Re: [1558] Getting through

Again, that's Miho giving him explicit directions. Not sure how magical that one is, given "Nobody ever sees it, because nobody looks." If anything, it looks like an emergency exit that would only open out. If he could step between on his own, he'd have avoided the cops.

Re: [1558] Getting through

I've been going through old strips, and cam across https://megatokyo.com/strip/278 (snip) Piro might be in a lot of trouble if he was in Largo's place. Dunno, Piro's kind of blind about some things. Didn't see any of the paths until Miho dragged him into one (or gave explicit directions a'la "Shior...

Re: [1558] Getting through

So the question really is, does she WANT to wake up...? There is little doubt now, that she COULD if she WANTED to... I think it's pretty clear from [1541] that she would like to wake up but cannot. Yeah, There's still something I don't get... MIHO made her the magical girl? What kind of system is ...

Re: [1558] Getting through

Oh, and something else that strikes me as odd. Largo says, "I am filtering my perceptions." That's a strong hint that, at some level, he's aware of SEP or SER fields... and has deliberately invoked his for self-protection. Now that's the mind-blower. Fred packed an incredible amount into this strip...

Re: [1558] Getting through

Why do I find amusement in watching people fret over their perceptions of a character when the nature of that character is revealed in a way that doesn't match their perception? Saw the same responses with Lady Sylvanas's character in the current expansion of WoW, and just like with Erika here, the...

Re: [1558] Getting through

No. I got hung up over the fact that if she's able to move and talk in the physical world then she's by definition at least temporarily not in a coma. Which she stated she was. If she can actually interact with the world while physically shut down, that's pretty cool. But if she's aware and physica...

Re: [1557] I wish I could hear you talk

I grew up in the intelligence community, and my RPG history is old enough to vote, so my paranoia is pretty well honed. RPG me has had the vote so long that it has been in the adult voting demographic category thru two Presidencies. :ugeek: Only two? Try "Since President Carter." :ugeek: :ugeek: Yo...

The wand will turn into a hammer and will play Whack-A-Largo on next comic.
Or Largo will use the phone to >PWN< her life support.

For all the bitching I did, at least Fred knocked it out of the park. I don't know what the hell's going on at this point. Or is that a bad thing?

Re: One WIP Twitch thread to rule them all [SPOILERS]

At 58, I'm not the "Newer Generation". I'm the older generation, where you keep your word, and if you say you're going to produce a mousetrap, you dammed well produce a mousetrap, better or not. And as for Outsider, I didn't use the word "lately" but it's strongly implied. The very sparsity of Outsi...

Re: One WIP Twitch thread to rule them all [SPOILERS]

Sigh. You know something's wrong with the universe when Outsider gets more regular than Megatokyo. This is why I don't buy any more MT merch. And thank God I didn't put money into the vaporware.

Almost as dumb as boy emotions.
What is dumb about happy, angry and indifferent? :|
You forgot "hungry."

If you think that's not an emotion, the friends I still have might disagree with you. :ninja:

Re: [1549] The sum of our parts

Got to admit, whomever you "support" or don't, this is a point that gives much grist for the thinking mill. You get right down to it, all sides are treating the other as a resource for commercial gain. Even the waitress! Dr. Creepy commercializes women's personalities in the name of profit, Junko co...

His approach is extremely clinical and almost sterile and I think that Ashe snapping her phone in half was about the most restrained response that she could have given him
I was kind of wondering if she was going to snap him in half. "Oops" indeed.

Re: [1532] The battlefield before me

I can't help but wonder if the whole "hostage scenario" is really a head-fake by granny ninjagirl to help break Miho out of her "avatar" status by making her a player (protagonist) instead of the game being played. i.e. by taking an active role again, she writes her own story. Granted, I have no pos...

Re: [1528] An old story that needs to be finished

One might imagine the real thing is no role. Whatever anyone thinks about Miho appears to be all about their opinions and perceptions, but she's clearly been often able to match those expectations, be that purpose or accident, towards a goal or otherwise. So it's probably not so odd to believe that...

Forgive me if I've missed a discussion of this already, but... on third reading (!) this started bothering me. Which way do Yakugashi's ears face? Fred may be going off-model a bit. In the latest strip: [*]Panels 1-2: appear to face forward, somewhat droopy. [*]Panels 3-6: Definitely face backwards,...

No, Kobyashi has it under control. When dealing with a frantic, panicky Yuki, derail her thought processes.
