Summer 2012, It'll be shit

I think there's probably not a great chance of something interesting being announced now, so other than some good shows on their second cours, it's looking like a poor summer for TV anime.

Plenty of stuff adapted from light novels that sound like they could be have been machine generated by regurgitating other light novels.

Tari Tari might be the only original show. Original in quite a narrow sense.

Vaguely interested in Arcana Famiglia since it has a chance of being the first otome game based anime I could find watchable.

Yes, continuations (Moyashimon, Horizon on the middle of nowhere, Rinne no Lagrange) are the things that get most of my attention, but I'll certainly check out

• Chouyaku Hyakunin Isshu: Uta Koi --- the idea of basing an anime on interpretations of the 100 Poems is certainly intriguing enough.
• Oda Nobunaga no Yabou --- I'd heard about this before Sengoku Collection aired, and I was a bit disappointed that the latter series wasn't this. Probably it's the character design for Nobunaga that caught my attention, but the preview I saw looked good, too.
• Tari Tari --- PA Works is enough to get me to at least check this out (though I'm not inspired by the description much).
• Kokoro Connect --- Silver Link is enough to get me to fast forward through an episode or two.

I'm sure there will be a series or two that fall into the "I'd never have thought something with such a stupid premise could be so good" (like Nyaruko-san and, I'm told, bits of Sengoku Collection this season).

Oh, Muv-Luv Alternative: Total Eclipse? Wouldn't it be pretty incomprehensible for people not familiar with the original Muv-Luv Alternative story? Could be interesting otherwise.

Muv-Luv and -surprisingly- Horizon seem to be the only ones I will keep an eye out for.

There are a couple of things I'll check out but nothing I was planning on watching. I won't be surprised if none of them have staying power.

Rinne no Lagrange season 2. A must-see. Beyond that, nothing at all looks interesting.

I would have thought you'd like YuruYuri.

I didn't watch it when it was on before, so I probably shouldn't watch this season of it now.

Looks shit to me.

Moyashimon Returns. I'll probably continue Rinne no Lagrange, but I don't really like the show that much.

Will probably check out Tari Tari. Natsuyuki Rendezvous might be interesting. Jinrui wa Suitai Shimashita for the heck of it.

For OVAs whatnot, more Dantalian is welcome. Will probably check out the new Code Geass cause lolgeass. Will probably watch the Blood C movie just to see how it all ends. Nanoha A's movie fuck yeah. Ookami Kodomo.

Either way there isn't much I'm particularly enthusiastic about.

So is Kokoro Connect what happens when Oonuma gets tired of copying SHAFT and decides to try ripping of KyoAni instead?

I guess I'll try that out, also the Hanasaku Iroha rewrite, and maybe Love&Choco. But mostly, I imagine my summer will be filled with sequels. YuriYuri, Horizon, Rinne, and of course Moyashimon

But would we be expecting a disaster? As far as I know, the Muvluv Alternative (main) stories are pretty solid, though dark and grim. Of course, we're talking about the anime adaptation of the light novel about a side story that takes place in the same universe but... As someone told me about it: "it's largely a love triangle between Criska and Yui... with lotsa robot action."

Seems like this season is full of meh' and more meh'

Will watch:
- Rinne no Lagrange season 2 (WanWan MechaMecha YuriYuri)
- Dog Days' (FU, I liked the 1st series, danmit!)
- Code Geass: Nunnally in Wonderland (f**k yes!, also the same with the spin-off OAV)
Maybe will try:
- Tari Tari (P.A. Works at least does moe' fluff damn good)
- Kokoro Connect (the Azunyan show? Well at least the story seems interesting)
- Sword Art Online (maybe will be better than Accel World?)
- Oda Nobuna no Yabou (Sengoku warlords as chicks has been done before but not by studio Madhouse)
- Campione! (fantasy action fluff)
- Hagure Yuusha no Estetica (scifi action fluff)
- La storia della Arcana Famiglia (crazy funny action fluff)

I don't think they were planning to have him trace the whole anime.

Anyway... It's the first show of the coming season that CR has announced they're going to stream.

Redrawing a few posters is pocket change. Messing with the schedule at this point would be more costly.

Maybe him, Suetsugu Yuki, and Higashiyama Show can get together in a manga circle.

If he was, you know, only hired in order to do the promotional art. And not involved further in the making of the anime itself. How should I spell that to you?

TV anime can carry on even when a director gets replaced. This guy was a character illustrator for the media mix stuff. One that need help drawing swimsuit poses... And it's not like they needed to fire him if it was going to cause schedule problems.

well. if the director gets replaced the show basically will go to shit.

the concern is warranted but i agree, it's not going to have a big impact if it was just one of the guys doing illustrations, which means he probably wasn't anyone higher than a sakkan or the character designer status.
