Toradora wins over Hayate - and over the past 2 days, 3 Hayate characters have been knocked out of the tournament. Extra huge poster today. ![]() Our first three-way matchup of this round features a Haruhi split vote. I'm going to go with Yuki here to repeat her victory over Haruhi from 2006 - but Eruruu is a unknown factor. If people in Japan are tired of Haruhi - we'll find out here if people vote Eruruu just to kick the last two Haruhi characters out. ![]() This is unfortunately the end of the line for Miyako. She had a good run, but Nodoka should easily Saki-roll Miyako out of the tournament. This post has been edited by AnimeGamer on Sep 26 2009, 09:07 AM |

It would be the greatest win ever to see Miyako advance, but yeah she doesn't really stand a chance against Nodoka. Still, i'm amazed that she made it this far.

In a not-so-surprising fashion, Eruruu wins over both Haruhi characters and effectively kicking out TMoHS characters out of the tournament this year. I honestly don't think Eruruu won this as much as this ended up being a statement that Japan disapproved of the second season of Haruhi. And split vote doesn't help either. And sadly, Miyako got Saki-rolled. ![]() I'd fully expect CAPTAIN to Saki-roll the other two home today. The double Saki vote is going to be huge today, though I'd expect that if there are any Clannad fans left out there, they will be pushing Ushio hard to no avail. Only thing I hate about the poster above is they gave Mihoko a crappy nickname. CAPTAIN/KYAPTEN is fine, thanks. ![]() As powerful as Nagi is (and her numbers are superior too) I don't think she'll be able to overcome in incoming Saki-roll. I fully expect for Saki to squeeze by Nagi and end up facing Nodoka in the H block final. It would be intriguing though of Nagi could beat Saki - because there is then the possibility she could afterward beat Nodoka and kick the two most powerful Saki characters out of the tournament. If both were to be lost, it would be a major shift of power. This post has been edited by AnimeGamer on Sep 27 2009, 09:45 AM |

In a major upset, the title character of Saki has been knocked out of Saimoe.
Nagi has defeated one of the two major Saki characters in the tournament. Can she defeat Nodoka? We'll see... Saimoe takes a one day break before we start the Sweet Sixteen of Saimoe with the Block A final. |

Is it really a major upset, given how popular Hayate no Gotoku characters have been this Saimoe still? I fucking think not. This post has been edited by TheBigN on Sep 28 2009, 11:44 PM |

Nagi, a fan favorite, placed second in 2007, and I get the feeling Saki isn't close to the most popular in her own show.

![]() I actually think Chiaki will pull the upset here. I think there will be some major anti-Saki momentum that's going to start happening - and Minami-ke characters are very well known of knocking out big name characters out of Saimoe. |

Saki has 6 characters who could end up Top 8 still (which would obviously be a Saimoe record). However, some of the matches don't really favor them anymore and there are no double votes to help them from this point forward. You really have to give it that "Any Given Sunday" attitude to each match.
And these matches are not easy for most of them - Today's match is probably the 2nd easiest to win for the Saki faction, quite honestly. Kana vs Isumi does not favor Kana. This is practically the test match to the major Nodoka v Nagi match later on. Momoko has to go against Louise - a perennial threat every year to win and has a bit of that "Suiseisuki" hate-love factor going on. Koromo draws Amu-chi - and Shugo Chara's recent Season 2 ending is going to give Amu a big boost (she had her best cheer-up monologue of the series in the last episode, IMO) while Koromo was not really featured at the end of Saki. Lastly, Nodocchi has to face Nagi who just knocked out Saki two days ago. I'm sure more then anything the Hayate faction would love to shift the balance of power to their favor by knocking out Saki's strongest character in the tournament. The only match where a Saki character is expected to outright win is when KYAPTEN goes off to obliterate poor Eruruu out of the tournament forever after her usefulness of kicking out both Haruhi characters is gone. This oesn't mean that 6 out of 8 characters will come out of one series is impossible - but the odds of that happening are very slim. I would believe at most 4 end up in the top 8. As much as I'd love to see Amu win, I highly doubt that she can beat The Koromo. I'd be extremely surprised and glad if that happened somehow.
Your other predictions are possible or likely, as much as I wish Kana could beat Isumi. This post has been edited by Link on Sep 29 2009, 04:47 PM |

@AnimeGamer: I'll admit, I give Louise no chance whatsoever against Momosu, as there are voters who are goddamned sick of her (like myself) and Momoko is either the second or third strongest Saki character out there (from my perspective, it's Nodochii, Yuuki, Momoko, Koromo, Kana, and Kyapten in that order)
Anyways, plugging for Saki in almost every match but Kana (Going for Isumi) and Mihoko (don't care who wins, and we know who's going to anyways). Really, as long as Yui and Louise don't win, I'm fine with any result. |

Louise has a very strong chance to beat Momo. She's an iconic and still extremely popular character among otaku.

Yuuki takes care of her business. Still very possible that the top 8 may feature 4 Rie Kugimiya characters (also a obvious Saimoe record).
![]() Since I'm trying to predict winners, and not choosing favorites - I have to go with Isumi here. I have to favor Isumi's strength of opponents and being a proven and tried girl who could probably pull in 600+ votes. I don't know if Kana could do that by herself without the strength of double votes. Of course, we'll see how much hate voting gets into play here. As previously mentioned, this should be a good test match to see the strengths of the Hayate faction versus the extremely powerful Saki faction. I would think that the winner of this match is going to project the winner of the much more exciting Block H match between Nagi Senzennen and Nodoka Haramura. 2位 737票 池田華菜@咲 -Saki- (Kana) I'd say that is a close match. also lol http://changi.2ch.net/test/read.cgi/vote/1254398335/788-789 |

Thus, the possibility of having six Saki characters in the top 8 is broken.
![]() This should be another very close match. I think both girls can pull the same numbers that Kana and Isumi just pulled. So the question is - who is going to win by the slimmest of margins? I would probably have to go with Louise here, sad to say. I think there will be juuuuuuust enough support for Louise to nullify Momo's stealth and get on through. Though it should be close, and it can go the other way. If anything else - the KugiRie factor may come in. This post has been edited by AnimeGamer on Oct 1 2009, 08:49 AM |
