Kids are a blessing.
Like, "May you live in times
Which are int'resting."

>Any idea why....?

Strong family bonds --
Floating point calculations --
Food for the tapeworm.

An enourmous mistake,
Baby-sitting relatives.
They will have suffered.

Tied together, they
Watch helplessly as demons
Ravage possesions.

Game consoles floating
In the vast, blue bathtub. They
Will never work again...

VCR destroyed
By the use of 3vi1 bread
Shoved into tape slot.

Curse the creator
Of duct tape! Why is it so
Very binding? WHY?!

Alas, if only
1337 master was here! But he
battles the undead.

No salvation for
The unlucky two. No doubt,
They will change their ways.

babysitting woes
where did they find the duck tape?
Next time, call in dead.

Destructive children
Mean we have no story strip,
But this is good, too.

Piro thinks they're gone,
But they left him all tied up!
How will he get free?

in the vast empty
space of rippling bath waters
a solitary
bubble rises to the top:
frogger has died once again.

Floating game systemz
A wrapping done in duct tape
Let's hope they have learned.

Largo's misinformed.
3v1l lies not in sewers
but in the kids' playroom.

While ph34rbots might keep the peace,
in truth they're chasing wild geese.
For no one can tell
What horrific hell
Is wreaked by one mischievous niece...

my first post on a haiku thread. dun kill me.

a chair for a pain.
ducktape for my misery.
a hope that piro
rises from the ashen grave
to write yet another strip.

<<<see, i go back & start reading tanka, & now i'm convinced that i'm thinking in 5,7,5,7,7. it's kinda the same effect i get when reading shakespeare, but creepier. btw, for some top-form tanka, read mori ogai/mori rintaro (ogai was his pen name) -- late 19th/early 20th century japanese poet/physician/writer/critic.

...& yes, i know "strip" is inappropriate.

Poor, sad young couple
Please know things could be worse:
They could be your own.

Seraphim threatens
to call Piro in dead and she
in mourning, silly her.
Did not she realise Piro
Really was dead, victim of neices?

As Piro, bound to
A chair, he contemplates: "Where
The hell are his friends?"

Seraphim, also
Bound, snug in place. She cannot
Help depressed Piro.

Largo, 1337 master.
He can't help; fighting zombies.
Plus, he bites at Quake.

Dom and Ed? Although
They have killed him numerous
Times, they still could help.

...But they are not here.
Perhaps wasting the spreading
Zombie 3vi1 with Largo.

But, he can't be saved.
The artist must wait in hope
That someone will come.

Only problem is
That he consumed a little
Too much Pepsi drinks...

i know for a fact
that poets will oft break rules
but remember this
haiku is 5 7 5
and never anything else

why is it so hard
to stick to a rigid form
i mean, learn to count

limericks, while great
often seem to deviate.
tanka however
5 7 5 (7)^2
and never with 9 or 8

artistic license
is best kept in english verse
the language is worse
japanese is, however
not such a bastardized tongue
