[1237] - It's Not Right!, (part 1 of a 2 part episode...)

I was having trouble getting it all to work as a single comic, so i split it into two, trying to get both done to post, but since i have this one done, i'll post it. Oddly enough, with a slight dialogue tweak that works just fine, it does stand ok on its own.

next comic will finish this little thing off.

and this almost counts as 2 comics this week. Geeze, please, get me back into that ....

Love it. These two are classic.

It think Yuki will bring a whole new meaning to "Look before you leap", as she dashes off on her immediate impulses at super speed.

And she still doesn't know whatever Kenji was trying to explain...

What is she reading? Why can't we see it?!? -bawls-

I mean it could be anything right? Sure we speculate it's the Moh/Piro convos, but who knows if she is still reading that? But if they are reading that, then what is it saying that is causing such adorable expressions (especially panel 3)?

So will she try to get Piro back together with Miho? Does she believe what she was told, that she's no longer with them? And poor Kobayashi, does he feel used? abandoned? placed on second string?

On the plus side, it's so rare that a new page is released over the weekend!

Now, will Yuki make it out of the Cave? I predict not...

I wonder what the chat logs could have revealed? Was there more the Piro and Miho's "in game" relationship than has been told?

It works spreading it out, Fred. Surprisingly, the pacing seems much improved. I like it. The first two panels... intense, yet silent... very powerful.

Last panel: Kobayashi officially takes on the role of super-hero sidekick.


So, almost everyone's here; Kimiko and Piro are on their way; Yuki's about to hit the floor. I think we're heading for a six or seven faction, multi-layered confrontation. What will be revealed? Who will be surprised? Who will maintain control? And will Ed finally die?

Can't wait!

I hope it will not be Ping, but as I have said previously, all bets are off. He could destroy most any character in the story at this point. He is a deadly variation in the in the CoE... a potentially deadly place in and of itself. That Kenji backed me up on that... slime though that he is.

Poor Yuki. It's really hard, being an 'emote': you can feel the jarring wrong note even when you don't know jack sh*t about the context.

Now, the DUN DUN DUNN questions: 1)what's she going to do about it? (not race across rooftops to grab Piro, I half-hope), and 2) will or won't Kobayashi-kun read the chat logs, now that she's off to do hero work?

(my Erika avvie has the day off due to Aisaka Taiga winning the Saimoe competition after the Kmoe and MT Anime Grand Prix earlier this year. Nice hat-trick, Palmtop Tiger!)

Next page, first panel: Kobayashi-kun is sitting at the desk looking at his shoes. Second panel: Kobayashi-kun looks sideways at the laptop. Panel three: he's changed seats so he can look at the monitor. Panel four: His face turns beet red and a column of steam shoots from the top of his head (or maybe just the beet red part). Panel five: He's running out the door shouting for Yuki. Panel six: More off-screen shouts, close up of the monitor which gives us just enough detail to have some idea as to the content but not enough to answer any of the questions that we in SD have been beating ourselves silly over for the past, what, year?

Goodness. What was that all about? Yuki is very mood-swingy today. Maybe she's on her period?

Of course, she is running all over the city looking for a dead girl who happens to be the ex of her art teacher/crush, trying to figure out what happened with the help of a boy who likes her.

...why did Fred put poor Kobayashi into the middle of all this, too? Did he just want the possibility of YukiPiro to disappear as quickly as possible, or does the dear kid actually have something to do with any of this?

Now don't make me break out my James B. Utthole Esq. glasses. Yuki has shown ample qualities of matchmaker busybody, and Yutaka Kobayashi is (not so secretly) infatuated with her. Where she leads, he will follow - even on to more broken limbs and general bodily harm. It's a classical anime trope, and Fred loves to roll them out, and then turn them upside-down.

I think I have just figured out what was "NOT RIGHT..." the horride way Piro was treated by Miho. Yuki must be flying off to punish and chastise foul Miho for her filthy and neffariously evil ways. To little avail though... as Kenji clued her into Miho's utter obliteration. The comic is finally making a bit of sense to me now.

Edit: DAMN YOU THE LETTER "k" YA BRIGAND! Sneaking in front of the word "now" like that and making my more perfectly worded and sensible conclusion sound confused and less than the sound logic it is!

Girl's going to get herself killed. She seems to have forgotten that she was told to stay put for her own protection.

More cute, impulsive Yuki-chan. Maybe Kobayashi will peek at the messages while she's gone...

Yuki can handle anything the CoE has to offer IMHO. Kenji, though a badass in his own right, has no clue just how much Miho humored the crew there.

Remember that Yuki had Largo for a mentor for a while there. I doubt self-preservation was ever on the curriculum.

Of course, I doubt he would approve of leaving a man behind. Especially a fellow haxor.


I get the impression that Yuki had completely forgotten about Yutaka until the last panel, and now she's coming back. Either way innocent as they are, he seems to be getting in some nice little jabs. Course, i bet neither of them noticed.

Yesssss. God... That's so gross. YukixPiro does not exist. Piro is like older than me, and Yuki is what? 14? 15?

Bllleeeeeeeeckaaaaa...

Yuki is probably in the 13-15 range. Piro is probably 21-23.

Given another decade or so it wouldn't matter so much.
