Re: Sounds like things STILL haven't been great....

Being somewhat relevant to this topic, I wanted to post my thoughts on a particular issue. It was just something I was thinking about (and is related to a comment made earlier in this thread) so I wanted to write my thoughts on the issue. In regard to the support (financial and otherwise) Fred is g...

Re: One WIP Twitch thread to rule them all [SPOILERS]

When this part time job started the patreon should have been updated to say in spite of 2000 dollar income level saying I will give in return 4 pages of a comic per month, this will most likely not happen due to my other job.

Re: One WIP Twitch thread to rule them all [SPOILERS]

Ubu is right. And I am an old fan too. Since 2010. I admired what Fred did, and enjoyed his works. But The trend I have seen over time unfold has been giving less and less but asking for more and more. I have also seen him toss around emo stories about how bad his art is on the one hand, while valui...

This suggestion has been made to him a good number of times, and he's firm and consistent with his feeling that he's been out of it for too long and it's not a realistic option. Certainly CAD systems have changed dramatically since then, if nothing else. He knows the business and his capabilities, ...

Re: Sounds like things STILL haven't been great....

Why would anyone admit that they could go back to a regular 40-44 hour work week at a mundane full time job, when they can draw 2-4 pages of a comic a month and have total freedom from accountability? In a real job you can't keep living off excuses and personal reasons.

Re: Comments concerning VN

As an old friend of Fred who knows the very early days of MT, I don't think he tried to deceive backers regarding this project. However, I don't understand why: 1. he does not disclose his project finance. 2. he does not post updates at Kickstarter, although it seems like he does have time to updat...

Re: Comments concerning VN

by the way, if anyone is keeping track, patreons are being sold the idea that 2000 bucks a month will make a min of 4 pages per month. its approaching the end of May and so far only 2 pages, with patreon goal met. This is all reading very similar to give me this amount of money for visual novel or s...

Re: Comments concerning VN

Volumes of manga for sale around the world, a store selling merchandise and art for hundreds of dollars a piece, convention sales, and a successful kickstarter of up to 300k, not to mention a 2k a month patreon, all to make barely 4 pages of a comic a month that should have ended years ago?! Give me...

Comments concerning VN

All the kickstarter page comments should be collected here, since by the looks of it nobody checks them. At least here they stand a chance of being seen and addressed. Nicole Trajano about 15 hours ago "You guys have lost my trust and loyalty. I was a High School Graduate when i funded this, begged ...

Re: Anybody else up for getting the FTC involved in this?

comments on kickstarter up to 862 now from people wanting answers but mostly their money back or reward for pledge. Her is just the latest comment: "Florian Esser about 8 hours ago Nothing is gonna happen. On January 5th I was told by Fred that he would be happy to refund my pledge, after I send him...

Re: Book order

Tell him to close the store if he can't fill orders and is back logged for years. How is it not morally objectionable to be accepting money for new orders that you have no idea when or if you can fill them. I know this isn't you, but as a friend to Fred, someone has got to speak the hard truths to h...

Re: Visual Novel [renamed]

What part of "when /he/ is pushing on with other projects" and "/project creators/" in that quotation made you think I was referring to employees as opposed to Fred himself? And, in most investment scenarios comparable to this one, it's hard to imagine the start-up team being comprised of salaried ...

Re: MIHO BLANKET

He should really stop accepting peoples money for things he has no idea when or if he can provide. He should also change his patreon goal of 2000 dollars = 4 comic pages per month, cause hes 12 bucks away from that and he barely manages 2-3 per month as is. These things when added to the VN debacle ...

Re: Visual Novel [renamed]

Came here looking for an update to this but I can see what's happening. A bunch of people who don't seem to understand the risk when backing something on kickstarter or didn't bother actually reading it. I'm a backer too but I kind of figured it was a lost cause because it blew up to be a huge proj...

Re: Visual Novel [renamed]

[/quote] Paying into the VN was like playing the lottery; there's no guarantee of a return. [/quote] No, a kickstarter is not equivalent to playing the lottery. Just because something does not carry with it a guarantee, doesn't mean its the same thing. A lottery is based on the idea you will most li...

Re: Visual Novel [renamed]

I'm sorry if this wasn't clear. Fred's plan (as he described in his May post) is: 1) Get the comic rolling [with his target of 4 comics per month] 2) Get the store shipping backlog taken care of 3) Get back on the VN With all the problems he's been having the last few months, he hasn't managed the ...

Fred does not "send" me anywhere. I answer questions here on my own hat. I'd like to think I'm helping.
You're a really good and kind person Paarfi, but I think all the time you have put into answering questions and comments about the VN have (unintentionally) helped him avoid his responsibility.

Re: Visual Novel [renamed]

This is not to pick on walkingeagle in particular, nor is this a new problem. The same kind of thing happened when comic production slowed years ago after Jack was born and Sarah started her long and difficult fight with cancer. It's not that people didn't care that his wife was fighting for her li...

Re: Visual Novel [renamed]

As a long time fan I am concerned and troubled over what has happened with so much money. I did not back the project cause I was out of work at the time but I was fully ready to pay for a finished game. In fact, I came back here figuring it would have been out by now and I was excited to see what it...
