I listen to just about anything, but all my current favourites are pretty similar.

Belle & Sebastian
Klaxons
The Pillows
Foals
Arctic Monkeys
Florence & the Machine
Fenech Soler
Vampire Weekend

But by next month I'll only be still listening to about 1 of those.

I'm listening to Muse now. What I like about them is that they're essentially Queen with bigger sci-fi nerds. I still can't believe how they can pump out that much sound out of a three-man band. Yeah, I know, they've got a keyboardist. But still, big props to the bassist who carries most if not all of the music.

Other of my fave bands include: AC/DC, Guns 'n Roses, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Ramones, Flogging Molly, REM, Jimi Hendrix, and ZZ Top.

Do composers count? If so: Hanz Zimmer and Yoko Kanno.

Favorite band? Can it be music group? For group, I'd say Perfume.
Does anyone else listen to Japanese music at all?

There are not a lot of bands/artists I like. I generally like one or two songs, and at best tolerate the rest. For example, I hate Toby Keith, on multiple levels. But I get a chuckle out of "As Good as I Once Was", and I love "Beer for My Horses". Similarly, I Love Katy Pery's "Firework", and while I know I have heard a few of her other songs, none stick with me.

However there are a few exceptions, namely:

"Weird Al" Yankovic
John Williams
Nobuo Uematsu
Megumi Hayashibara
FLOW
The Brian Setzer Orchestra
savage genius
Yuki Kajiura
Yoko Ishida

And some that almost make the cut:
Siam Shade
Brad Paisley
Aya Hirano
Love Händel
Evanescence
The Monkees
Utada (I prefer her earlier work, and her Japanese version are better than the English ones)
Rie Fi (ditto)

Lets get a consistent one post per month thing going here wink.gif

I have a very eclectic taste in music, as I get it from a lot of sources...

My Favorite Bands: (There are many more, but I'm terrible with names)

-The Fray
-Thrice (Alchemy Index: Water, Wind, Earth)
-Eminem
-Hollywood Undead
-Deadmouse
-Zed's Dead
-Avila (Youtube)
-Sharm (Youtube)
-Wick (Youtube)
-Maroon 5 (Songs About Jane)
-Three Doors Down
-Macklemore
-Evanescence
-Avril Lavigne
-Superchick
-Mercy Me
-Babymetal

I also enjoy the genres of JPop, KPop, and Chillstep. But I haven't been in the habit of collecting band names like I used to...

I just found a band (Probably not one that any of you will like, they're sort of an acquired taste) called steam powered giraffe. The first song I heard by them (and currently my favorite) a cover of Harder Better Faster Stronger by Daft Punk (Dat guitar such eargasm).
