If you look closely at the strips, you'll notice it's only been one day (two at most) since Tsubasa left.

He's probably still on the plane to America at this point in time.

Or talking to the Immigration Officer in some back room somewhere.

"what is the purpose of your visit?"
"I am here to search for my long lost true love"

"How long will you be staying?"
"however long it takes"

"Do you have a visa?"
"No, I just jumped on the plane and here I am."

"Do you have enough cash to support you indefinitely?"
"No, all my posessions when sold were just enough to buy a one way ticket. I'm planning to 'live on love' for now..."

"OK, no visa, no real reason for being here.

Hmm....

If you want admittance you will have to take on and beat our special agent 'Bubba' in WWF Smackdown Head To Head on the Mattel Intellivision (budget cuts mean we still have an 8 bit console, sorry about that)"

Or something like that.

But Tsubasa left in Chapter 0. It's been at least a week between the end of Chapter 0 and start of Chapter1, I think. But I would too like to know what happened to the guy.

Time necessary to go from Shinjuku to the US.

Walk/ride tai/ride train/etc... to Shinjuku Station 5 minutes.
Train ride to Narita Airport 2 hours
Check in+wait for plane 1~3 hours
Plane ride 11 hours to Chicago, add or subtract time depending on destination.
Baggage check, customs approx 1 hour

shouldn't take a full day for Tsubasa to get to the US...

Even if he did make it to America, it's not like he's found her already. He's at the airport or something.

He's sitting on a bench somewhere, fiddling with his backpack. He has neither a sidekick nor a Cool Thing ™.

Assuming of course there are no lay-overs or delays.

He could have found her already.

Wouldn't it be cool if his long lost love was the 'Speak l33t' Air Hostess?

He wouldn't be sitting on the bench with a squirel, would he?

Na. He would be sitting on a park bench telling people about the shrimping business and how life is like a box of chocolates.

It's full of nuts and you never get what you want.

Yeah, it's only been about a day since Tsubasa left, but as far as the entire comic goes, there was the day or so at E3, then the day they arrived in Japan, then the day they met Tsubasa, then six weeks at Tsubasa's house.

I wish I could remember what the Smoking Man from the X-Files said about life being like a box of chocolates...it was quite long, and very embittered

quote:
Life...is like a box of chocolates. A cheap, thoughtless, perfunctoral gift that no one ever asks for. Unreturnable because all you get back is another box of chocolates. So, you're stuck with mostly undefinable whipped mint crap, mindlessly wolfed down when there's nothing else to eat while you're watching the game. Sure, once in a while you get a peanut butter cup or an English toffee but it's gone too fast and the taste is fleeting. In the end, you're left with nothing but broken bits filled with hardened jelly and teeth shattering nuts, which if you are desperate enough to eat leaves nothing but an empty box of useless brown paper wrappers.

But I think we're drifting off-topic here.

(Incidentally, it was my birthday not too long ago and I have an unopened box of chocolates sitting on my floor where I tossed it on that day and will likely stay there until I become very hungry and am too lazy to go to the kitchen or the ants get to it. I hate those things.)

Considering he is on a plane, that is, perhaps, unfortunate phrasing... happy.gif;;

Well, if he doesn't find a place to crash, I know of a perfect place. It's been uninhabited by the owner for at least a month now, looks much like his old apartment, and will help him usher in sweet black revenge.

You don't think Piro left his place unlocked, do you?
