Re: [1514] "Hard to Explain"
Maybe Miho's health is more linked to Piro's own emotions... but more in subtle ways... after all, the fainting spells at the start of the comic sort-of correspond with Piro feeling pathetic too. I would have said Miho's shivering, as the link between Piro and her is deassociated, thanks to Kimiko....

Re: [1514] "Hard to Explain"
That’s not the first time Miho’s gotten goosed since Kimiko started acting as her. Even if Kimiko was back to herself by the time she and Piro started getting busy in the shower, she was still acting while they made out in the car. Are they the ones doing this to Miho? Because...shit, that’s not fa...

If Paarfi is right, then does that mean Kimiko is finally acting the way Fred wanted her to?

Re: [1509] - "the floor is lava"
That room looks like it's a pain in the neck for Ashe to keep clean. As for Kimiko, no more ambiguity. She wants Miho out of Piro's story, in the most effective way she knows how. The previous four comics suggest there is going to be an eventual meeting at The Foxhole of at least three parties: Kimi...

Re: [1508] Somewhere we haven't gone before
Ping is not programmed for "best friend" advice to a girlfriend, instead she is programmed to take on the role of a girl and then training boys on how to properly pursue a romance. I doubt very much that Sony had social training in mind for anyone's benefit. She may be a non-H model, but she's stil...

Re: [1507] "Being Yourself"
Ping's face also seems to be changing, looking more 'real', more like 'other girls', not just body size. Adjusting to real life examples, probably? Yes! Ping is becoming less of a otaku fantasy and more real because of her interactions with the real world (real as far as Megatokyo goes, of course)....

Re: [1507] "Being Yourself"
Tone and text are ambiguous here, but I think Junko realizes that Ping in kind of right. Users are users and playthings are playthings. Though, this may not be a user on the phone. Junko is blushing. That's not a face that says "oh, that client." Or, if it is a user, then maybe she and Ping can help...

Woah. Kind of cold, Yaku. Bad karma comes of that kind of thing.
So does confronting beings that you seem to know nothing of, in a place you aren't supposed to be.

I really, really hope we don't go there again. The whole "this is totally a set up for them having sex but then they don't" thing. Fred's already done that. Either have them consumate or break them up. On top of the train. T And when asked how she is? "Oh. I'm fine. Couldn't be better." That lady g...

Re: [1504] It wasn't for me
Wonder if Kimiko is going to suggest that they log on to Endgames, then she will find out about Pirogoeth's 'little polygon bump'...? That reminds me: Fred has said that William Gibson, and in particular his novel Idoru, are one of his sources of inspiration. There is a scene in Idoru where two you...

Poor Megumi. Her troubles never cease. (I assume those two bottom speech bubbles were grandma over a loudspeaker.) I thought Fred was translating the unspoken communication between Megumi and the woman. (I think Fred named her in chat, but I don't remember) Megumi's finger gesture in panel 8 kind o...

Megumi does not look happy. I suppose this is not the shared Megumi/Mugi kitsune grandma that she's calling here, but her other grandma. Interesting. I think she's decided to be a little mean here. Her grandmother's is presumably a safe place to bring them, but it'll also probably put the kibosh on...

Re: [1500] Trapped on the inside
All the 500 mark comics have had something important about them, and this one is no different. There's certainly a direct link between 500 and 1500. 500 was our first inkling that there was a more complex story involving Erika's past and Otakudom in general, and that Erika's past wasn't done with h...

Largo does have his moments when he can think strategically, and he knows Yuki. If he can also get her to notice his shush gesture - and she is looking in the right direction - she can get out of this with here anonymity intact. If she or Ririka blow it then she faces a life of fulfilling orders pos...

Paniky Yuki is adorable.
Like the pose in the first panel and the layout. Fred was stressing on this, but I think it came out great.
Is poor Yakuta goona get panic-hugged again? Poor kid's never gonna heal at this rate.

Re: [1491] Visiting the Family Shrine [part 2]
So, what I gather here is that Mugi tried to hide her true nature when she was a kid and became self-destructive because of it. If so, then Grams is right. Yaku needs to know what she is, warts and all. Of course, this has risks. Yaku could be scared into an even deeper fear of being Kitsune. She's ...

Whee! According to the Twitter feed, Fred is drawing more Sawatari family stuff on index cards. Camping seems to be a good environment for creativity. I seem to recall Fred having given the family members names at one point. I could have sworn seeing their names penciled onto a copy of Sawatari Fami...

OK, so when Fred said that the comic is going in a dark direction, what he meant by "dark" was "bonkers". Love the character designs in this. Also love how it took Memi a week an a half to do something about the fact that that her husband and son were vulnerable to the creature that she decided to b...
