Poor Junko.
For important context on this comic, check out this comic with Mr. Ibara [1159] and this one with Mrs. Ibara [1294].
I do not like Junko's parents. At all.

Re: [1486] - Not Working
Ping's hair is having an 80's revival.

Re: [1486] - Not Working
Adorable. There needs to be a full sized copic version of that first frame.
It has kind of a troubling side to it, though: that teddy bear looks like it has been the recipient of some serious frustration. We are reminded of why in the penultimate frame.
Geeze, her dad's a real prize, isn't he? A thousand hugs for Junko when we first met him and a bushel of hugs now.
And Ping: something major is up with her. Not just the hair, but internal clock failure? Fred has repeatedly said that he's taking MT in a dark direction and it is sounding less and less like typical Fred Angst. Is Ping going to be the catalyst of doom?

Re: [1486] - Not Working
Guess what? You need a LOT of hair to have long twintails like that.
This puts Ping up in my estimations; she has the same hair problems I do in the mornings. Only she probably can't reach back to comb her own hair.

Re: [1486] - Not Working
and not just her hair - look at her eyes - doesn't one look....different?
Re: [1486] - Not Working
It's a nice thing about MT that there is more than one thing to appreciate. I'm feeling awful for Junko cause her Dad came into her bedroom while she was asleep and stole all the money out of her purse. But everyone else can't stop talking about Ping's hair.

Yeah Ping's eyes are different as well. The obvious suspect in having her wallet cleaned out is her father. However what has been established in the past is that he directly mooches off of her so it's possible that this time there's something different going on
Also, that's some seriously aggressive snuggling by Ping in that top frame

1. How many of us had Ping'a shirt when we were younger?
2. How many of us have no idea what that shirt represents?

Re: [1486] - Not Working
It has been nearly three years since we last saw Ping. In comic-time at least, not including two DPDs. (33 months)
I don't know why, but it's kind of sweet seeing Ping and Junko together like that. Junko may come across as unpleasant at times... and she may have mistreated Ping initially... but she actually cares. At this point I have to wonder if anyone else does. Will Piro ever think of Ping if he doesn't see her? Would Miho, with all her problems?
She has no one else. And Junko took her in. I don't know why that touches my soul like it does.
Thank you, Fred. I know this comic was giving you some issues. But I think you did damn good with this one. Damn good.

Re: [1486] - Not Working
Yeah, it does for me too. But it's also a problem for Ping. As an EDS, she's co-dependent by design. She latched onto Piro, then Miho, and now Junko. And as much as I love Ping and want to see her happy, I really hope someday she can learn to stand on her own.Tangent wrote: ↑Thu Jul 27, 2017 12:55 pmI don't know why, but it's kind of sweet seeing Ping and Junko together like that. Fred even drew that once. A grown-up, confident, independent Ping, who still loves her friends but doesn't rely on them for her happiness.

Junko is good people - in spite of it all (and there's a lot of "all" to be in spite of)

Re: [1486] - Not Working
I can't believe all you folks paying $400pa to have a photobucket account. I'mma find me somewhere else to go for this shizz - although it'd be kinda nice if the server would host avatars directly.
Sorry, off topic, but then maybe the image of Ping's eyes is hosted on photobucket and that's why they've changed?

Re: [1486] - Not Working
first thought; wild night ladies? -then I noticed pings ear blades- oh! its Ping and Junko! haven't seen ya'll in awhile.
I wonder if they are going to get enveloped in the current shenanigans with Kimiko and the like, trying to break Miho from her story.

Okay, can't be a hundred percent sure since we're catching the tail-end of this, but there's enough to suggest the possibility of Ping having activated her "H-mode".
Like I said, can't be a hundred percent sure....

Re: [1486] - Not Working
1. It's been a long time since we've seen Junko and Ping.
That's some serious snuggling there in the first panel. Have to wonder what all they where up to before they finally slept.
2. Have to wonder what all is going on for Ping, since apparently her features changed. The shift to the big hair, eye color change, and her internal system malfunctioning?
3. Junko's parents are god awful to her, and apparently her friends/guests.
4. I suppose Junko's house, and or district was spared from the destruction.
~shadowrider (Now we wonder where Fredrin is going with this now.)

Re: [1486] - Not Working
I know all characters need their screen time, but man am I happy to get a few Ping frames. I sure missed her.
Re: [1486] - Not Working
It's quite something, Ping's hair. In the first panel it's kind of short. About 10 seconds later, it goes *poof*! No wonder Junko is surpised I suspect this means that Ping is changing story roles again. I wonder if she thinks she is Junko's lover now? And yes, it looks like her eyes are different colors (hererochromia). Anybody recognize a charter she might be based on?
If I were to see Ping as an anime character without any knowledge of background, I'd think Wild Child, good-hearted, passionate, and intense. Hell on wheels if you get on her wrong side. That would be quite a change for Ping but she's built to adapt.

Re: [1486] - Not Working
It's not short, just not frizzed up.

re-looking over that first panel... didn't realize that Junko is sandwiched between Pings legs.... ooh where the dirty mind goes..... *looks over at mistersaxton* So sax, how does it feel to not get invited to the party? you're a Junko fan-boy and wrote Ping some backstory once (assuming non-canon story), and yet there they are, at the end of what appears to be a wild night.

Re: [1486] - Not Working
Why do all the pluche animals in MT get some serious duct tape treatment? This one even looks like it’s been cut open and restuffed… =/
Guess I feel sorry for all three characters in this comic… =.(
But still… great to see Junko and Ping again. The BIG hair is just WOW-80’s! And I can imagine Junko being freaked out, not just ‘surprised’ at the sudden change(s)… 8O
Thanks, Fred! =)
P.S. — I just noticed that in the first panel, Junko doesn’t seem to be sure of what to do with the situation: her left hand is like poised, hovering just above Ping’s back. Reminds me of Psygnosis Brataccas — "Mmm shall I …"

What makes you think I missed it? Although it does seem the party carried on for a while after I left (Ultimate self-insertion fantasy)HakuRyoku wrote: ↑Fri Jul 28, 2017 12:58 amre-looking over that first panel... didn't realize that Junko is sandwiched between Pings legs.... ooh where the dirty mind goes..... *looks over at mistersaxton* So sax, how does it feel to not get invited to the party? you're a Junko fan-boy and wrote Ping some backstory once (assuming non-canon story Sax: very much non-canon but plausible I like to think), and yet there they are, at the end of what appears to be a wild night.
No, seriously, I'm happy for them. But Junko had better watch out because Ping definitely has a Pocket Taiga vibe about her with that hair.
