Sorry, dumbass question. On the megagear cart page it says:
I can't figure out how to do this. There isn't anything labeled "PLEASE SELECT".

All I see is:
Am I just supposed to assume that no other carriers?

Or is UPS only available as a first choice, but not after you've seen the USPS rates?

Ok, believe it or not, there are reasons why the 'select carrier' stuff is so clusterfucked - it is because UPS refuses to allow it's name or logo to appear on the same page as ANY other carrier. The absolute last thing they will allow (if they can help it in any way) is to allow people to COMPARE UPS rates on YOUR pacakge to ANY OTHER carrier's rates (including the Postal Service). I think FedEd and DHL try to do similar things, but...

yeah. it's a clusterfuck. If we had custom software we could prolly get away with more, but since our cart system is by a large provider (Volusion) they are being held to the fire on how the carriers want to do things (or they wont allow access to their API backends, yknow?)

Trust me, this is a huge pet peeve and irritation for us, it's been sticking in my craw (and always seem to get worse, not better) over the years.

Volume 6 shipments should be arriving in stores and Fred's warehouse sometime mid-month, presumably.

I imagine it's because they are high-end products used by a niche market, and imported from Japan to boot.

I have a question about Megagear's billing policy.

I was billed for my purchase of Volume Six two weeks ago.

Every online store that I've shopped in (large and small alike) will not bill your credit card until the item ships, even (especially) for back orders.

Is Megagear an exception to this rule in general, or is Volume Six a special case?

Actually, there are two factors at work there - the first is that we only have 30 days to process the transaction, and we were expecting the books to arrive about a week ago. Also, in order to start processing and organizing ourselves, we needed to process orders and start organizing ourselves so we can get things shipped as soon as the books are ready. We started processing older orders a few weeks ago and ive been making shirts and getting orders ready.

That you for your patience, we're a small operation and as you can imagine this is a lot to process and go through. You will be getting your orders shipped out soon tho. smile.gif

International shipping is so very slow tho' sad.gif Not your fault I know but USPS and customs act like nothing matters to them.

I order stuff from Hong Kong and it's there in about 3 days and costs £7 to ship - former colonies get priority. Well recent former colonies anyway :Þ

I wouldn't care but I want to get my paws on Vol. 6 and y'all keep on about how Amazon has it and so on. Not here it doesn't!

Also, unrelated to the above - "Capture the b34r" t-shirt gets more attention and interest than any t-shirt I've ever owned, even more than the Ninj4 hoodie and that's saying a lot. I wonder if "Yuki + Junko" would have the same effect? Maybe, but not in a good way I'm thinking sad.gif

Well my book came, signed and everything, quite happy with that.

But a poster I ordered got crushed in transit it looks like. Any ideas on removing the wrinkles before I frame it?

Yay! It all turned up in immaculate condition (even though ParcelFarce claimed to have no idea about its whereabouts): signed book, stickers! I wasn't expecting smile.gif and t-shirts. I feel truly leet!

Well this is kinda old but I haven't been organizing my photo's like I should. Anyways I got one of the great blankets from Megagear in 06. I didn't do anything with it, I never even opened it as i had no where to put it, but then in 07 I got sent to Iraq and I had this great blanket to keep me warm on the cold desert nights biggrin.gif (btw it actually snowed when i was there) well here's pic of my room while I was over there.

on that note I need to remember to get a replacement when i have the extra cash 15 months in the desert was not kind to any of my possessions.

So for Christmas my wife gifted me the new 2011 Calendar and the art print of Largo and Erika on the train!

Both are totally awesome!! I am a train buff and was enthralled when Fred posted this comic (as well as the photo references he posted for the engine itself). And the calendar is just too cool - all the iconic MT characters and the days of the month! What more could you want. Already getting interested comments at work where I have it proudly displayed on my desk.

Here's my request for an annual update to the calendar!

Thanks, Megagear, for making my Christmas that much merrier!

Just call me "Piro", lately I've been sleeping with both Kimiko and Miho. They're really soft. I mean, like... WOW kinda soft. And very warm.

Yes I mean the blankets.

That's unfair of you Ray. With the Kimiko blanket long gone and the Miho blanket out of stock, you're just making the unfortunates who don't have one envious without any way of getting their own. dry.gif

Fortunately, I too already have a Miho blanket. And inspite of Teddy's protestations that Miho's heart is cold, she keeps me very warm at night. wub.gif

It's a shame that we can't still get some of the older stuff. I'd like a Kimiko blanket, my TPCD tshirt is on its last legs and I can't get a replacement, and where will I get MT stickers for the back of my new laptop? Sigh. sad.gif

What ever happened to the figures Fred was talking about a couple years ago?

I hope this question hasn't become part of the drinking game. Anyway, the most lame anime series offer figures it seems and the popular ones usually offer several lines of figures from different manufacturers. (Even Kevin Smith had a line of figures on his website.) So what happened to the MT figures? I seem to recall when Fred posted his Miho concept drawing that the forums went ape-shit over the idea. What happened?

Remember when AppleGeeks offered their Eve figure for sale she sold out very quickly? If Fred would like to make some serious coin he should work on this product line. I know I would support it completely!!

I would love to see figures as well, I would love to have a Ping figure next to my Eve one... happy.gif And the Miho concept figure was awesome. I don't know anything about what it takes to get the manufacturing of these started or maintained, that may be what inhibits the process.
