After more fun (yeah, right...) in the sun, it's time for another filk! This one's about Ed, to The Chemical Worker by Great Big Sea (again, a song that's been filked by someone else... this one was done as "The Medical Worker" by codepoetica and Arram).

------------------------------------
Mine: The Sony Worker

[Chorus:]
Just thought you should know
Make precious every breath
'Cause every day you're in this place, I might shoot you to death
So you know
[/Chorus]

Well a Sony man am I and I'm tellin' you no lie
I work and live my daily life with bullets flyin' by
With my Killtrunk beside me there's a hummin' in the air
Blood in my eyes, can't hear their cries, it's my job not to care

[Chorus]

Well I'm here in Megatokyo to do just one sole thing
It's my duty to get back the android that they call Ping
It doesn't matter how it goes as long as she returns
Pumped full of lead, or safe in bed, there's no cause for concern

[Chorus]

The blasted little vixen has more to her than it seems
When I first tried to catch her she threw me through that steel beam
And by heaving a reptile, she then thwarted me again
But I'm not done, she hasn't won, 'till I lie dead and slain!

[Chorus]

Well a Sony man am I and I'm tellin' you no lie
I work and live my daily life with bullets flyin' by
With my Killtrunk beside me there's a hummin' in the air
Blood in my eyes, can't hear their cries, it's my job not to care

[Chorus 2x]
------------------------------------
Original: The Chemical Worker
Artist: Great Big Sea

[Chorus:]
And its go boys go
They'll time your every breath
And every day in this place your two days near to death
But you go
[/Chorus]

Well a process man am I and I'm tellin' you no lie
I work and breathe among the fumes that tread across the sky
There's thunder all around me and there's poison in the air
There's a lousy smell that smacks of hell and dust all in me hair

[Chorus]

Well I've worked among the spitters and I breathe the oily smoke
I've shovelled up the gypsum and it neigh 'on makes you choke
I've stood knee deep cyanide, got sick with a caustic burn
Been working rough, I've seen enough, to make your stomach turn

[Chorus]

There's overtime and bonus opportunities galore
The young men like their money and they all come back for more
But soon your knocking on and you look older than you should
For every bob made on the job, you pay with flesh and blood

[Chorus]

Well a process man am I and I'm telling you no lie
I work and breathe among the fumes that tread across the sky
There's thunder all around me and there's poison in the air
There's a lousy smell that smacks of hell and dust all in me hair

[Chorus 2x]
------------------------------------

...Again, not quite as I planned, but then they never do turn out that way, do they? I'm hoping to eventually have a filk for each main character... that'll take a while. Oh well, something to work at.

Well done. Maybe you should slow down, though. I picked up a couple of odd scansion bits that you could've fixed easily. There is no rush to filk. Quality over quantity. Yeah, I know it sounds strange for a guy who's written one every two days to say that, but it's true.

Awesome! I don't know the song, but I know how to giggle. This is hilarious and clever stuff.

True. Of course, it doesn't help if you don't actually have the song to check against (doing it from memory isn't the best method).
