So I've been rather obsessed with the end theme to Aquarion lately. Mahou had the lyrics for it on their sub, but no translation. I'm just wondering if anyone may happen to recognize the language (seems to be a mix of... Latin and Japanese I think, I'm not sure though, the Japanese may just be in there for sound effects, kinda like fa so la or whatever) and if anyone may know what they mean.

I had the same curiosity when I first watched it. I suspected by process of elimination that it was Romanian... running a few lines into google confirmed this, as I got tons of Romanian results (and no Japanese results). I'm not sure the fansubbers spelled every last word right, but they got enough that I could figure it out with this method.

I messed around with some translator page, too, I think. "Hora" is type of traditional Romanian folk dance.

*fires up a rip of the end song in winamp and loops for a while* smile.gif

It's Yoko Kanno, so I wouldn't be surprised if it's just plain gibberish. She likes doing that.

On a related note, I love the OP for the show. Don't care about the show itself, but that song...nice. The other track on the single (Pride - Nageki no Tabi) is even better.

From mahou's website:
QUOTE
So, we tried real, REAL hard to figure out the Karaoke for the end song, and came to the conclusion that it is another one of Gabriela Robin's made-up-language songs. For those who don't know, Gabriela Robin is rumored to be none other than Yoko Kanno.
As an interesting note, here is an exact list of the languages we had checked, mostly from group members! however there were quite a few academics that we prodded to check some of the more exotic languages:

Aztec, Cherokee, Chinese, Czech, Dutch, English, Estonian, Finnish, French, German/Germanic, Greek (modern/ancient), Hebrew, Hindi, Hungarian, Indonesian, Irish, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Latin, Latvian, Malay, Mohawk, Moldavian, Mongolian, Norwegian, Persian, Polish, Punjabi, Romanian, Russian, Sanskrit, Serbian, Scottish, Slovak, Slovenian, Spanish, Sumerian, Swahili, Swedish, Tibetan, Turkish, Uzbek, Ukrainian, Vietnamese

Rather than leave it untranslated, and without Karaoke, we decided to have a little fun with it, Alizar came up with a great romanisation of the final words, his little note on the methods used:

Gabriela seems to have been influenced by a mix of Latin, Greek, and Romance language vocalics. So our romanisation uses a blend of all three.

Simple, but it looks great! We really hope you enjoy it!
Yeah, so it means absolutely nothing.

And the OP is very good. *Boots up WinAmp and puts it on repeat*

Kanno Jibberish strikes again!
What I want to know are all the Kajiura jibberish. Her songs are much easier to sing to...

And yeah, the OP song is strangely addictive. Catchy. The more I listen to the more I like it.

Quite different than some of the other bless4 songs...

Actually, Omna Magni has a Japanese lyrics version in the handbook, I guess, so the actual translation is.
Lizard's tail
Dew in the night
Silent night
Sunlight
A drop of mermaid's tear

The shadow of dead people
The pain of living people
The joy of darkness
The madness of light
Let us become one
Let's engulf ourselves in a beautiful lace

(Altadimana Cinqadimana)
By an edge of the shadow
I'm pulled into darkness
I gave a scream
(Altadimana Cinqadimana)
I'm crazy because of the Silence

Thanks for the bump.

Seems sort of fitting given what happens in Aquarion.
