As promised (two weeks ago >.<) the first page of the restart of my fan comics!

It's been a lot of work, I had forgotten how much time it takes! I've got to get around that to do my own comic. I know I'll get faster as I keep practicing, but I still have a long way if I want to take .5 a week to 3 a week.

I know I could go faster if I went black and white but...I LIKE color. >.<

I'm hoping I can manage without doing that, but if that's the only way then... T.T

Anyway, I put it up on the website too, so you can check it out there and also catch up on the story so far.

One thing that helped me get this done faster (I think) was not letting myself see megatokyo's new page until I finished! So I'm going to go look at that now~!

Well, I get where you're coming from, but it's an old idea from a while back when I presumed for some reason (either as a joke or based on an avatar, I forget) that he was bishie...and we've kind of continued the joke since (or at least I have XP). The boards need a bishie or the fangirls will get sad...and you don't want that...really...

If it helps any, I have hair down to the small of my back, mind you, I'd probably need to shave to qualify.
Allthough, considering I go in to work tomorrow, I probably need to shave anyways...

One solution to your "moving things along" urge might be to compress the storyline into fewer pictures, leave more unseen, that kind of thing. Of course that requires ninja script-writing skillz and a ruthless attitude towards your art (in a "must tell the story: does this image tell the story? No, *scribble out*" way).

I know you have those skillz but it's a question of setting a balance. Three updates a week will help, of course. I look forward to seeing them and wish you luck, patience and sufficient time...

To be honest, when I first read that the thought in my head was "most people don't like to talk about back hair..." it took Saxon's comments for me to realize you were talking length of your scalp-based hair.

Mhm. Generally, when I think of hair, I think of the scalp first.
(As for the shaving, that'd be to take care of 5 'oclock shadow.)

Normally I think of scalp hair first as well. But you mentioned the small of your back, which made me think body hair. It was the phrasing mostly. If you'd said your hair was long enough to reach the small of your back then it would have explained things better.

Maybe, but it was late and I wasn't paying attention, and so it happens.

I'm having hard time seeing Arwael as bishie with long silky hair and come hither eyes...I've always seen him as more like an annoying little cousin or something...

I'm already being as minimalist with the panels as I know how to...I honestly feel mean to it...but each panel takes so much time I've got to be. I had a couple pages planned ahead from before, but I decided I was being too slow and cut them down even more.

That's one thing that makes me think about B&W even more...if I knew I would have more time then I could maybe spare some panels for more random fun. But really, I know all it would do is get me closer to the production rate I need...I would still have to be just as brutally devoted to the plot. Fun is what sketches are for...

Actually, I've been thinking. So far I've been planning on doing a strip for my own comic, mostly a gag comic around my life/friends/family/hobbies. I've already got a bunch of ideas for strips...but I think I'm hitting the same thing. How do I get this idea, or that idea, across in just 1-4 panels?

I have to be just as focused as with a story comic, but this time to the gag, joke, or punchline. It's a frustration I had hoped to avoid with a gag comic, but the truth is I'm going to encounter that with any comic. A comic that has no focus would literally be pointless...but at least with a gag comic I can rapidly switch focus, which I think will be a little easier on me. ^.^;

Well then. I don't seem to have a witty response for this, so I'll settle for "Huh."
