Candy☆Boy is some anime done by some folks sold in a small oav/cd package and is also released over the internet for free (see below). The cd/dvd package goes on sale 12/5.

The title threw me off! I took it too seriously. (Ironic how the title is Candy Boy and not a single male character is in it, well in the first episode) ~_~ Overall in general the quality is really, really nice.. It was also funny by my book.

The first 40 seconds are

Even though it was so short, all seven minutes were wonderful. I wouldn't mind a full 13 episode series of this.

Somehow the most attention-grabbing parts for me were the interior architecture in those dorms (I've lived in similar ones) and the pictures we see at the end (gloriously big candid shots...)

I was going to mention that. The two work desk layout was rather impressive --- i couldn't help but have a nice look around at the beginning.

I all have to say is thats one sweet dorm.

Wow, that was a really adorable short.

I didn't watch it earlier because of its name... but now i guess that was a bad idea.

Cute. I found it subbed somewhere, although it turns out I didn't really need it... No great complexities here, and I got the gist from the raw.

But something doesn't seem quite... right... about it. Aside from two sisters liking each other like that, I mean. And creepy stalker girl. (seriously, how does one get a full-sized framed picture out of a shot taken on a cell phone? Creepy girl is CREEPY.)

No, something just felt... off, about the whole thing.

Animation-wise it was quite the budget work (expectedly?), but the artwork quality compensated pretty well for that. That being said, it was pretty nice - Short and Sweet (har).

Here's to hoping there'll eventually be more on the way.



Also, I like how in in the last scene at the stations the dudes on the left are throwing queer looks at stalker-chan while the girls on the right are doing it for the sisters .

I did see that... Light on the animation, but better-than-average art. Works well enough, I guess.

Heh. I caught that when I was flipping through it again after watching it once. Creepy stalker is definitely attracting attention... I guess the other two girls must be slightly weirded out by the sisters holding hands and all.

Sisters can't hold hands?

*shrugs* Don't ask me. I've never been a sister. The way those two do it just seems to suggest a certain level of closeness. ...Which, of course, actually is there in their case.

Your anime-gaydar needs recalibration, as in anime japan this isn't the case, and most certainly not if you happen to be well into highschool age already.


That being said, they're fraternal twins, so strangers probably don't have a that easy time spotting they're actually related.

It's probably an understatement to say I liked it - normally I don't have much feelings toward things this short, but I really enjoyed this and hope so much that this might become an actual series. First things first the art was b-e-a-UTIFUL, and I loved the character designs. As for the story itself, it did a hundred times more for me in 8 minutes then I could scrape from 2 episodes of Kannazuki no Miko. The writing was great and I loved how the comedy was subtle, the portrayal of emotions without totally relying on dialogue, all of it fit very well. I can't help but anticipate more! Damn you 8 minutes!

I vote that they make this into a full fledge TV anime!!
