Re: [1533] But no one else would be

She's a demi-god at the least and now she's in banshee mode. A banshee is far from the scariest denizen of Gaelic folklore: https://myanimelist.cdn-dena.com/s/common/uploaded_files/1441025792-011b34eb2aad93490483fc75662f42ea.png It will be hilarious if any of the ninja manage to slice off Miho's he...

Re: [1533] But no one else would be

"Here I come to save the day!" That means that Tohya Miho's on the way!   Trying to jump Nabiki from behind, eh Miho? I am not surprised. I would file that one under "sow the wind, reap the whirlwind." If granny ninja wanted a "fair" fight then holding an innocent young girl hostage ...

Re: [1532] The battlefield before me

Agreed; I think I mentioned the calm cool coffee drinking a few posts back, … Sorry, I hadn’t meant my observation to sound like an original argument. Oh, sorry, didn't mean it that way... In fact I should I have said more explicitly that I now think I was undervaluing this observation; you'...

Re: [1532] The battlefield before me

-but I see them all hillarious :) Meh, this one was way more brilliant than anything I ever did, just to pick one out of about a bajillion examples. (Sadly so many have become "user posted image" over the decade since I was involved in the scene...) Not withdrawing permission or anything, just maki...

Re: [1532] The battlefield before me

So, um, it's like motion capture for the models of movement, you think the Old Guy is capturing Emotive data for realistic emotion model? Yeah I'd buy that ;) not sure if I'd buy that /game/ but yeah. That's a much better (more "MegaTokyo style") way of putting it than I had in mind. So, yes. :D @d...

Re: [1532] The battlefield before me

So, kiddie porn, eh? (I did hint at this.) Also what happened to 'do not suspect malice if something can be explained by just incompetence' hmm ? :) "Incompetent" isn't the only alternative to "creepy pervert". Again, suppose (not asking anyone to believe this, just considering the range of possibi...

Re: [1533][WIP][TWITCH] swimming back to shore [?], also voting on whether there should be one big Twitch thread

Suggestion: Most of these WIP threads only get one or two comments. Rather than start and lock a new one for every comic, perhaps we could have an ongoing Twitch thread? I think that might make it easier to look for SFS, etc. To the extent my opinion as a non-Twitch-follower counts, I think that's ...

Re: [1532] The battlefield before me

Well, the "pantsu" comment was just dumb. I do consider it far less likely than a lot of the alternatives (including the one I've been backing -- this is not actually an EK creep, but has something significant to do with Ping and was meeting with Junko for (non-EK) reasons directly related to that)...

Re: [1532] The battlefield before me

He digitally collects girls So, ok, not literally (which was very strongly implied in the initial pooh-poohing of Teddy-Werebear's "pantsu" comment), just... digitally. So, pictures and other profile info. Which had already been postulated multiple times by multiple posters at this point. But no, y...

he collects GIRLS.... Like, literally ? Like actually kidnapping (call a spade a spade) actual girls? Big pit in the basement with chains hanging down? "It puts the lotion on its skin, or else it gits th' hose agin?" Yeah, this may be more biased than Bayesian on my part, but I'm gonna file that on...

Re: [1532] The battlefield before me

You are too kind Darrin. Or too biased. Hard to tell sometimes. :( I think Stranger Danger is too absorbed in his world to see the larger world of Megatokyo. It's definitely hard to be certain from just the one panel with the Old Man's face so tiny. Still kinda hoping for a conversation of some kin...

Re: [1532] The battlefield before me

It is not foul Miho to the rescue... she is no hero. Well no, not yet. When Frodo says "I will take the ring, though I do not know the way," he's certainly no hero. Arguably the opposite: he failed to follow Gandalf's instructions, he totally fscked things up on Weathertop, he's been relying on his...

Re: [1532] The battlefield before me

If you think about it, she's the only major or semi-major character in MT without some sort of superlative trait. Maybe she can sing? Except Junko's superlative trait was already established quite some time ago. Junko having such an additional ability would be another unexplained (or at least unfor...

Re: [1532] The battlefield before me

Well, seeing a young lady dressed in a kimono put the beat down on a squad of ninjas, his SEP field probably kicked in. Well I would claim that if the majority are correct about this guy being the Stranger Danger creep who dates high school girls, then such a sight should on the contrary have attra...

Re: [1532] The battlefield before me

Kudos to Yl33 D4 N00b, MoneyMan, and Rapierman for pointing out the flower last panel and its almost certain connection to Miho. (I had wanted to agree with them this morning but was kinda in a hurry when I posted.) Remains to be seen whether Ashe is looking at an enraged Miho about to do who knows ...

Re: [1531] Don't waste it

As I just read through MT again, finding this remark out here makes me think of the way Largo has adressed and referred to Ping from the beginning. Largo is… well, Largo [...] Yes indeed, very good point. I did actually leave him out of my "analysis" deliberately, because how the heck do you "analy...

Re: [1531] Don't waste it

So no PS2 games to train her, instead everything that happened with the adventures of her first two in-world role models and everyone revolving around them. Indeed, the oddity of her "training" has been inconsistent to the point of self-contradictory, and almost certainly far outside any use regime...

Re: [1531] Don't waste it

Junko is now the person who is "playiing" with her, and her comment about not being able to say no may have triggered a basic routine in Ping's coding. Are you referring to Junko's last few comments in 1175 ? I feel like I should know this one but my searches for places where Junko talks about not ...

Re: [1531] Don't waste it

Rather than talking about disconnects, I'd say Ping is jumping the gun. Except she's not just complaining about how slowly he's moving; she's explicitly said that she knows he doesn't want to have sex with her, and she is trying to figure out how to change that state (whether to just save Junko or ...

Re: [1531] Don't waste it

Not of those who posted before me in this thread, no. (I'm specifically referring to Ping's internal disconnect, trying to divert something which isn't happening) In my defense I had just wondered about that in 1530 and didn't (yet, at the beginning of this one) think it worth repeating... but I ha...

Re: What are you Watching/Reading Q3 2018

ReLIFE is Korean? That's a new one...... ;) Yah I think I was misremembering on that one. EDIT: Ah, there was one that I am sure was Korean (based on characters' names) that I had seen a week or so ago, a couple are fighting to the point of divorce and then "wake up" in their bodies of ten years ag...

Re: What are you Watching/Reading Q3 2018

mmm dunno how this is gonna be received here since it's not strictly-speaking manga ;) 'cuz it's Korean. For what it's worth some of my favorite ones have been Korean... I thought "Friendly Winter" was gorgeous (both drawings and story). "Can't See Can't Hear But Love" was in some ways a more clich...

Re: [1531] Don't waste it

Is nobody else noticing the big disconnect? Ping is trying to save Junko from having to have sex with a guy who doesn't want to . That's what I was saying in the 1530 thread. It seems a good bet at this point that Junko, Ping, Old Guy, and now Megumi have completely different models in their heads ...
