Heyo peeps. I haven't been active here or on deviantart in years, and I think it's time I get back on the horse. If there's anyone else out here, that wants to join in, then maybe we can do it?
I'm probably going to draw various fanarts, and honestly I have no like set rules or whatever, but say..

One drawing a week? Or something?

I suppose... but I have so many things I should be drawing anyway... and haven't. I guess I could fit that into a theme.

Wait, is the theme "the things you're supposed to be drawing" or something new?

Theme- "Things You're Supposed to be Drawing!" tongue.gif laugh.gif

I'm not sure that was supposed to be a "theme" at all, but funny. I actually meant I'm supposed to be drawing things, a lot of things, and I might be able to fit some of them into a theme as well, or we could just go with draw something- anything -and do it once a week to post here.

Okay then. So next week's theme is... "Something you were supposed to draw, but just put off for later."

(We need to come up with better themes after that if we're going to do themes.)

I intend to, but I should also do the drawing. Since she has to wear it Saturday I should be able to do a drawing and post it by Sunday night.

Start posting your drawings when they are done!

By the way, what should next week's theme be?

Here's my drawing for the evening--that is to say drawing what I was supposed to be drawing.

I was supposed to be drawing a prototype animation for a dragonfly to build out a character controller in a watercolor level I built a few weeks ago:

Nice! biggrin.gif

I wanted to do an animation for my senior project in college, but my teacher nixed it saying it was too hard. I never did learn how to animate. Maybe someday I'll have the time to learn the new tech for doing this on the computer. (I have way too many things I would like to be able to do and no time to do them.)

Animation is one of the hardest things I've ever tried to do--you can spend weeks on something so short people you show only remark "neat."

This one took me 3 weeks after work:

Did not get a drawing done. Better luck next week.

Here's the dress though. It doesn't look like much on a hangar. It looks a lot better on my daughter. The material is stretchy and very comfortable, but a pain to cut and sew. All the lace had to be sewn by hand (ie needle and thread rather than machine), and was the most time consuming of all.

Here's a preliminary sketch of the dress, with some wing sketches I did hoping to embroider them on the back (I thought they would be cute but my daughter hated the idea, so no wings), in the spirit of "drawing" which is what this thread is about.

I thought I could get something drawn on Saturday or today, but there was a boat load of dishes, laundry, and other stuff, as well as my daughter kept forgetting things, shoes, wallet, "Oh, could you quickly pick some flowers and make a boutonniere"... I swear she would forget her head if it wasn't attached. She had fun and her boyfriend looked cute with her (his dad was ecstatic over the whole thing, and rented a limo for them and some of their friends), so it was worthwhile, but no drawing.

What should next week's theme be? Character sketch, buildings, a dangerous situation, education...

Awesome work!

From what it looks like in the picture and how I'd imagine it'd fit, it looks really great! School dances are a lot of work and prom most especially.

I'm up for anything. Captain America comes out this week, could be interesting and topical enough to draw some people in.

Shall we try "A Dangerous Situation" then, and save the others for later?

What do you mean "a dangerous situation?" Like a scene?

That was what I was thinking, some action in there... but if you would prefer "a character study" instead we could do that.

Went with "Dangerous Situation". Need to improve on people, perspective, action... It took me far longer than I wanted, and frankly I didn't even want to think about the ship's crew. Still, it portrays sort of what I wanted. (ElfHybrid, this is your idea of a thread, where are you?)

Next week, Character Study. (I'll keep trying, for now.)

Seriously, if this is going to be the "Mamma Peach draws stuff" thread, I'm going back to trying to post stuff on DeviantArt.

Hah! "Mamma Peach draws stuff" thread. What happened to the other cats in this thread?

I drew a not-so-dangerous-situation:

I programmed a walk-cycle animation, a simple character controller against a rough BG:
