Halloween's looming -
piro's new happy place
dead heads in snow?

Posted by: CrazyFarmer Oct 31 2001, 05:36 AM
A broom stick in hand
Witch's hat upon her head
her true nature shown?

Hmm. Dead heads in snow?
What a long, strange strip it's been.
Piro's trick: odd treats.

(Bring me the head of
Jerry Garcia
. Fred's a
Friend of the Devil???)

Piro-san cracks and
has a Barton Fink moment.
Trophies in a bag.

Who's under that sheet?
Name tag too tiny to read.
Maybe it says "BOOOO!"?

Erika's item
Possibly a bong filled with
Marijuana smoke?

[!haiku]Rowan Bristol, I'm gonna borrow your idea of reviewing the dramatis personae for the strip.[/!haiku]

Miho:
Bewitching costume,
that "little black dress." Evil
never looked so cute

Kimiko:
I don't recognize
the costume -- not that I would
love her any less

Erika:
O.K., I'll admit:
I'm a sucker for a girl [1]
in a uniform

Boo (?):
A sheet with some holes?
Get that rodent a drink, quick!
He's more fun that way

Largo:
Is that Kaneda?
Hm... somehow he seems smaller
without his 'cycle

Piro:
Who needs a costume?
Scary is as scary does.
Fear the quiet ones

[1] P.C. Disclaimer: Yeah yeah yeah. I couldn't fit "woman" into a decent meter. Bite me.

Is that Kaneda?
There is only one thing I
can say: TE-TSU-OOOO~!

Largo, Kaneda?
Uncertainty rules the day.
However, I feel,
He is Solid Snake because,
Kaneda carries no gun.

This "Solid Snake" --
a character, or some kind
of a plumbing tool?

Piro's bag of Heads:
was anybody else scared?
know that I was/am

now about that ghost:
who is under that blanket?
Ping, yuki, boo... who?

who will be 'treating
as the night gets very old
not me: it be cold

and just one last thing:
know the one called Mac Hall?
He like Haiku too

[!haiku]This peculiar name (particularly peculiar for an "action hero") leads me to maunderings quite out of line with his creators' intentions. I demonstrate:

[word_assocation_football]

solid snake >
stolid stake >
soiled skake >
spoiled snack >
oiled smack >
roiled shack >
boiled crack >
coiled flack

[/word_assocation_football]

See? All this without breaking a sweat! Any one of these would be perfectly suited to be proudly worn by an "action hero" as a distinct moniker.

P.S. This is what comes of an academic background in translation: pernicious language habits for a lifetime. It's also a snapshot at the workings of the poeaster's mind in action, and why s/he is universally disliked except at drinking binges. Cheers![/!haiku]

Solid Snake? Foolish!
He looks not like him. Think Time-
Crisis 2 hero.

Onions pass us by?
That would explain why I laugh
until my eyes weep.

Hallowe'en is done.
No late-night Friday for me:
I'm up in four hours.
