I scare even myself sometimes. This one's a little obscure. And I'm playing a little loose with the words, as usual.
Sad, Sad Kimiko When it's winter in Megatokyo It's the saddest time of year. And if you go down there Just try not to stare At all the frozen tears. Now the saddest person down there Is a girl called Kimiko. She's a cute seiyuu with no work to do So she just sits in the snow. [chorus] And it's sad, sad, Kimiko Saddest of all the girls in the snow, Spills coffee on the customers And obsesses about rail cards. [/chorus] Kimiko's a part time waitress, At Anna Miller's restaurant She's always on her feet, and if you don't make her eat You'll see her get quite gaunt. She has a roommate; Hayasaka Who looks after her health Kimiko wishes that she'd get a role so that She could take care of herself. Chorus Now one day, about a week ago Kimiko was running late And this gaijin guy whose life had gone awry Was drawn to her by fate. He handed her a railcard And it's all been downhill since then And the story, you see, is a webcomic for free At a site you're already in. Chorus Chorus After Bad, Bad Leroy Brown, by Jim Croce. I probably could have kept going, but I need to get up pretty early tomorrow, and seriously, you all know the story. Hope you enjoyed. |

Well, if by "sit there" you mean dream, shower, shave, walk, drive, eat, and lie in bed waiting to fall asleep, then yes, I just sit there and think all day. But other than that, it just comes.

This is very lame, but I'll post it anyway.
Kimiko, sung to the tune of "Yesterday" by the Beatles Kimiko Why's that pretty face so full of woe? Girl, you've got to learn to let it go - you know you're special, Kimiko Face to face - Your sweet presence; so full of grace. Just learn to find a happy place: you're not pathetic; no basket case. So you messed up lines? Do not sweat it, let it be. Raise your chin, sigh a sigh, maybe crack a smile or three? Kimiko we know your heart is there for lame Piro. You hide it, keep it held down low - Perhaps it's time to let it show? So you want to live your own life, or so you say... Don't shut out the sun or you'll start to fade away... Kimiko You're the loveliest by far, you know. Love is waiting there for you, you know. Spring has sprung now, Kimiko. (I'm wearing teflon, so the rotten tomatoes you 'orrible lot are going to fling at me will just slide off, so *rasberry* McF |

Mad grinz for both you guys!
But..."spring has sprung", McFinnigan? Please. Reminds me of that old poem called "Spring in Brooklyn": Der spring has sprung, der grass iz riz, I wonder where dem boidiez iz; Der little boidz iz on der wing - Ain't dat absoid? Der little wingz iz on der boid! |

Ha! Nothing can stop us!! Lovely.
DaRk_KnIgHt: these things come at all times and without any bidding. My wife was watching somethingt on VH1 that featured a clip of Janet Jackson. The commentators were commenting on her booty-liciousness as she went through "Rhythm Nation," but I was thinking: "'Zombie Nation'!! What a great idea!!" |

An unusual choice of song for a Kimiko filk! Clever!
McFinnigan: Nice work. It's been included in the MT/Beatles Filk Discography. Re: DaRk_KnIgHt: The Muse strikes where and when she will, and the oddest things can provide inspiration. I was having trouble finishing my filk Shy Kimiko when I happened to notice that a thread title scanned perfectly to the original song. It gave me a fresh perspective on the filk (namely it would work better from Piro's POV), and I was able to complete the verses that had been giving me trouble in short order. |

Actually, McFinnigan, it's better than my attempt at the same idea that I wrote about a month ago.
