New Tuesdays, What, Sakura's over already?

We've got just the second Cardcaptor Sakura movie left for next Tuesday. What seriees should we watch next?

In keeping with a shojou theme, perhaps Princess Tutu?

Not in keeping with any theme, but seeing how it's being re-released, maybe Mahou tsukai taisetsu na mono?

Kamichu (a different kind of magical girl)?

Tweeny Witches/Mahou Shoujotai Arusu (maybe we can bring back Workpanda's old Arusu avatar)?

Though I think what I'd really like an excuse to rewatch is Simoun.

I've been thinking recently that weirdly Lain seems to more true today. It's about an awkward kid getting mixed up with hacktivists, right? I've been intending to rewatch it soon and possibly writing a breakdown of what I like about some of the scenes.

Oooh. Lain. Why didn't I think of that? I like that idea.

I still support this idea, although I'm always in favor of people watching Princess Tutu.

I could probably stand for Princess Tutu. I'd be perfectly happy with Kamichu as well. Tweeny Witches I never finished. I stopped at a point where things looked like they were going bad, and I never was able to work up the will to go back in and see what happened. Honestly not feeling up for Lain. And I'll pass on Simoun as well.

I would also like to nominate:

Slayers, or at least the first three seasons thereof.

Tsukuyomi: Moon Phase, although everyone would have to make sure they were watching a DVD version, due to the usual SHAFT issues with QUALITY during the original airing.

Crest of the Stars/Banner of the Stars. It's always a good time for some decent science fiction.

And Aria. We could just do The Animation, or we could do all of it, whatever suits. I'd love to spend some more time in New Venice with the girls.

I have a suggestion I don't make lightly. Evangelion. Like, the 26 episode series. I remember watching it once back in like... 2000? 2001? and I don't think I have watched it since.
I disparage the shit out of the fans of evangelion because they're all fucking retards, but I can't really deny the impact it's had on anime in general.

If we're looking for a classic to rewatch, I think this would be a suitable nomination.

I'll second Slayers & Banner of the Stars. (Though, I prefer Slayers is the one I prefer.)

I've always wanted to watch slayers. It's also pretty easy to watch, as most if not all of it is on hulu.

I'm still on like episode 22 of CCS I probably shouldn't be getting involved in some new Tuesday anime though.

Lol. Well it's been about two years since I've watched Lain, but I'm not sure if I'm feeling a rewatch right now. Maybe. I could contribute to any discussion about it without watching the episodes again at all though.

Well, you're 50 episodes behind on CCS, so at this point you should either clear your calendar and set down a solid block of 24 hours where you watch until your eyes bleed, or just give up.

I'm counting two votes for Lain, three for Simoun, three for Slayers, and two for Banner of the Stars. There is, of course, some overlap among those. I'm not counting Jose as supporting anything just yet, since it sounds like he wouldn't be watching whatever it is regardless.

Right now Slayers and Simoun seem to be the top suggestions.

Going for Slayers myself, as it's been the only one of the series here I haven't seen. Though I'm not sure how often I'll have time to do Tuesday nights.

I'll always say Banner, but it'd have to be all the seasons. Every time I've watched it, I did Crest, Banner I, II and III all in a row. Kinda of a waste otherwise.

I'm willing to switch my vote to banner/ crest. Saber as a tsundere blue-haired space elf would be pretty cool, I think.

It's been forever since I've seen Eva as well. I've seen the new films, but I think going back and seeing the original anime would be interesting. Aside from that, I just got the Utena boxes from Nozomi and would join in on a group watch of that.

I voted for Simoun, but I'd be happy with any of the titles (except Slayers --- I saw as much of the series as I wanted to a long time ago. The anime club president when I first started going to my local anime club was a rabid Slayers fan, and I think I've seen all the series (except Slayers Revolution) and OAVs.

If others go for Slayers I'll probably sit this one out.

I wouldn't mind an excuse to actually watch the Evangelion "platinum collection" disks I bought when they started being discounted.

Eureka Seven would work for me --- I've never seen beyond episode 12 or so, and could use an excuse to see more.

On seeing Slayers taking the lead, voted Simoun to fight the power

No desire at all to watch slayers again.
