Re: [1527] Nature of the relationship

Does anyone else think that Yakugashi is giving up way too much information to Nabiki?

Miho, this is foolish and selfish, and will not go well....unless you get there and trip over Ping, and you both spend the next comic or two yelling at each other while P+K watch. That would be amusing.

Those, and our perceptions (opinions, determinations, conclusions) of them. Which perceptions may or may not be impacted by at least to some extent knowing it is filtered in what gets presented, and which background for may or may not have be determined already by the time it happens. == What she d...

Re: [1526] That kind of love

No, I prefer FMP because it's not as dark as UnMod. Actually, the comparison I drew while watching BR2049 was comparing the next-gen replicants to Ping. Consider her current search for her missing level B and C libraries, and 'K's frantic search for memories... Yeesh. Of course I've read Gibson. Pl...

Re: [1526] That kind of love

It's really quite simple Some readers HATE Miho Not all are as obnoxiously pig-headed about it as TWB, quite a few seem to be that way as a result of an apparent sincere desire that Largo be the only character in MT who never lies and also does the right thing It's Animal Farm expressed as Miho BAA...

Re: [1526] That kind of love

... Regardless of outer appearances, which we also have seen and been told we can't exactly trust. That. That, right there. We're trying to extrapolate why she's doing things here (and I can't believe that Teddy hasn't weighed in here yet) but all we have to go on are her reactions, the reactions o...

Re: [1526] That kind of love

1. Yutaka was mighty bruised there though, unless the internal injuries he had were not just ribs. well... plenty of soft organs there. Never mind. You're right (I never had any bones broken there [or in fact anywhere] so i take your word for it :) ) 2. Or, he's a ghost :D. 3. thanks :) well for on...

Re: [1526] That kind of love

I don't think that men get any active abilities if they have the MG genes, but some passive abilities would be useful - enhanced sense and danger sense both seem likely here. Regeneration would clearly be really useful, not combat regen, but simply enhanced healing and the ability to heal beyond wh...

Re: [1526] That kind of love

So many things it could be, with no apparent way to tell. It's not just the lack of information or the conflicting or vague things that are suspected, it's what she's supposed to be, and the framework it's all in. And just maybe the framework itself has shifted while the story has been going on. Wh...

Re: [1526] That kind of love

...I suspect she would object to the 'something' portion of the description, but I think that was hilarious. What Miho did with the Killballs, it's starting to feel like it was a forced move by the metaplot to reset her consciousness back to defaults, as she was starting to show signs of personality...

Re: [1526] That kind of love

It was guessed at, Masamichi said things, Miho didn't disagree. We have a number of times Miho has stepped in to stop (help, move) things (Yuki almost being caught for stealing, Ping being harassed, Ed about to maybe shoot Ping or hit Yuki with robot-shrapnel, Kimiko and Piro having issues after An...

Re: [1526] That kind of love

Just looked back at the post history. Has nobody else really had anything to say for the last week? I went on vacation/holidays ;) somewhat AFK for a few days. And also it looks like Fred concentrated on PTCO drawing recently (see the WIP thread, when the next comic officially started, having been ...

Re: [1526] That kind of love

1. Miho stepped in to absorb the power as that's how she's supposed to feed, or at least that's the scenario we had at the time. Erika, from what we saw, couldn't handle the fame - possibly because she was being manipulated or lied to (we know about the lying, which was coming from her ex) - and the...

Re: [1526] That kind of love

1. That sequence (1495-1500) exactly. Especially 1497, where the mob rejects Yuki as an MG because she doesn't look the part, and 1498/1499, where it's clear that talking about her past as a MG, and how she didn't fit the mold, is causing Ririka physical pain. It begs the question, if Yuki had been ...

Re: [1526] That kind of love

We should probably both post your comment at the start of most of our posts: "WARNING! This is Way Longer Than It Should Have Been!" 1. It makes me wonder how you select things like race in MT. Is it something you choose, or is it like your hidden stats, where your profile determines it for you. If ...

Re: [1526] That kind of love

We could start a huge tangent about how much effort and time you have to invest into something in Megatokyo to give it some degree of sentience, if the rules allow for it, and to what degree. If the Kitsune here have the powers that they do in the old legends, I would imagine that they could do it m...

Re: [1526] That kind of love

It looked like the origami was just getting scattered as she moved, Junpei more talking thinking answering than doing any ninja-fast moves, and the shirt moving around as position shifted initially fairly quickly. Although maybe some of that is because panel 2 is kinda ill defined or at least doesn...

Re: [1526] That kind of love

Random observations... P1: Today's vocabulary word is 'discombobulated'. The little origami foxes appear to be attentively waiting for her response. That, or they're checking to make sure she's still breathing, considering how red she's turned. P2: Foxies fall down and go boom! (BTW, I pulled a musc...

Re: [1525] "This important too"

More fox folding... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GEy87p7SfgY Wonderful link. 19 minutes for a single fox; Junpei has been there for quite some time. The way of the Ninja is one of patience, classic supercars, and hair gel. All the hair gel. Slightly more seriously, it's a good way to keep yourse...

Re: [1525] "This important too"

This was an unwanted shift. I wanted more resolution with Pinko vs Stranger Danger, but what evs! I think Fred planned this, perceiving that a lot of the fans would need a break from the perceived scuminess of Ping's date. It's something he's done before. Just think of this as a chance for us to sp...

Re: [1525] "This important too"

It's nice. In some ways, Yaku asking Junpei to wait in Mugi's room was a stamp of approval. I think Mugi will realize that once she gets over the embarrassment and accepts that Junpei is attracted to her. I like the fox origami. It's a very sweetly touching scene, pretty old-fashioned. Which makes ...

This is probably the time where Mugi needs to be quiet. ;-) 1) You are almost certainly right. 2) ahahahabwah-hah-hah-hah-HAHHAHAH *ack* *sputter* *cough*...sorry, the idea of Mugi actually keeping quiet was too much. 3) Being drugged unconscious doesn't count. 4) She still looks cute while semicon...

Re: [1525] "This important too"

you don't like where Ping is going, she's gonna accidentally plug her data port into closed off Internet cctv network and see... everything. But it's OK, maybe she gets more protective of the 'thing that is supposed to be hers'. I don't particularly like where Miho wants to go... even if she wants ...

Nonono... i did get what he was joking about. I Just Thought, it wasn't funny, just perfy. Anyhoo, moving on. Oh, I knew you got the joke. But you have to have the right kind of personality to appreciate that kind of joke. You have to be able to find humor in any situation, no matter how screwed. Y...
