just a bit of arm twisting.
Gan batte, Yuki!

Yuki meets Piro,
take two: will it work this time?
Let us wait and see...

some of the people, but you

blarg.. ganbatte is either 6 or 7 syllables..

I wrote the following several weeks ago.. it has nothing to do with the topic:

It's windy outside
A lonely tree is dancing;
I hear no music.

In reply to:

blarg.. ganbatte is either 6 or 7 syllables..

Three English syllables (gan-ba-te), four Japanese mora (ga-n-ba-tte). Maybe five, but I'm pretty sure small kana (like the small 'tsu' in the 'tte' part) don't get counted.

But this is a haiku thread, not haiku discussion, so:

I didn't love him,
I'll never see him again
...until after school.

This gaijin's ears,
two strangers in a strange land,
grok but three beats there.
In truth, I am but an egg;
teach my ears to hear these sounds?

innocent faces
explain their motivations
as bait for the trap

(Warning: Shift-JIS encoded kana ahead)

ganbatte: work hard!
(Seraphim shows English beats)
kana written thus:

I don't count small-tsu:
alone, it has no meaning.
Not sound, but lack of.

Unwilling Yuki,
Led by her friends, approaches.
A storm is coming.

Piro faces doom
set upon by two fangirls
Yuki dragged along.

Seraphim's leg brace
formerly in the closet
could be out again?

Young love is a game
Yuki's friends join in the fun
Better than shopping

Piro, unprepared
for the challenge he will meet--
beseiged by cute girls
