Last month.

What are you watching or reading this month/currently?

Me...?

Nana
Emma season 2
Claymore (lol)
Lucky Star (the fans make this one fun to watch, not the show itself)
Darker than Black
Touka Gettan (taking a break)
Sola
Heroic Age
Nodame
Gurren Lagann
Denno Coil. Maybe.

... where's all the Hidamari fansubs?

I should make an effort to finish negima?! and get a crack on Mamoru. Finished Rocket Girls... maybe rewatch manabi straight yet again. And watch more Aria. It's more a resolution than actual desire.

Fansubs/Raw
Bokura No: Starting to "show its stuff." I like it when I see it but it doesn't really stick with me.
Darker Than Black: Getting better. Liking the two part story format.
Death Note: Hahahaha.
Dennou Coil: Good but not for me?
First Gundam: Sub more Sixtydeuce.
Hayate no Gotoku: Secure 2nd best of the season. Really funny stuff here, and the artwork/production values are lovely.
Hidamari Sketch: ...
iDOLM@STER XENOGLOSSIA: Getting better? Or is that my brain melting? Good to fap to.
Lucky Star: Secure 3rd. Not as funny as Hayate but better/more entertaining than the rest of the stuff this season.
Manabi Straight: Need to see the end subbed. An ok show.
Negima!?: emot-iiam.gif
Nodame Cantabile: Yeah...
Romeo x Juliet: Stupid stuff presented well. I'll watch it until I get sick of it.
Seirei no Moribito: Still has wonderful production, but awfully slow.
Shakugan no Shanna: A decent show. Has some honestly good episodes, but is overall kind of sloppy.
Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann: This show is still fucking awesome. Hands down. Best part of my week.
Uchuu Senkan Yamato: Nostalgia seems to have gotten the best of its fans. I feel like a kid watching Eva and not getting the hype. That said, it's a fairly good show. Watching it for educational reasons more than anything.

Finished
Jigoku Shoujo Futagomori: Go to hell.

Reading
Genshiken: Maybe I'll start reading this again. My re-read was interrupted by school in March and I haven't had time to get back on it.
Kodomo no Jikan: Reading/scanslating it. Quite a wonderful series.

I suppose I'm watching OTOKOJUKU as well.

Okay...

Watching:
Darker Than Black - I doubt it will remain as good as ep7 and 8 were, but still solid Bones.
Denno Coil - First two episodes were grade A stuff. Eagerly anticipating more.
Hayate no Gotuku! - Hands down funniest show of the week. Maria is <3
Idolmaster Xenoglossia - Probably going to drop (haha, pun).
Lucky Star - 24 minutes of memetastic fun. Often hit or miss but worth it for Akira.
Sola - Too contrived, too predictable, for some reason I'm still watching
Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann - Awesome, when Gainax isn't screwing with the art.

Completed:
Mobile Suit Gundam (all three movies) - One does not wish to acknowledge the mistakes of one's youth.
Gakuen Utopia Manabi Straight (again) - Best ending ever? I'm struggling to come up with a better one.

Waiting for decent fansubs:
Animal Yokocho, Aria The Natural, Hidamari Sketch (finished raws long time ago) and Nodame Cantabile.

Booted into touch:
Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanonha StrikerS - Way to kill a decent franchise, guys.
Romeo x Juliet - Yawnathon

Watching:

Bokurano - Upto episode 07, and i'm very happy with Gonzo behind the wheel. They've made changes here and there, some that worked well.
Claymore - Teresa has made this series even more awesome then it already was.
D. Gray-Man - Needs more Kanda.
Darker Than Black - Awesome Elf.
Death Note - Mikami needs his own series, seriously. Apart from that its lol Ouran.
Denno Coil - Not much to say, just hope it keeps on delivering.
El Cazador de ka Bruja - "Yes Sir."
Hayate no Gotoku! - The best Super Combat Battle Story ever told.
Heroic Age - Lots of RAWR action, with happy smile Princess. <3
Hidamari Sketch - Yeah, waiting.
Lovely Complex - One of the funniest shows this season, i can't even believe it.
Lucky Star - Konata needs to keep watching Marimite forever.
NANA - Gaaaah, i hate waiting. Especially after that marathon.
Nodame Cantabile - Its almost over, though i can see a second season happening, depends on how they end this.
Romeo X Juliet - Haven't watched in a few weeks, need to catch up.
sola - Aono needs to lose it more.
Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann - Best show this series, and has been since the first episode.. even without the hero of the show.
Touka Gettan - Need more fun in the snow.
Toward the Terra - Keith is the GAR of the season, & Sam doesn't annoy me anymore.

I'm going to start Kaibutsu Oujo sometime this weekend. I'm a little interested, and wouldn't mind hearing more from Mikiya Katakura (Marimite score).

Manga:

Ikkitousen - You can blame Dragon Destiny for ending.
Princess Princess - Finally got a hold of the manga, enjoying a lot.

Watching with the season (in order of importance):

Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann
Hayate no Gotoku
hidamari Sketch (I cant believe it's been a month and only ONE MORE FUCKING EPISODE'S BEEN SUBBED!)
Darker Than Black
Lucky Star
Dennou Coil
Nodame cantabile (keep forgetting about it >_<)

Wrapping Up Right Now:

Simoun (will be done by tonight)
Manabi Straight
Mushishi

I'm sure I'll add more as I come to them.

Finished Manabi, gave up on Touka Gettan.

I'm left with Otokojuku, Lucky Star and Claymore on fansub. Lucky Star is mediocre, but the other two are fantastic.

I have Claymore 1-8 manga to read now, and a backlog of anime dvds to catch up on.

The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi Vol. 1, special edition.
Rozen Maiden Vol. 1 not-particularly-special-edition. Technically I'm not watching these yet since they both just arrived today (and I just got home) but I AM going to watch them. Soon. Like, tonight.

Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha Strikers - Am I the only one who's actually ENJOYING the way the show's going? Yeah, sure, it's not the same as the first two. But I'm liking the new direction just as much as I liked the old.

Sola - Contrary to any and all complaints about this show, I'm personally considering it the best thing I've seen that's come out this year. A really nice mixture of sweetness and drama, with some supernatural weirdness thrown in for interest's sake.

Lucky Star - Amusing. Nothing special, but it keeps me entertained.

Probably some of the stuff I mentioned last time, too.

Gurren Lagann - The fact that it has the same director as the first Re: Cutie Honey OVA shows quite a lot here. Nothing TOO special for the first seven episodes, but episode eight was made of pure win.
New Getter Robo - Just awesome mecha anime.
Paranoia Agent (again, just got the DVDs) - Seen it on TV and computer before, but it was a "buy one get one free" DVD deal at the store in the mall, so I picked this up along with New Getter Robo.
Space Runaway Ideon - Seen the "abridged version" movie, going to see the whole thing now. This is what Eva blatantly copied.
GaoGaiGar FINAL - Heard great things about it.
Kotetsushin Jeeg - Made of hotblood, old memories, and Uncle Go.
Death Note - More out of an obligation to finish the series really. Its not really that good.
Giant Robo: The Animation - Looked good, was cheap as hell.
Martian Sucessor Nadesico (again) - Watched the series on computer, got the DVDs and planning to watch again.

Bah. It's the personality of Shinku that makes her worthy of love, and one can't get that through ero pics. And as for being the "only" good thing, even those who didn't like the show must admit that the background music is something special.

The musical score is by Mitsumune Shinkichi, so of course the music is going to be 'something special'.

He's one of the main reasons why i checked out of the show in the first place.

Anime:
.hack//SIGN: Still haven't really watched this. Got through 2 to 3 episodes though.
Serial Experiments Lain: After the above.
Lucky Star: Who's NOT watching this? I'm mostly doing that for Tsukasa though, and Lucky Channel.
Kekkaishi: > Bleach, which I have dropped. Typical shounen that's actually good and not so repetitive.
Tales of Phantasia: Still trying to finish this.

Manga:
Rurouni Kenshin: Only 9 more to buy, folks! Finally, the part left out of the anime. Can't wait to read further.
Chrono Crusade: Wanted something to read before bed, so I pulled this out to reread.
Tsubasa- Reservoir Chronicle: This has officially made me into a Clamp fan, although it's mostly just focused on this work of art. No, I love it. I love it to death. It deserves a place of honor next to Samurai Champloo in my collection. Syaoran is now one of my favorite MC's of all time. I want to forget RK so I can focus on buying this.

Dropped:
Bleach: Forget it. It's nothing worth thinking about now.
Hidamari Sketch: I don't know. I wanna get into it, but I guess it ended up taking space. May pick it up again later though.
Kekkaishi manga: I think it was the story pacing. It actually seems to move too FAST. None the less, I'll probably skip the manga of this and stick with the anime.

Thinking:
Tsubasa- Reservoir Chronicle anime: Mostly because I ended up liking the manga, but people have told me to mostly just stick with the manga for now, and wait for the anime to become cheap (Or at least the idea that formed into my head.)
To Heart 2 anime: I actually keep trying to pick it up, but I can never bother to watch the first episode. Makes me wonder how I started Kanon.
Shakugan no Shana anime: I guess it seems popular, but, no offense to the fans, it does seem a bit like Bleach (Yes, I know they're different, and Shana is probably better, but Bleach is more of a stupid power battle fest that got old, and Shana kinda sounds like that.)
Ai Yori Aoshi anime: I've kinda wanted to get into this series, but considering the perversion prevalent in it, I've felt reluctant to bother buying it. The recent release of a cheap brick set has put it back into my mind, so I've considered it again.
xxxHolic manga/ anime: Mostly its connection with Tsubasa, but I've recently become more open to Clamp, up to and including thinking about CCS (Eh, probably not, but again eh.). If it seems worthy enough, I'll think about picking it up.

Teh Subbies:

- Claymore - She's over nine thousand!!! biggrin.gif Lolz DBZ-ness aside, still the best anime of the new season, although is the manga any better or different?
- Darker than Black - I'm liking the two-part episode style and makes the story flow better for each, makes me wonder if any more animes will follow this suit later.
- Bokurano - 2nd best series of the new season, even though I can only see the story highly possibly go emotionally straight down the shitter.
- Gigantic Formula - I'm not a big fan of CG mecha but they're doing a damn fine nice job with this one, although I hope it gets more interesting later.
- El Cazador - More LOL than "Noir 3.0" but I'm liking it, at least better than "Madlax".
- Murder Princess - Wow, an actutal Bee-Train anime that not directed by Koichi Mashimo!? Too bad this extreme and fun take on "Vice-Versa" is only for 6-episodes, damn...
- Death Note - At least the stupid crap will end soon.
- D. Gray Man - Back to little filler arcs again?
- Bleach - "meh"
and finally
- Naruto Shippuuden - I could almost call it a sign of the appocolypse that I'm actually back to watching Naurto but at least they're frickin' back to the manga story and I find it interesting to watch older versions of the charactors now, but I'm just afraid I'll be just following more of the same-ol'-same-ol' from the past, maybe not super-drawn out like before, I hope.

On the brink of dropping:
- Lucky Star - Ok, I admit, it's a fun show (and Akira's "Lucky Channel" is fucking win! wink.gif)) but it has to be one of the only animes I'd rather just watch either on YouTube or Veoh than to keep it on my hard drive, it's not all that interesting to me, but you guys can post and show 1,001 meme vids, fanart and ani gifs and it still won't convince me to watch more, maybe....
- Romeo X Juliet - Actually I'm more afraid this one's gonna follow the standard Gonzo formula of being awesome at the start and then tanking in the longrun, at least I know the story will.... tongue.gif
- Heroic Age - Actually more waiting for someone else other than "Your-mom" to do it, but maybe I should just ditch it and forget it.

Still needs to watch sometime:
- Gurren Lagann (where's the good subbers people!?)
- Seirei no Moribito
- Hayate the Combat Butler
- Denno Coil
- Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha StrikerS (once I finish Nanoha and A's first within this year rolleyes.gif)

DVDs for June:

- Highlander: Search or Vengeance (06/05) (I'm not a big fan of Highlander, but it's Kawajiri, what's not to love?)
- Eureka 7 Vol. 7 (06/05)
- Gunbuster 2 Vol. 2 (06/12) (and the 1st one too)
- Le Chevalier D'Eon Vol. 3 (06/19)
- Noien Vol. 4 (06/26)

Be sure to watch Nanoha and A's as soon as you can, since they are fantastically awesome (at least once the first season gets started around episode 5), but stay far away from StrikerS. StrikerS is such an utterly massive disappointment that I'm not even watching it anymore. And you know what that means, since I'm one of the biggest Nanoha fans here. I think it's more of a failure as a sequel than Mahoro season 2 is.

I still really like to watch it (and I also did survive and slightly enjoyed through Mahoro 2 but is highly no where near as good as the original) but thanks for the heads up, I have both the two older Nanoha series on my HD right now, just the time to watch them is the question.... rolleyes.gif

They're not. They drop a show once other people pick it up. Anon does good subs. Or you could just wait for Anime in Action.

"Serious" shows:
-Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann: Ever since it passed the debacle of episode 4 followed by the boring episode 5, it's been impressing the crap out of me.
-Claymore: Was watching for violence alone until flashback arc. Now I actually care about it and am enjoying it a good bit.
-Darker than Black: Enjoying how it's episodic so that I can enjoy it while watching, but not worry about otherwise.
-Death Note: New character intrigues, but I have a feeling the ending will be a let down no matter what it is.
-Naruto Shippuden: This show trades off decent episode for slow episode week by week. Also the animation fluctuates between horribly bland and enjoyably decent as well.
-Sola: Aono needs a beating, nuff said.
-Romeo x Juliet: Aside from the inexplicably bad episode 7, I've been liking this a great deal.

"Comedy" shows:
-Hayate no Gotoku!: Competing with Gurren Lagann for favorite of the season. Also compares favorably to School Rumble.
-Lucky Star: Relaxing and funny in bits, rarely hilarious though.

Reading:
-One Piece: The tea is good = lol
-Trigun Maximum: Release dates are fictional!
-Tsubasa: The plot is intriguing enough that I only miss the characters a lot...
-Naruto: Really liking the recent arc, hopefully there'll be more character development than jutsu development.
