It was being said there is a thread of broadly defined 'fights' with female boss-level characters in the comic - first was a few parts story of subjugating Kimi, then Erika, then Yuki, then Junko (and/or Ping) (not counting Nija Grandma or Yakugashi), so I guess, now it's Gumi's turn? (not counting Miho out of the thread yet, because technically she was just 'saved' - though an idea of Gumi ultimately subjugating Miho just sprouted in my head, as in, who knows if it actually will be taking joint efforts from Gumi the 9 tail, Erika the Bunny Queen, and Kimi, the Girl With Power, to ultimately make Miho obedient to the protagonist's will

Well. At least we know other people, even those with aggressive normal-vision like Piro, can see Megumi’s new accoutrements. Anyone care to guess whether or not she’ll make them disappear without realizing it, effectively punting the issue down the road a bit? Either that or the discovery will shock her (and everyone else) so much that she’ll be out of commission for awhile as her family tries to figure out what the hell just happened. I’m curious to see how grandma handles it- the one currently at the hotel, not the scary one.

(Let me have my speculation! Keeps the intervals between comics interesting.)

Piro still doesn’t seem very excited or happy about his current circumstances, despite Kimiko’s alluring glances and kisses. Aside from one shy glance in the previous comic that was immediately squashed by a truckload of Self Esteem Issues, he just looks overwhelmed and stressed out.

On a different note, I’ve always wondered why the guys of Megatokyo have such tiny, simplified eyes compared to the women- highlighted here by Piro’s expression next to Megumi’s. This is not meant as criticism, just an observation and me being curious about the style choice. Fred does a perfect job of conveying emotion in the dudes as well (even Largo, who has lines for eyes and whose expression rarely changes). It’s just such a stark difference.

Awesome sauce! Love the full tail fluff, someone call the Cataclysm Police. Poor Piro, one kiss and it's back into the trenches.

Too bad she didn't turn up about 10 minutes later. Also, I love the last panel.

I don't think that's proven yet. He could easily be just surprised to see a grumpy Megumi. I'm not saying you're wrong, but I think we need to wait a bit longer to be sure.

Now that is a behind full of tails fluffed out in irritation... is a phrase I never imagined typing in the forums. What a brave new year it is.

Ohhh, I am going to be SO P.O.'d if Piro hasn't noticed the ears and tails. This would end up being one of those terribly cliche'd moments that is so annoying and all too common in anime. "Let's just keep up the pretense, dum dee dum dee dum........"

Haha, TTDP #1, panel 22 "Maybe if I had bigger tits, no one would notice [my ears]. It works for some of my cousins..." Cleavage is a potent SEP field generator.

Also I don't feel as if it's unfair under the circumstances for Piro to say 'yes, you are interrupting something, now what are you so pissy about? Don't spoil the moment'.

I think # 886 expresses it nicely either way. I suspect she'd be very approving of the fact that Piro actually does have a spine, much as Erika was. On the other hand, spine removal might well be on the menu if cranky Kitsune is especially cranky this morning. It would be pretty funny to see her face when he did it though, for sure.

Or if Kimi appeared, braced Piro from behind and said something like
"Ohai Gumi, are you OK'? I see you're pissed off. Come in and take a seat. And now Piro, sit here between us. Yes. Like that. And now, synchronized backflip!"
