Re: [1594] a side of you I haven't seen before

Erika is trying to cajole Piro into writing for a character based on Miho, but /not/ exactly her... This will be an interesting when he realises what they both are talking about. Since Miho is 100% off-script for her own story now, won't Moeko's plot line essentially become Miho's reality? If so, t...

Re: [1594] a side of you I haven't seen before

While that is why Piro and Kimiko are there, it really isn't why Megumi is there or in that state. Eric is very off track if she was thinking that's what was going on between Piro and Megumi. Oh. OH. Oh sh-- Yeah, I didn't get that context at all. Erica finds Piro out in the hall with rando foxgirl...

Re: [1594] a side of you I haven't seen before

However, my first impression of the writing assignment is that she's talking about Kimiko; i.e.: she's misreading the mood and telling him "good job getting Kimiko to loosen up*, now do it some more!" Er - that doesn't make much sense, given her comment in p4. Erika knows why she's there, and she b...

Re: [1593] I win

Look at the last panel in particular. Look at her eyes and the flood of tears rolling down her face. That does not look like a woman who has it together. That looks like a woman who's about to lose it. People "lose it" in all sorts of different ways. From personal experience - every woman I've ever...

Re: [1593] I win

Tambo, I would say that those last three panels show a woman who is RAPIDLY transitioning from happiness for her friend to outright despair over her own situation. She looks to be literally only moments away from a full breakdown. Really? She seems a lot more coherent in this whole page than she wa...

Re: [1593] I win

He is over the relationship with Tohoya; she just has to resolve her issues. Okay, looking back - 1437 is their last interaction, before Miho is whisked away by Junpei. Piro's story goes: 1455 : Kimiko hatches a plan to pretend to be Miho. 1459 : Piro plays out this scene with Kimiko, which rather ...

Re: [1593] I win

Bottom-left panel: lolsob at "winning" the competition. Bottom-right panel: authentic satisfaction about her friend's happiness. The fact that she can set aside her trauma over her stunning realization just a few moments ago, and take such joy in her friend's fulfillment, is genuinely touching. Also...

Re: [1588] things left behind

Last year, Sarah got laid off when covid hit, and they got by for a little while on unemployment, but then Fred had to go get a better bus-driving job to be able to pay the bills, which meant fewer hours to comic. His dad's Parkinson's getting worse also had Fred spending a lot of time taking him t...

Re: [1588] things left behind

Considering the fact that this is basically free entertainment (although I have been busy trying to track down and buy all the hard copies I can find), I think our illustrious creator can and SHOULD be given as much slack as he needs. In general, I agree with you, but there is a finer point to be m...

Re: [1588] things left behind

If it turns out Piro/Kimiko spent the night more ... significantly, I think I would actually be disappointed. They have known each other for about a month (or did I miscount time?). Feels way too fast a progression for a relationship. Who said anything about a relationship? Casual sex commonly occu...

Re: [1588] things left behind

Really glad that they're moving on to an adult relationship. Protracted sexual tension tends to jump the shark for me.

Re: [TTDP 013]: hearing the world normally

If he has any sense her monitor heard that line about "not caring about civilized behavior" and is calling Masamichi right now . I'm picturing a scene like Jack-Jack's babysitter from The Incredibles . Masamichi is sitting in his office after finishing a discussion with another client, and picks up...

Re: [TTDP 012] The many ways to nudge you

Am I the only one who is at least as interested in the continuing story of Chokky as the next chapter in MegaTokyo? And maybe more so?

I'm really enjoying the fresh subject matter and the characters here. Very different from the main story line. It's great and I want more.

Re: [1581] can't make it any worse

what ringtone did Fred have in mind when he drew this comic?
"Chitter-churp" kinda reminds me of the dorky chiptune ringtones from early-2000s flip phones, like this one: https://www.zedge.net/ringtone/34b27486 ... 92d1b362aa.

Re: [1575] busted

Were I in a stripper joint, I might consider this normal. However, this doesn't even look remotely like a stripper joint. In this environment, being subtle about your intentions without announcing it to the entire crowd would have been better. Really? I mean, it's a bar. The central purpose of a ba...

Re: [1571] fresh air

Ashe is a very violent foxgirl. I wouldn't call her very violent; I'd call her very physical. Note that in #1551, Junko was angry and trying to hurt Ashe, and Ashe responded physically but apparently didn't hurt her, which requires a nontrivial amount of care. Seems like the opposite of violent ten...

Re: [1571] fresh air

Megumi does know they make 'toys' for this sort of problem right? Well, she didn't say, "those two need to get laid," in a general sense. She's talking about a shared hookup with Junko's client, which, in addition to the oxytocin benefits, resolves the social tension. (Or it might further complicat...
