My favorite movies in order of awesome:

- Fight Club
- American History X
- The Seven Samurai
- Dr. Peacelove
- The Usual Suspects
- Serenity

I'm willing to admit I may be looking at Fight Club with rose tinted glasses, as the book's been my favorite since it came out in '96. However, the transition from book to movie for Fight Club was a thing of beauty, even though the book far outstripes the movie. However I nearly cried at the end when the part where Jack punches God wasn't included.

Well in no particular order...

The Thin Man
Serenity
...that's about it off the top of my head. It's hard to define favorites.

In any particular order:

Good Will Hunting.
Last Samurai.
Robin Hood: Men in Tights.
Kung Pao: Enter the Fist
Pulp Fiction.
Lion King.
Titanic.

I've seen most of those quite a few times. Which is odd for me.

<<Citizen Kane, pretty self-explanatory, and I'm a little surprised it hasn't been mentioned in this thread several times already>>

I tried to list movies I thought were at least a little original, so I didnít bother mentioning anything like Casablanca, The Godfather, Star Wars, Lawrence of Arabia, or Citizen Kane. But theyíre all great and among my favorites.

<<I've never seen it, but from what I've heard, it's more well-known for its cinematography than its story>>

You heard very, very wrong.

<<The music and sound was like nails on blackboard. Of course, I was just out of highschool and wasn't really mature enough to appreciate it>>

I loved it when I was in Junior High...

<<The Third Man>>

Great choice, Kaitou. I debated putting it on my own list.

I admit I haven't watched all too many movies, but I'll put in my two cents.

Monty Python and the Holy Grail because it makes me feel like dance.

Cannibal: The Musical because it was so ridiculously funny. "Nobody's going downstream." *cue overland map of travellers indeed going very far downstream*

Serenity left its mark in me. It just feels so different to the rest of the science fiction world. And thumbs up to a protagonist whose primary attribute is his undying pragmatism.

Mmm... I don't really have a ordered list of favourite movies. It's just that it's so hard to place them above one another when most of them are totally different genres. sad.gif But nonetheless my favourite movies are:

Serenity
Gladiator
Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang
The Lion King
Scar Face
The Godfather
The Godfather 2
Dr. Strangelove
Donnie Darko
Pride and Prejudice
LotR Series
Domino
12 Angry Men

That's what's at the top of my head right now... I'll go back to my movie collection and see what I'm missing sleep.gif

I understand the sentiment, but since this is a "Favorites" thread and not "Underrated", I felt it necessary to include the obvious.

Oh, come on! Dish out a Hot Sports Opinion! Tick people off! That's what these threads are for. tongue.gif

Anyway, this thread has definitely increased the number of movies I feel I must see. Oh, my poor wallet. sad.gif

A lot of people have already covered my favorite movies, but my all time favorite movie is Kill Bill. Both parts, seeing as how it was made as one movie.

I haven't seen a lot of movies, meaning that I also haven't seen a lot of good movies either. So far, my favorites consist of The Matrix and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.

I'll have to go with Pi and Memento. I haven't seen the classics yet and I can't really think of anything else.

As many people have said, hard to pick an actual favourite. But some of the ones I find myself rewatching the most are:

Seven Samurai
Equilibrium
Eat Drink Man Woman
Azumi
Lost in Translation (mainly because that's exactly how I felt my first time in Japan)
Kiki's Delivery Service
Destroy All Monsters
Ladyhawke
El Mariachi
The Boondock Saints
Brotherhood of the Wolf
Lost Boys

And, of course, The Princess Bride

Awesome! sleep.gif

I was gonna mention that one myself. I liked it so much, we named the band I was in just after University after it - until we found out that some '70s group got there first.

  • Ferris Bueller's Day Off

  • Bachelor Party (I've only ever seen this once, and it was at 3am. I thought it was fucking hilarious and need to find a copy on DVD some time soon to realise how memories are much better)
  • Spaceballs
  • Battle Royale
  • Sin City

And that is all that come to mind at the moment, I may edit this later if I can think of any more.
