I actually have pretty direct inspiration for this track: Periphery's "Letter Experiment"

It's as much about the production as it is the music itself. At the moment, I'm contemplating redoing the drums completely. At first it was all about getting the guitar tone down. I know that I'm not going to, because Periphery's tool of choice in this department is an Axe FX Ultra. Expensive, and exceedingly good at it's job of digital guitar fx processing.

But then I got a pretty good tone. It's not exact, but it's workable and somewhat identifiable. I also couldn't tune that low (drop A flat, G sharp), so I stuck with my usual lowest of drop A#.

Thought I'd let you guys know about this track, as you can see, version 3 already ;p
