Megatokyo Forums > Story Discussions > Haiku: [298] the 3v1l device beckons

Posted by: Shoka Aug 16 2002, 01:46 AM
largo answers when
the 3v1l device beckons:
"piro, it's for you."

[irish_haiku]
When it rains, the cliche goes, it pours;
But that fails to describe Piro's score!
His incipient troubles
With girls have redoubled:
When the waves break, tsunamis will roar!

As Piro endures his sore head,
I reflect on the day lately sped;
If today is an omen
Of how his life's goin',
Tomorrow he'd best stay in bed!

Hangover pounds painfully
Ringing phone summons Piro
Ping questions loyalty

Controller technique
From Great Teacher Largo's class
Defeats the 3vil

Piro is off-line
System checks always take time.
Ping re-boots faster

Bloody hangover,
Turns your brain into jelly
And steals your glasses

Can you interpret
Symbols and signs of 3vil?
Is Cthulhu dead?

Corruption, deceit;
Don't trust a girl who works for
Weyland-Yutani

[irish_haiku]
A new style: new clothes and style of hair
A terrible phone-call she'll dare
Playing the game
Will never be the same
Brother Piro no longer seems to care
[/irish_haiku]

[Edit: spelling]

This is my first shot a a haiku.....so don't hurt me

Piro awakes dazed
Largo, what happened last night?
What? The phone's for me?

Accusing voices
Miho has converted Ping
boarder-line evil

Ping-chan is back with
A very Ruri-chan look
And a bad 'tude too.

Miho has transformed
Ping-chan into a Goth-chan
The humanity...

Once said Nintendo:
Now you're playing with Power

Ping is at last 'played'
Miho making the choices
Rebooting the soul

And Lady Sony Sweetheart

Too Many Haikus
Feelings bypass restrictions
Rowan's....Gonna....POP!

Good stuff, Crucialguitarist! I particularly liked the very natural phrasing of the first one.

Hawk against blue sky
Tall clouds promise thunderstorms
Miho games with Ping

Piro is fate's child
Beatdown child for twisted fun
He should've gone home.

Shoka... *see wide grin? it's pretty damn wide* Very nice.
And Rowan, many more haiku's that good and I'M gonna be the one that pops...
</!haiku>

Ping begins to learn
The world around her, with Miho
by her side, scheming.

Darkly cute our lil'
EDS? This world is off
it's own axis now!

Once Pinging angels
She's now pinging darker sites
With some new style warez

Feel the fell winds change
Under Miho's lonely gaze
She 'plays' Ping anew...

The clouds wilt beckon;
Time to brave the storms; are you
an Eagle Piro?

<!haiku>
Well, that's my contribution to the burgeoning ranks of haiku. I can only hope that it measures up.

Ring ring, telephone

Ping-chan is pissed off

a five-pointed star
a verse at each of the points -
nice work, cryshalo!
================================
a new game begins;
piro is unaware but
largo understands

Once Miho divined the location,
By GPS tri-angulation*,
Of her phone, now there came
A new thrust in her game,
Through an acolyte recently taken.

*speculative, yes,
but how else would miho know
who had her cell-phone?

The old-fashioned way
is still the most effective:
"Hi, is Piro there?"

the old-fashioned way
requires prior knowledge
or much dialing

I am pretty sure
That most people really knows
Their own phone number

you must also "knows"
who has your phone, to know that
you can reach him there

neither miho nor
ping observed largo pick up
the 3v1l device

how then did miho
know that largo had her phone?
just a lucky guess?

Speak funny you would
Too, if you green muppet were,
Or some Swedish type.

Logic dictates that
The caretaker will take care
Of your possessions.

One who send you to
Hospital, may have your phone.
Ping knows what happened.

Anyway, you may
Just call your phone to find its
Present location

With a little luck
You may get it back this way.
If not, phone is lost.

Finding the cell phone
In Largo's hands, is a great
Opportunity.

[Irish_haiku]

When trying to accomplish a task,
don't let complexity mask,
the simplest and best
way to put it to rest:
if you don't know who's there, then just ask!
