I like the composition, it's like they had the plane they were on explode, and now they're falling to their deaths...

Though, I don't know why they have guns. That doesn't make sense.

They caused the explosion, obviously.

While falling to ones doom doesn't strike me as the best time to be romantic, to each their own.

: P It makes absolute sense if you think about who the guy is.

Anyway, if I weren't incredibly lazy about backgrounds, you'd see pieces of things and buildings and shrapnel and people shooting from those pieces of buildings and grenades exploding and they'd be flying through a rain of shells. But, yah, teh lazy.

Rather, I appreciate the serene moment you've given them.

Mind explaining who they are. The guy looks like Dom, but who's the girl?

Whoever they are, they're both lefties. Or ambidextrous. Which gives me the excuse to pimp "Two-Hands" Revy, an adept dual pistol slinger.

It's Yuki. The pigtails should give it away.

No backgrounds needed, though the sheer verticality of the piece threw me off for a bit. (someone's avatar or sig must have hung up, 'cause my browser was stuck on "1 item downloading" for awhile, and I thought it must be the art in question.)

Still, when I got down to the bottom, It immediately triggered the theme to "Madlax" in my head.

It makes you want to know the story behind said kiss and fall doesn't it?

This deserves some poetry. However, all I've got on hand is this. ;)

It was the best of kisses, it was the worst of times;
it was the longest fall, from our pride in our crimes;
it lasted forever and was over too soon,

XD I called it Prelude 'cause I was gonna have that one line be the first of a small one-shot fic, but this rocks, Quinn!

And I tried to make it the first line of the poem, but couldn't quite get it to fit; far too good an opening line to be doggerel. :)

I should like to see the short story, though. I am now going to make sure you don't tell it pulp-noir style, for my own amusement:

In the end, it was the best kiss I ever had, and she the best dame I didn't. I should've known it, from the moment I saw her purple hair: Madoka, Miho, Yuki. I don't know what I was thinking; maybe that her name doesn't start with an M, maybe that the third time was the charm. Private dicks like me got no business with dames with purple hair. Now, robots, I got a few stories. But you ain't paying me for no robot fiction, and if ain't gettin' paid, I'd rather be drinking this bottle down on Seventh and Vine what that's got my name on it. Hers is Rosie. But that's a song I ain't written yet.

So anyway, this dame comes into my office, lays a crappy inkjet photo of a wimp on my desk and tells she wants me to make sure he's got trouble. I say, lady, that ain't my kind of work. She smiles, and lays about a grand in small bills on the picture. I say, lady, now that's my kind of work....

As Phil said, it makes you wonder what exactly DID happen before. Might make a good story. Maybe.

Unique concept - I like it.

BTW, they're not doomed - Yuki's a Magical Girl, and is thus capable of flight.

I don't know why, but it kind of reminds me of that part of the first Matrix where Smith and Neo are in the subway and they lunge at each other firing.


I guess the whole firing reminded me of it. And hey, If youre gonna die, why not enjoy your last few moments before you are turned into red Gelatin.
