Yeah, but that's Italian (or some romance language... I think it's Italian, though). Is Largo Italian/Does Largo speak Italian? Don't think so... (Although I wouldn't know for sure.)

Yes, it's also a character in Monkey Island II, an NPC in Baulder's Gate II, one of the crop circle making aliens' names, and something one of my cats threw up, but that doesn't mean Rodney took the name from any of those.

On a side note, I think people are going to use the musical term as evidence Largo is an idiot until the end of time. Perhaps longer.

That's a call for an addition to the drinking game if ever I heard one.

It could still be a relevent point without meaning he is an idiot. I don't really think it is, as we have a perfectly good explaination of the dervation without the musical reference.

"Otaku" means "your house." It came to be a respectful term for someone's household and, by extension, them. Basically, it was a polite "you." Eventually, it came to have a sarcastic tone and crumbled from there.

Peter Carey just published a book about travelling through Tokyo with his 13 year old son called "Wrong About Japan" which the same house explanation was used. It's a fast but worthy read.

Yeah, SuperBoomer Largo was evil. Then again, Brain J. Mason, the man who turned into Largo when he died, was evil, too...

...why do I get the feeling that I just handed you a bullet clip, WK? *laugh*

I'd really like to take that and just run with it but I think I'll just wait to see how the story progresses instead. The fact that so many people think that Largo is the only thing I've got any opinions on is beginning to piss me off so I think I'll take a couple of days break and see if things settle down some.
