I caught up with Night outside the building.

"You give 'em the photo?"

He grinned at me evilly. "Of course. I figure if he ever goes really out of control, she can threaten to plaster it all over the city in lifesize posters and his bad-boy rep will be completely shot."

"Not that he's actually a threat to us."

"Of course not."

Chuckling to ourselves, we wandered off into the city. Then I remembered something.

"Oh yes..."

Smirking, I snapped my fingers. Outside the great hall, clearly visible through the windows (which Meagan just happened to be glancing out of at that very moment, as was required by the laws of Megatokyo) a huge burst of fireworks went off, spelling "Congratulations Meagan - Draegos" in large colorful letters.

The reactions were mixed. Meagan stared happily. Draegos turned green. Then white, as she turned to him.

"Draegos-kun! That's so sweet!"

"But I..."

Draegos' bumbling denial was cut off in mid-sentance by the full effect of 'Happy Meagan'. His cheeks tinged themselves red, and for a brief moment he even forgot to be angry at Nightwalker.

Then she hugged him, and all other thoughts went out the window.



"How many people came to see this?"

"Oh, most of the city. Meagan's very well loved."

"So his rep as a badass is now completely shot anyway?"

"Or at least badly damaged."

"Excellent. Plus, he'll blame it all on you."

"You're having too much fun with this retirement thing, you know that?"

"Yes. Yes I am."

I rool in on a hosiptal bed with two MedAnamiys[sp?] in a body cast.

"Hey Megan!" I yell while atempting to wave, "Congrats!"

The two Anamiys[sp?] roll my bed back to the hosiptal, passing LV.

"What the hell happened to you?" LV asked

"Rember when the kitchen exploded?" I replied

"Oh"

It's amazing what hospital janitors can find... ;-)

Manta walked casually from the rear of the convention hall.

The service had been respectful, the congregation, almost civil, the speeches, thoughtful and gift; well, he thought it fitting.

He was almost certain that the small, extra card that 'slipped' into her armful of bouquets and presents went unnoticed. He took a moment to recall the words.

He smiled at the small after thought of including the pair of free-passes, just in case.

And I must say, excellent work _Quinn. That is a Filk that sets (and I’d say raises) the bar.

* Draegos stays quiet, realizing this is Meagen's special moment, and that since every time he opens his mouth a war starts (though he can't understand why), speaking too soon would really ruin the mood. He just looks on proudly. His face lights up when her speach comes to him, he grins inanely despite himself. Congratulations! Big event for any forumite, cause for a celebration when it's our beloved Head Nurse. Honored that you'd include me in your speach; you got me back into roleplaying too, you know (remember those days where I kept insisting "I don't REALLY like to RP"? Ah, good, funny days).

Creeped out by all the people who've apparently decided we're married or something, but what're ya gonna do? The knuckleknobs.

With some of the crap I've seen from the MT staff in the last two months, it's been the "sidestory" forumites that've kept me here despite myself, and Meagen's one of the foremost (if not THE foremost) of these happy RPer's You kept me coming here, and after these last two wild weeks, I'm very, very happy you did. Grateful you did.

Hope you're with us for a long while to come, Meagen!

Psieye warps to where the party is currently taking place, next to Aisha.

"So, what have I missed?" he asks.

"Meagen's 500th Post speech where she addressed various people including you. Followed by numerous congratulation messages, R41d3n speaking on behalf of you and the results of Sabyr's scheming. Here experience it for yourself."

Aisha transferred the relevant memories to Psieye, who spent a few moments reviewing them.

"So Meagen finally reaches her 500th post. She certainly deserves all this and more..."

"Incidentally, remember when Vetinari reached 500? Did Rincewind ever manage to pay for all those drinks? And what happened to the Crab dish Snow made - the rest of the crabs and not the one that mutated with the fish parts."

"I don't know, but what I do know is a vague idea of what I'll do for my next transition post."

"Hmm? What?"

"All I'm going to say is that it will be a huge challenge to get it right and we have no idea where the main MT storyline will be when that happens. If I get this wrong, I'll be under fire by both the YLF and CoM, probably sparking another war too."

Aisha knew when Psieye wouldn't give away any more details. She had a vague idea though from his past words but decided not to ask him about it. Instead they headed towards Meagen and Draegos.

"Congratulations Meagen-chan, Draegos-kun!" Psieye said.

"Congratulations Meagen-sama, Draegos-sama!" Aisha said with a bow.

About my avatar, Draegos had offered to make me one from my YLF entry picture but since Larom was still working my current one at that time, I declined. Larom worked for weeks if not months to perfect the image that you now see. Thanks again Larom and Draegos!

Well the first part was accurate , but the 2nd half - being humble would mean I'd be deceiving myself of the urgency of my situation with regards to Uni work/revision. Several factors (most notably the start of my back problems) led to me falling behind and burning myself out whilst trying to catch up. Cambridge may have shorter terms and longer 'holidays', but that just means everything is crammed in and slightly rushed through - and I must not make the same mistake as last time where I did no work over the Christmas holidays, espeically since I fell behind in work (how I still got some good reports confuses me a bit).

I didn't quite realise just how messed up my personal schedule was until the first few days of the holidays. With an average of 5 hours of sleep a day compared to 6 hours of forum activity a day (and several hours of work), it was little wonder that I had numerous problems in body and mind towards the end of term. And it was only during the holidays - when I found I didn't have enough time for my recovery procedure (12 hours of sleep daily) because of doing all that I wanted to do with the forums - that I realised just how badly my personaly timetable was messed up. I realised what my Uni friends had been saying: "I'm surprised you haven't passed out yet!"

I still don't consider all the time I spent on the forums to be a waste of time at all. Yet I must acknowledge that I must do it in moderation. Thus I will not deny the amount of time I spend here whilst indulging in Fred-level humbleness. I thank you for your praise Meagen and I will continue to endeavour to do what I can whilst being more time strict/efficient.



And now to return to the subject of Meagen in Sabyr's intriguing thread... I don't want to derail this thread from the topic of Meagen, so please reply to the mini-rant above in my Quasi-Will thread (link found in my sig) instead of here.

Snow, along with a few KFH members, finally dropped the incredibly large platter on the table.

"there. eat up. Crab-Cakes for everyone. not to mention Crab Legs, crab, crab, and crabbity crab."

Everyone dug in, even Snow.

"Well, its really simple. The Nuclear Blast ice cream caused every Crab dish that i made during Lord V's party replicate itself. indefinitely. so in theory, it wont ever run out..."
