Welcome to Tech Talk, MTF's unglamorous, abused, and often neglected subforum. Before you can consume Tech Talk, there are a few rules and regulations you should be aware of.

First and foremost, general forum rules apply here. The handy dandy Rules and FAQ thread is here, and this is how not to get on our bad sides. The old Tech Talk FAQ is located here. While severely outdated, it is still a useful piece of information.

Along with the general forum rules, there are also a few rules specific to this forum. Heed them and your existence will be peaceful, ignore them and pain will be brought upon you and your family.

Please use the megathreads that exist. This helps organize useful information into areas where it can easily be accessed by fellow members. Here is a current list of stickied threads.Use Google or the forum search feature FIRST before asking. Opening threads with questions that are readily available on Google will result in a locked thread. This forum is not a substitute for self-research. On the same token, answering questions with "just google it" is spam and is not tolerated. If you see a thread that is easily answered, be nice and answer it, don't just say "lol figure it out yourself". It's not helpful.

If you're looking to answer someone's technical question, only answer to the best of your abilities. Pretending to know answers will not earn you street cred, and is a waste of everyone's time. You're not impressing anyone by pretending to be a know-it-all.

Please do not take Tech Talk if you are pregnant, nursing, or may become pregnant. Tech Talk has been linked to certain kinds of cancers and health issues. Please consult with a doctor before starting on Tech Talk or before changing your dosage. Side effects may include headache, itchy eyes, dry mouth, nausea, diarrhea, indigestion, abdominal and muscle pain, fatigue, loss of motor skills, bleeding, and death. Please take Tech Talk responsibly.
