vampire attack
I shall inves... this can't be;
her prone form - I doubt.

[!haiku]

A-ha! When we last met, I was the replier... Now *I* am the first poster! The circle is complete.

stop playing, start acting real
in short, be humane

Posted by: Mephisto Mar 18 2002, 12:50 AM
reality bites
even the l33t must ask what
mockery is this?

Posted by: bunbun Mar 18 2002, 01:17 AM
Amen!

Tohya-san is missing
Awaited challenge begins
The truth interrupts

[!megatokyo]

Meagen-chan so bold;
"Now *I* am the first poster!"
The circle rotates

Laid out on the floor,
Largo's mortal enemy,
but it's not a game.

Posted by: Mephisto Mar 18 2002, 01:42 AM
Is this game over?
will the l33t one let her die?
Or is this the start?

*dodges the anti-newbie searchlights*
*carefully unscrews the outside grate of an air duct*
*whispers through the air duct while crawling inside*

Tohya needs some help
Largo's time to shine has come
Do not doubt his heart. . .

*bangs head on the top of the air duct*
*sets off the Newbie Alarm™*
Aww, nuts. . . !
*back-crawls through the air duct to get away from the guard dogs*

Looking for bodies
Not expecting this weakness
Of his enemy

Another side of
Miho. Helpless and injured
She lay there so still

The Same old Largo
Prepared for the zombie war
Which hasn't happened

Never thought I would be posting in a haiku thread. My Japanese isn't all that good (you just had to use kanji didn't you), but i'll give it a shot. Maybe you can tell me how much I screwed up.

or do you want to dream?

this is what I see posted
what are you saying

Posted by: Dom Mar 18 2002, 12:33 PM
actually, the first line reads "Kyuuketsuki" with slightly different kanji, a pun also used in Kyuuketsuki Miyu.

Posted by: Reflaxion Mar 18 2002, 12:38 PM
I'll take your word for it, since all I see is random Unicode gibberish, and even if I saw the actual characters, I wouldn't be able to read them. Eek.

In reply to:

So how do you tell the difference? And did I get the rest more or less right?

Posted by: Dom Mar 18 2002, 02:59 PM
You don't tell the difference... you just know the pronunciations. hime is 'hime' on its own, 'ki' when used (as in a name, like 'Natsuki', which can mean Summer Princess and Summer Tree, among other things)

As for the rest, you got it pretty much right, though there are about 3 or 4 more interpretations/translations of the first haiku that can be made, all of them correct.

Sadness overwhelms,
All drowning in a great sea,
Tears of million fans.

[!haiku]My first crack at this here in MT, but I think the comic warrants it.[/!haiku]

Largo vision snaps
Shattering in the face of
a hurt, helpless girl

Posted by: blob Mar 18 2002, 03:47 PM
This way, l33t master,
Thine nemesis lies broken.
How wilt thou react?

Ribbons in her hair
Aren't so cute when spilled on tile
Help the fallen child

Posted by: eabrace Mar 18 2002, 05:06 PM
I feel the presence
no more. Seek the evil queen.
I find her broken.

Posted by: Daiko-chan Mar 18 2002, 06:15 PM
[!haiku]^^Here I go! Hope this isn't terrible for a first try...and if it is, maybe bunbun-chan can save me! [/haiku]

dark beauty spilled
received by the icy floor
undead one no more...

Poor little Miho,
head resting on ice-cold tiles,
dream well, but please wake!

Posted by: CosmicRat Mar 18 2002, 07:13 PM
l33t master staring
aghast at the fallen girl
his world is shattered

Posted by: Kiroth 6 Mar 18 2002, 08:08 PM
Largo charges in
His foe helpless on the ground
What will he do now?

Posted by: DeathScytheHell Mar 18 2002, 08:14 PM
Endgames,
Perhaps it comes.
Miho lies fallen,
layen sallen.

Posted by: Azuki Mar 18 2002, 08:17 PM
Alas, double post
Price we pay for impatience
A mistake! Too late.

proud wolf steels himself
but quite unprepared for this-
unexpectedness

gleaming ivory tile
matte black isle unspun, adrift
somewhere, gods chortle

[!haiku]I don't like these two so much. They need work. But I had to put down something for peace of mind.[/!haiku]
