Re: [1594] a side of you I haven't seen before

Kimiko is a toxic warbitch from hell, there's no call to be insulting 'zilla's and kitsune's by trying to lump her sort of monster in with them. Some people play baseball with baseballs. Some people play it with fruit. And then there are some people play it with grenades. (^_~) Can't let you have a...

Re: What are you watching/reading Q1 2021?

It appears that the Tonikawa manga has shifted gears, and is approaching it's climax. All the weird little clues in Tsukasa's backstory are now coming together. Not objecting to Tonikawa, just commenting on it: 140 chapters of bland vanilla sweetness, often apparently about whatever the author saw ...

Re: [1590] beautiful

Somehow your wording reminded me of a local invasive species, the "Himalayan" blackberry. Some genius found a particularly vigorous Armenian cultivar, and sold it all around the Pacific Northwest under the more-exotic-sounding name a century and change ago. Yes, they're sweet and juicy - and classif...

Re: So, will it be ever delivered?

I have no way of knowing, but I doubt that many of the failed VN projects of that era were people acting in bad faith. More likely, it was just people underestimating how hard it is to pull these projects off. We’re all wiser now, I hope. When I googled random takes on it, I liked this explanation ...

Re: [1585] rest and recovery

It is entirely wishful thinking to believe that Largo and Erika have done the deed and it cheapens the development of that story arc for the initial awkward to have just been a blip. In this scene Erika believes that Largo is finally ready but as usual he's rather clueless I don't have any cause to...

HOW....CAN....THAT....IDIOT....BE....SO....CLUELESS?! My GOD, he's already had sex with her and been with her for most of the last while. How can he NOT have picked up on ANY of her behavior patterns? Largo SERIOUSLY has to be channeling every single spirit of STUPIDITY that might be roaming around...

Re: [1583] the heartbreak of other people's luck

why does Teddy think that Miho is the fount of all evil? It's been Teddy's schtick, err firmly held opinion for as long as I've been on the forum. He's the one constant here. Don't ever change, Teddy. Don't encourage him/her/it Not sure of this is some sort of corollary to Napoleon's advice...

Re: [1583] the heartbreak of other people's luck

(snip) In the past I have made it clear that I sit in Invisigoth's camp in that I believe that Great Granny is responsible for Megumi's misfortunes, either directly or indirectly. I now must say, as we watch the situation begin to unfold, that I really hope that Invisigoth and I are wrong. I really...

Well it looks like that Piro is finally getting laid, and Erika is keeping Largo on a short leash. The Kitsune are taking over, and Miho is no longer dieing. Some pretty interesting changes since the beginning. Now to look forward to the next 20 years. I was uh. I was making a joke. You know, on th...

Re: [1584] Naze Nani Megatokyo: 20 Years Later...

I find myself vaguely curious whether any of Largo's rant is based on an actual event, but I'm guessing it's comic license. More curious about whether iffy also drifted away... I don't see many walls of text, so it seems not unlikely. Even more curious: Hey Teddy, do you still think you hate Miho or...

It could be much worse... it could lead to the story of one of Junko's clients taking liberties. Now with the current situation, I see Yaku being used as bait to bring her Grandmother out of hiding. I don't think that she is in any real danger.
Ditto. Any bets on whether Kitsune-GM drops a comment on not caring about Yaku per se, but caring about her tails?

Re: [1529] The needs of my story

Actually, I don't think you have to extrapolate very far to understand Nabiki acting this way. We know Mugi considers "old eight-tails" to be something just short of outright evil, and moved away to shield Yaku from their dealings. IIRC Fred has alluded to them being capable of Very Bad Things in th...

Re: [1528] An old story that needs to be finished

If you abduct a kitsune child, is it kit-napping (twice over, even)? What if knock her unconscious too? Would that be triple? No, triple would require some of this here: [476] . …although I wonder if that would also mess with some of the vowels in "kit-napping". Triple would result in "kat-nipping"...

Re: [1528] An old story that needs to be finished

Consider that the last time that Miho died the only people to even recall her was Piro, Ping and Junko. I suspect that Ninjagrrl has no interest in killing Miho and resetting her story because if she does then the forgetfulness will erase the contract and the Ninja won't be paid It's 5:30am and I'm...

I'm torn between thinking of this guy as Osaru Ossan and Professor Stranger Danger... I think the latter wins, though. Yes, this guy knows what Ping is, and yes, is probably with Sony and maybe even her lead developer. I am of mixed feelings about this. His demeanor suggests an almost fatherly approach, so he might simply be interested in knowing how she's been adapting to life "in the wild". On the other hand, he'...
