Based on this little ditty I present for your delectation and delight:

Bom Bom (sorry, it got a bit dark at the end. And the beginning. And the middle, if I'm being honest. Ah well)

[Ed]

I'm the guy with the big black gun, blowin' things up like a bomb, bomb, bomb!

I'm the guy with the big black gun, blowin' things up like a bomb, bomb, bomb!

I'm Ed, see, I'm deadly. I like your style of dying!
How kawaii, just transistors, plastic, circuits and resistors -
I want just a spot to snipe and then I'll say "night night!"
Texting straight to your head for the fright, to see you run is delight-ful . .
I've got a knife in my pocket, knife in my pocket, take your eye from its socket.
Borrowed life but I've got style, only killing on my mind,
I'm so cool and you're so dead when I go Bam! Bam! Bam!

(Instrumental break - brass)

Fall to the ground with Bam! Bam! Bam!

(Instrumental break - brass)

I'm so cool and you're so dead when I go Bam! Bam! Bam!

(Instrumental)

[Dom]

Now I'm the guy with the minivan, going round like I've got a plan!
You're dreaming, I'm scheming. I'll like your helpless screaming.
I'm charming, and a shaker, loaded dice and my plans make a
place from where you'll want to run and then I get my gun.
I've got your life in my pocket, life in my pocket, your way out - I'll block it.
I've got life, I've got style, always plotting in my mind,
I'm so cool and you're so damned when I make plans, plans plans!

(Instrumental break - brass)

Thrashing around in my plans, plans, plans!

(Instrumental break - brass)

I'm so cool and you're so damned when I make plans, plans plans!

[Alternate second verse for the terminally happy]

[Miho]

I'm the girl with rings on my thumbs, going around like I'm just no-one.
I'm helpless, I'm beaten, just waiting to be eaten.
Pathetic. My life fated, my death keenly anticipated!
I want to be left alone and then I'll meet my Doom!
Going in to the dark of the night where zombie hordes will devour me.
I've got my phone in my pocket, hope in my pocket, friends who only mock it.
End my life. I'm so lonely, just got my fans, fans fans.

(Instrumental break - brass)

End my life. I'm so lonely, just got my fans, fans fans.

(Instrumental break - brass)

End my life. I'm so lonely, just got my fans, fans fans.

Heehee, this fits perfectly with Ed! XD

It is kinda dark but the song is so upbeat it ends up kinda working... ^.^;

I don't think the third part of the filk is in the song though...at least not the linked one or the official one on youtube. I don't know if the song fits with the suicidal/lonely bent of the last paragraph either...

Also, this song was #1 in the UK? o.0 ...never heard of it before... >.>;

Thanks Con - glad you liked it! biggrin.gif I wrote it for Ed and then I thought I would give Dom a verse too because he hates being left out, although he really isn't the dancing type (!)

It is "too long" but I thought I should at least try to include Miho-chan because it's so totally inappropriate for her so, yeah, I gave her a verse / chorus too smile.gif It was the hardest to do, actually, which is probably the laws of filking trying to resist me - I should really learn to listen to my muse more often. But I can't hear her very well because she's locked in the dungeonbasement most of the time . . . (Did I just say too much? Nope, no-one heard). If you don't like the last verse then stop after Dom's smile.gif

Speaking of which - Dom's verse had two lines too many!! I edited them out and put in a tag for Miho's verse, labelled the others and made some minor edits for mistakes (like lock/block) so it's less confusing and actually fits the song now smile.gif The things you find when you re-read in the cold light of day *shakes head*

Sam and the Womp was number 1 here for a while, yeah, but it's just such a great tune and, although I think the band are from Australia and her accent is maybe south American I always hear her accent as though it's Welsh, which I find hilarious, personally. Anyway, this song gets the car rockin' on those long journeys - the kids sing it in parts, along with this one.

It's like editing the CWDB is actually work these days, but entries like this make it worthwhile.

For Ed and Dom, at least, that's just what the fans want. ;)

My son loves to dance to this song. It's one of his favourites. Don't know if that is a plus to the quality of a song, when a 2 year old loves it, but there ya go.

Also, your filk amuses me. You should let your muse out more often.

Yay, new filk! So glad to see this place getting some action lately.

*leaves out an offering of Meiji Apollo to tempt Zippo into staying*

Sax, that was cool. It's kinda making me imagine how terrifying a hyperactive Dom would be, though... o.o
...and speaking of doms, even the best ones let their subs muses out of the dun- err... basement... occasionally. It's not a healthy relationship otherwise!

Oh, and Tangent? Zippo now has the right to a guilt-free, conscience-free, temporary immolation of your personal space, for having so abruptly invaded hers. tongue.gif

2-year-olds know a thing or two about good tunes, as long as we don't force feed them "Wheels on the Bus" and similar tripe. My kids have been exposed to J-pop for many years now and are slowly learning the One True Way smile.gif

I would let my muse out more often but she will keep banging on about hosts of daffodils and what-have-you. I got her 2nd hand (like most people get their Muses biggrin.gif ) but still, there are limits. Well, as it's a request from a fire-bender I will let her out as often as I can and we'll see what happens.

In other news: Has the 2yo started throwing fire yet or is his talent in a different element? For many at that age the element of "food" is their strong one and some can throw it a LONG way or even coat an entire room in seconds smile.gif

@Miss Mouse smile.gif Hyperactive Dom would be very scary indeed. I imagine him "Dad dancing" to keep the horrors away biggrin.gif

Yes, I know. The problem is that I enjoy being immolated so it's no fun. Also I'm fireproof. ^^;;

Thus the chocolate happy.gif

Hehehe... I've never heard the song before.

That's cool, three for the price of one. laugh.gif

I like the idea of the one for Ed. Has that ever been done before?

Edit for rewording.
