (hey, it beats walking), and Adobe Photoshop "Elements 11" is a reasonably handy-dandy program (I have no idea what Fred uses, and I'm no artist) which runs quickly under Windows 7 on a ten-year-old PC.
(Yes, I just turned sixty, and I get grumpier with every passing year. And real electronic devices glow orange in the dark, and will keep your hot chocolate warm. )
As for the comic, it's another fine job by Fred. Who is that stranger behind that door? Did Great-Grandma sense "a disturbance in the Force" and dispatch spy to look in on the situation?

Hmmmm.....Grandma's a little dodgy on the answers. I smell a rat here.

Re: [1602] a normal girl in a lot of trouble
Actually I think that it's more shock that something that she may have suspected is true. As for Great Grandma, that's another story. I suspect that she knows a lot more about what is going on.

Re: [1602] a normal girl in a lot of trouble
Oh I'm largely joking, there's no one right answer for anything in IT (apart from 1/2" perforations for continuous feed paper because if you start messing eith that then things get messy real fast) and it's not that one OS is "better" than the other, it's more about the sheer effort involved in switching which I would want to avoid.cidjen wrote: ↑Sun Apr 03, 2022 5:05 amI sometimes have to assist some Mac users and I have a perfect use case where using Mac is more hassle than it's worth....mistersaxon wrote: ↑Sun Apr 03, 2022 4:13 amWho wants to switch from Mac to Windows though? Sadly I switch many many times a day because I have one of each - Mac for home and a Windows laptop for work stuff so the auditors are happy. In practice I can do almost everything directly on the Mac because it's all on remote desktops (which are Windows of course).

... and then there's Linux. I mean country and western are both good, but...
Meanwhile, in MegaTokyo, "Being a Kitsune isn't necessarily hereditary, Megumi". That nixes a lot of the inferences used when we tried to reconstruct the family tree. I wonder how it does propogate.

Yeah, there's probably a number of male kitsune running around getting normal girls "in trouble".

Re: [1602] a normal girl in a lot of trouble
The perspective changes a number of times in this comic. I imagine that this is a girl/foxgirl muddle huddle with with jockeying for position, slight pushing, and the squeezing in-between cheeks.

Re: [1602] a normal girl in a lot of trouble
Punk rock?
By magic... or the kitsune power finds compatible people like water seeping out of cracks in the ground (where a 9-tail is more like a fountain in this analogy)Meanwhile, in MegaTokyo, "Being a Kitsune isn't necessarily hereditary, Megumi". That nixes a lot of the inferences used when we tried to reconstruct the family tree. I wonder how it does propogate.
Re: [1602] a normal girl in a lot of trouble
A while back I had predicted this would happen. That Megumi would get very hostile with her Grandma and possibly (and yet to be determined) her Great Grandma. Grandma came oh so close to being turned into a pillar of ash (or whatever is the result of a retributive strike from a nine-tail). Megumi CLEARLY, for a brief moment, was behaving to her Grandma as if Grandma was BAD. Really bad. Fortunately for Grandma (and kudos to the author for coming up with a nice way out of a potentially bad scene), Grandma had a plausible excuse and was able to calm Megumi. I'm not so sure Great Grandma is going to have a just as acceptable excuse, though. Great Grandma also seems to leave something to be desired in the "calming" department. There could be a looming fight between the old eight-tail and our new nine-tail. I wonder which would win out. Experience or raw power?

Nine tail wins hands down but at a terrible price. We really don't want to see that happen. Though Fred being Fred you never know....
